Thoughts on what could come next from CollectA

Yes, CollectA's Bajadasaurus and Brontosaurus are great, I have both and I'm delighted with the Brontosaurus.  I was just talking about how CollectA hasn't made a deluxe diplodocoid since they started making great sauropods.  And with regards to that, I consider the following CollectA's great sauropod figures, starting with their year of release:
2015: Daxiatitan
2018: Brontosaurus
2020: Bajadasaurus
2021: Mamenchisaurus
2023: Ruyangosaurus
2024: Dreadnoughtus
2025: Ingentia

Looking like a small number of releases this year. But they've packed a lot of variety in. There might still be room for a giant pterosaur.

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres - I think it appears to be a small number of releases because there are 5 Fridays in November this year, so they are spreading their normal 4 weeks of announcements over 5 weeks (and it's been confirmed, I believe, there are still two weeks of reveals to go).

Sure, so maybe two more reveals? Three if they double up the last week? Six or seven new figures is still kind of a low number compared to many past years for CollectA. Still, the ones we're getting are pretty solid in my view, especially the Jaekelopterus.

Or a plesiosauroid!

That's right too! They might release a plesiosauroid (Elasmosaurus) eventually. That one at least is long enough to have a shot at being considered. Realistically, that's the only plesiosauroid I can see them considering, even though as far as plesiosauroids are concerned, there are better options, like Futabasaurus, as you requested.

The most glaring omission from their portfolio is obviously Cotylorhynchus.

Now that all of the 2025 CollectA figures are known, below is whether CollectA is making what I thought they might which I posted earlier in this thread.

Large pterosaur: no
Prehistoric mammal: yes
Large sauropod: yes
Postosuchus: no
British species: no
A feathered species: yes
A megaraptoran: yes
Stegosaurus: no
An ankylosaurid with a tail club: no
An aquatic animal: yes
Something from the Paleozoic: yes

6 right, 5 wrong!  I'm very surprised by the ones CollectA didn't make!

Looks like I got a lot of my wishes made from earlier in the year (all with the exception of Thylacoleo).

Got a new Paleozoic animal and prehistoric invertebrate in the form of the eurypterid Jaekelopterus (which folks have been asking for several years now), got another prehistoric Cenozoic mammal, another Triassic period animal, and a new prehistoric bird in the form of the Phorusrhacos (terror bird).

That said I am really glad we got an Arctodus and a Gallimimus from them. Both have been long requested from numerous folks here over the years after all.

As for British species in particular, I think we should expect fewer in the future, without Anthony Beeson's involvement.

While updating Toy Animal Wiki and dinotoycollector.com with CollectA retirement info I noticed CollectA has retired their best stegosaurian figures (Kentrosaurus and Gigantspinosaurus), leaving them without a modern stegosaurian figure.  I wonder if they will add one or more new stegosaurian figures next year.  Stegosaurus is noticeably lacking a modern figure by CollectA but there isn't a need for a new figure of it except for CollectA.  Perhaps CollectA will make Stegosaurus and another stegosaurian for next year?  I wish for Tuojiangosaurus!

Similarly, CollectA still lacks a figure of an ankylosaurid with a tail club.  All they have are some old, weird Ankylosaurus figures.  I hope if CollectA makes a new figure from this group it's something other than Ankylosaurus again.  I wonder when CollectA will make another ankylosaurid?

The CollectA Gallimimus is a success, I'm delighted with it and it makes me wish for more ornithomimosaurians from CollectA!  CollectA has good models of Deinocheirus and Beishanlong but I'm happy with my PNSO Deinocheirus and I'm not interested in having a figure of Beishanlong.  That just leaves CollectA's Struthiomimus and I wish they had left it looking like it did in the first promotional photo of it.  Instead they gave it huge eyes and a small snout, I dislike how the final figure looks.  I would also be interested in CollectA not making another ornithomimosaurian soon and instead that they make other feathered species.  I love CollectA's Gallimimus and Phorusrhacos and would love to have more feathered species from CollectA.  Even CollectA's newest Velociraptor is good, it's just too big for me.  CollectA has retired their Sciurumimus so I doubt they'll make another compsognathid soon.  I'm not very interested in large feathered species being made, but I can imagine CollectA making a new Gigantoraptor, Yutyrannus or new Utharaptor as the interest in them by the community is there.  I'd prefer smaller species though, particularly Xiongguanlong (which has probably a 0% chance of being made since CollectA doesn't seem to want to retire their awful version of it yet), Eotyrannus (CollectA's existing one is retired), an oviraptorid known from good remains which isn't Citipati or the 100/42 oviraptorid as I'm satisfied with my figures of those two, any dromaeosaurid Deinonychus-sized or smaller as a smallish figure and any troodontid.  I hope CollectA doesn't remake Therizinosaurus soon, there's enough good figures of it and a smaller therizinosaurian would be more interesting.

A remake of Eustreptospondylus would be even cooler, afterall for Eotyrannus you've got BOTM, but Eustreptospondylus has nothing, besides they skipped the british species this year.

Eustreptospondylus has a couple of figures aside from Collecta's from Geoworld and TS toys but neither of them are ideal. The Double edged sword of the BOTM Eotyrannus is that despite looking very nice it was sculpted and released right before a re-description of Eotyrannus was published and accidentally got much of the hands and legs incorrect. Both are due for a refresh from somebody.

I was aware of both figures, though neither is really accessible, though thanks for informing me about Eotyrannus.

Though damn Geoworld, speaking as an italian it was such a wasted opportunity, were the figures better made and more precise they could have established a noteworthy line in my country; would have been perfect now that the hobby is flourishing and there are new companies behind every corner.
