So technically not my first dinosaur purchase because I started my collection with one of the cheapo fake dinosaurs from the dollar store. But I can't seem to find that. Plus I think it befits my first post that I showcase some of my better toys. So here goes

Haolongood Nasutoceratops:
I am amazed with the level of detail on the toys these days. And from what I understand, this is one of their earlier releases, and things only get better from here on out. I am expecting a few more additions to my HLG line up this month!

BOTM Guanlong:
And this next one is my first real action figure! Courtesy of my wife, who gifted this to me on my birthday. Prior to receiving this as a gift, I must admit I was not enthusiastic about BOTM's action figure line-up because they seemed to have a broken-up feel to them. But my experience with this little dino has me wanting more. In an ideal world, I would like to collect all of their ceratopsians, but alas, I currently lack the dough and space, so will have to wait for a more opportune time.

Welcome, that Guanlong is definitely a good starting Botm figure.

Thank you for the warm welcome, folks! As luck would have it, I recently acquired a large selection of dinosaur figures. An older gentleman was looking to offload almost half of his inventory, and I chanced upon it while browsing my local classifieds. He seemed to have suffered a personal loss and wanted to downsize his collection. He mentioned that he frequented a dinosaur forum; I asked if it was DTB, but he wasn't sure. If you happen to see this post, I want to thank you for trusting me with your personal collection. As a beginner in this hobby, I couldn't have asked for more.

Now, on to the loot: there are a total of 23 figures, including some sea reptiles. Unfortunately, I lack the space to display them all at once, so expect to see a gradual flow of updates as I rotate them on my limited shelf space.

First up, of course, is the Tyrant King himself. I wasn't especially impressed when I first saw its review on DinosDragons. As someone whose only familiarity with T. Rex was the athletic monster from Jurassic Park, I initially felt underwhelmed. However, holding it in hand and after some reading, I've come to terms with the scientifically accurate portrayal. From what I understand, there are still debates, as some have gripes with PNSO's take because it lacks lips and has enlarged scales. At this point, I'm ambivalent about these details. Purely in terms of aesthetics, though, it's a beautiful figure, and I'm glad to have it as part of my budding collection.

This particular figure comes with a base, as do all the other theropods from the previous owner. A few seem to have this feature straight from the factory, but the PNSO T. Rex and some others were clearly modified to include screw pegs in their feet. I wasn't thrilled when I first noticed this alteration, but it's started to grow on me. My only concern is if it weakens the structure in any way. Would more experienced collectors recommend leaving them as they are, or should I attempt to remove the screws and fill in the holes with putty or another material?

Rebor's Acrocanthosaurus with the Tenotosaurus corpse - I am unfortunately missing the three Deinonychus. Also as a bonus is my first ever PNSO, the Zhuchengtyrannus.

Nice to have the whole Tenontosaurus, though. I never got it because I didn't like the idea of having to buy two items to get the whole animal.

That's fair—I probably wouldn't have gone out of my way to buy the two parts separately if they hadn't already come together as a package when I got this secondhand.

Featuring the large sauropods I managed to buy as a set—now I'm tempted to make this the official 'sauropod shelf' and add more. I've been eyeing Rebor's Diplodocus, W-Dragon's Giraffatitan, HLG's Ampelosaurus, Dicraeosaurus, and PNSO's Camarasaurus. However, it might be a while (if at all) before I collect them all, as I've met (and slightly exceeded) my budget for this year. I'll wait until next year to possibly add some of HLG's and PNSO's ceratopsians. Other dinosaur-adjacent action figures are also competing for my attention, so I may not get around to all of them. Still, I have plenty left to showcase from the lot I purchased this month, so there's no shortage of figures!

I was at my local Dollarama and picked up these Lego knock-offs. My familiarity with Lego is limited, but from what I can tell, these MontToy dinos seem pretty well-made. They require some assembly, and there are eight in total. I currently have the Triceratops, Velociraptor, Dilophosaurus, and what appears to be an Indominus clone called Mega Rex. I'm missing two more Velociraptors, the Pteranodon, and the T-Rex. At only about 1.5 CAD each, I plan to hunt down the rest and complete the collection.

Dilophosaurus

Indominus aka Mega Rex

Velociraptor Green variant

Triceratops(probably my favorite out of the lot)
