Oh wow, love that Paraceratherium! It looks strong and powerful. Scale wise it fits in snugly between the CollectA and iToy one. Could easily be a different, smaller Paraceratheriidae as well. Looking forward to this one.

Quote from: Faelrin on April 08, 2025, 06:34:14 AMDoes anyone have their mammoth or the Stegodon there along with the Carnegie mammoth? Wondering how big this new Paraceratherium will be in comparison to the Carnegie mammoth, which is the biggest mammal figure in my collection (other then the Bullyland Deinotherium and Megatherium).

Nice to see another Lufengosaurus might be on the market soon, but man PNSO's new one is still top for me with its bright green colors.

Definitely planning on getting that Wooly Mammoth (hopefully Eofauna will go for a different pose if they finally get around to making their own), Stegodon, and ideally Paraceratherium. The Ground sloth looks very good paint and sculpt wise, but I just can't get over its weirdly horny-looking face

SenSx

What is your opinion on that Collecta Paraceratherium ?
We still don't have clues on those possible trunk and fur ?

Trenchcoated Rebbachisaur

I don't mind the trunk at all! And fur would be okay in theory, but it just... Looks so mangy on the CollectA one.

Nehalennia

I don't mind the fur and trunk either - I actually love that CollectA went a more speculative route with this figure. It definitely grabs the attention and the fur gives it some nice colour variation from the grey in which Paraceratheriidae are typically presented.

I perceive mine as a middle-sized Paraceratheriidae, Urtinotherium or Turpanotherium for example, as it's dwarfed by the absolute giant of a model that's the iToy Paraceratherium.

Flaffy

I find the CollectA Paraceratherium very unappealing. It looks diseased and suffering from severe alopecia.

The TNG version has my interest. The darker version in particular looks very neat.

I like the sculpt and patchy hair of the CollectA Para, just wish the hair color was a darker version of the body and not red.

Fembrogon

Both of these look very promising; I hope we get price estimates soon. I have the PNSO Lufengosaurus, but would happily pick up another figure if it's good enough. I haven't gotten the Collecta Paraceratherium yet (like others, the fur application/paint doesn't quite also to me), but this pne looks more to my liking.

A definite buy for me.

Faelrin

I too prefer this new TNG one. Well I also like the I-Toy one, but that was too big for my needs (although possibly more in scale with the Carnegie mammoth?).

Also thanks very much to both S @SidB and avatar_Nehalennia @Nehalennia for those comparisons. Very much appreciated. It looks like this TNG Paraceratherium will be around the size of the CollectA one, more or less.

I started out collecting 1/20 to 1/30 scale Cenozoic mammals, with a few 1/40 ones thrown in as there weren't many of the smaller scale available back then. I've gradually switched over  to 1/35 as more and more became readily available, short-turning my 1/20  mammalian collectibles (I may sell them off at some point).  So I never ended up getting the big I-Toy Paraceratherium (though I waited a couple of years for a sale that never came), but the arrival of the CollectA Para, then the superb TNG 1/35's  committed me to the smaller scale figures. The new Megatherium and now this  new Paraceratherium have cemented the deal. No going back.

A 1:35 scale, robust, more clearly Rhinocerotoid Paraceratherium is something I've been wanting for so long!

No doubt, the Lufengosaurus is tempting. While I'm very positive on the TNG mammals, Ive not been so on their dinosaurs. The Lufengo seems much better than most,if not all of their previous dinosaurs and is a definite possibility.

I agree, I prefer this version of the animal.
But I'm keeping the Collecta one just in case some evidences ermerge on the possibility of trunk and fur.

Important info to those who are pondering about getting the TNG mammals!

Seems like paint downgrades are hitting this brand too for later production waves. Not dissimilar to PNSO and Papo figures. I just received a new copy of the Stegodon today; and while I prefer the new matte finish, the simplified eye and tusk paint is noticeable. So if you like what you see in the promotional images, I wouldn't wait too long to acquire them lest you risk getting a specimen from a later production batch.

Eyes: intricate sclera now replaced by simple black dot pupil. Andy's review has a close-up of the old head that displays this better than my images.
Tusks: much more subdued yellow/off white wash on the base, and no white tip paint (not a big deal given that the tusks are now cast in white as opposed to blueish-grey)
Body: more reserved wash and highlights. Matte finish is a plus IMO.

Between TNG's Megatherium and Paraceratherium, EoFauna's elephants, Cyberzoic/BotC, and CollectA's Arctodus, this is big year for Cenozoic mammal fans.

Good to know, the Stegodon's been on my list for a bit now

Any news yet about the Arsinotherium?
The Return Of The Mammoth's

Concavenator

Hah! Another Lufengosaurus... In about a year, Lufengosaurus has gotten a chibi version (Animal Heavenly Body's), and two realistic versions (PNSO's and TNG's).

If you're gonna make a figure of a prosauropod, something that's a rarity, why not make a Plateosaurus instead of a Lufengosaurus, especially since the latter got a top-notch figure from PNSO already? Will we ever get another Plateosaurus figure?

Having said that, I do prefer TNG's color scheme over PNSO's. Not because PNSO's is flashy (I like flashy color schemes), I'm just not a fan of the color scheme they chose for that particular figure. Either way, both are a skip for me, I'm just not interested in that species.
