by the way, do database managers have powers of removing some entries or only adding? i have few suggestions for some specific brand lines, but that's alright

avatar_Samrukia @Samrukia
Well, DTC 2.0 is mostly a backend update with no real big new features. Everything coming after 2.0 will be new features :)
The database managers are not able to delete entries. What would you like to be deleted?

T @thomasw100
Interesting. In the backend there is a field called "Category". I've added this field long time ago for the purpose of having toys, resin kits, 3D prints - but I have no idea yet how to present the data to not overload the site. If you have ideas, please share your thoughts - I am open to suggestions.

Could a new search option for sorting by period (asc and desc) be added if possible?

Added the remaining new Paleozoo figures, and did some minor updates for like nearly all the 2024 Palezoo figures.

I can add these sorting options, but I can't see how this would be beneficial. Do you want it for the frontend (what everybody sees) or backend/admin panel?

Faelrin

Frontend that everyone could use.

started to see too many ads lately :(
they appear in the middle of the screen, and if i go and choose any category in my collection, for example, all those 3 ads pop up again and again every time page refreshes :(

i am not against ads but maybe not as visible ..

avatar_Samrukia @Samrukia
Yes, I have enabled ads due to the yearly costs of the hosting.
But what you show is some strange behaviour. Can you tell me what browser you are using? I tried to place the ads so they are visible but not in that way. For me it is working as intended on different devices.

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres & avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin
I will not add this function as I don't see any beneficial reason in it - sorting them chronologically would also be complicated  :-\

I just want to say that the range of Jurassic World mini figures is incomplete.  I've been looking at it to see which ones I'd like to get and while looking online for them I've noticed some are not on the dinotoycollector site, e.g. Albertosaurus and Nothosaurus set, Elasmosaurus and Kaprosuchus set, Siats...

I'm waiting to hear back from avatar_DinoToyCollector @DinoToyCollector about which option to pick when wanting to export something to Excel in order to add new figures, once I know that I could add the missing JW minis if I know what's missing.

Faelrin

I've been trying to compile together the remaining ones missing, that was until I had my recent burn out, otherwise they would be up there already. I can try to give it a go sometime tonight if you'd like.

I got a really late start on this, my bad, but I got like halfway done with 2024's Wave 2 (with images). I'll pick this up tomorrow. I'm also overdue an overhaul on updating some of the older minis (to use their bag/box codes instead of the Mattel product codes, and add images for many missing them).

A little overview on what is missing that I've been way behind on adding (which I have data for still):

-2019's Dino Rivals metallic figures
-2021's Dino Escape wave
-some Matchbox minis I guess
-rest of 2024's Wave 2 and 3
-images for many figures

Edit: I actually own some of the Wave 2 2024 minis, so adding these means I can finally update my collection with them there too lol.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin Since you brought those figures up, I'd like to mention that the figures belonging to the Display Model Series 3 set by Bandai are missing too.

Not surprised I'm behind on those. Behind on adding the Plannosaurus, and whatever else from them at this point. I think for those at the time I was adding stuff they didn't have a page with images ready yet? Not sure, but in any case I can get them added after I finish the Mattel mini stuff.

Edit: Okay I got the rest of the Wave 2 2024 minis added. It hasn't been a good day for me to focus with my niece over, among numerous other things. It's getting late now, so I'm gonna try to get Wave 3, the Bandai figures, etc up tomorrow.

avatar_Sim @Sim and anyone else interested, I got the rest of the 2024 JW minis up there (with images), as well as the 2021 minis (images for most, still searching for some higher quality ones of the few missing). Gonna try to tackle the 2019 metallic ones and new 2025 wave tomorrow (now that they are showing up).

Got the 2025 minis added. Gonna add images in a bit as I want to go through the older 2022 and 2023 figures and get them updated and add images where needed. This is so I can figure out which figures are new for each of the later post 2022 Wave/Series 1 waves, and which are repacks. This will make adding images going forward easier for any repacks.

I'll try to do get the 2019 ones up but I want to make sure I got the codes for those right. I only found images for the metallic Dilophosaurus and metallic orange raptor too (aside from the repacks of the 2018 figures), which leaves the metallic Indominus rex and metallic brown Tyrannosaurus to lack pics.

Edit: Getting new images up for the 2022 minis. I'm also in the process of adding split up versions of the 2022 minis. This is for folks that only want a particular mini, want to keep track of multiples of a particular species (especially with the numerous repacks), even if they technically come in sets of 2 (or other packs) in most cases. It'll also help add to the totals for period and groups (for instance the newly added separated Lystrosaurus mini entry will now show up in either the Permian and Synapsid categories). I'll be doing this for the 2023, 2024, and 2025 ones, but only the new species for those years.

Edit 2: Okay all of the 2022 mini figures have images now, and all of the blind boxes figures have gotten new entries now. Will work on adding those from the various multipacks tomorrow (as necessary, particularly those that show up in later waves, such as like the Allosaurus, Carnotaurus, Mosasaurus, etc), and then onto the 2023 mini figures.

Added the missing Matchbox minis sets, and worked much of today on filling out the 2022 sets section on my minis sheet (worked on and off on the entire sheet over a couple years now):

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10ZhjhCYoC19cj822lkdgOfzYVAUAKwQ8ZK0jzmfwbeE/edit?usp=sharing

Only the green Tyrannosaurus set lacks an image, as I wasn't able to find anything else about it. I'm also not sure what the name of that one Dilophosaurus set, but at least it has an image. I'm not sure if that Dilophosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Suchomimus, and green Tyrannosaurus sets released, but eh had the codes and images for most so added them anyways. With that done I can begin adding the rest of the unique 2022 minis as individual entries. I watched a lot of reviews and did a lot of comparisons between them to fine tune the details (for the ones that are unique enough and worth adding).

Edit: All of the remaining 2022 minis have been added as separate entries (rather be unique sculpts, or repaints from the various sets, and paint variants). Can probably tackle 2023, 2024, and 2025 minis tomorrow.

If you have the time, could you please check the website again and tell me if these ads still show up?
I've changed some things manually as the main goal is to have a website as Dino Toy reference not as advertising poster.

Also I've done significant changes in the background while fixing the rating issue for items. It now works flawlessly.
