It is a magnificent figure. I thought I could skip it because I'm not a JP3 fan but I'm also not a Dominion fan and still got the Giga.  :P

I don't honestly know. This Spinosaurus appeared on Amazon UK a while ago and I preordered it. It then disappeared from the website for weeks. I was actually expecting some new sanding/sculpting tools to arrive today, but the box was huge, and this was thrown in with my new tools. It was a total surprise.
The same thing happened with the Stegosaurus, I preordered that as well, and it also seems to have disappeared again. I'll let you guys know if that shows up early too.

avatar_DavidJamesArmsby @DavidJamesArmsby Omg I'm so jealous. Congrats on getting this beauty already though. Love the pics too, especially the group pic with all the JPIII ones. Definitely need a male T. rex to go with this one now (and maybe green Brachiosaurus, and Parasaurolophus) so we can recreate the ever divisive fight lol.

They technically did the Pteranodon in the AC the year before the HC was launched. It scales well. It uses the bendy wings like the Geosternbergia/P. sternbergi. If you can find it and afford it, I'd recommend getting the AC one. It's easily one of their most screen accurate figures in terms of paint apps and sculpt details. Otherwise who knows if they'll revisit it. Could use some better wing articulation, but don't know if they could beat the previous take on it as far as the paint goes.

My pic of it for the DTC site (yeah the beak was a little warped out of the box, but I think I've since fixed it):

Still gotta get my hands on that Corythosaurus, assuming it's still available for a decent price. I'm unfortunately way behind on it.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin I've never considered mixing the lines, but that might work.
I stored all my Amber Collection dinos away in the attic after the Hammond Collection took over and, unfortunately, I checked up on them a few months ago and a lot of the rubber pieces have disintegrated. From memory, the Pteranodon was actually the worst of them. The wings are barely hanging on with tears and splits all throughout. I've been storing figures in my attic for over a decade and nothing like this has ever happened. Most of my Amber Collection figures are now destroyed.
I'm tempted to go up and take some photos of my ghoulish lot as a warning to other collectors.

Faelrin

I'm kind of lucky that nothing has happened to mine yet. No tears, etc. Probably warped wings if I had to guess from sitting in a box with other figures for a while (due to my lack of display space, as otherwise it would be on display).

The closest Target to me was a big disappointment. Nothing new. Only a few things on clearance (Chaos Theory Ben set for 8, Diplodocus half off, and Super Colossal Allosaurus for 21). Nothing but overstock of the real feel Carnotaurus, a few Suchomimus for full price (while other stores have clearanced them off). I would have liked to get some of those too, but a sale was preferred. I did pick up the HC Allosaurus, one of two left. Thankfully not for the higher online price. Unfortunately the arms have the poor QC like most did (where the blue isn't painted right). I went with the one with the slightly better side.

Quote from: Dyscrasia on May 30, 2025, 12:46:25 PMI also fortunately picked up that JWR SC T. rex early,

and when it comes to large JP/JW T. rex toys out there,

it is certainly one of the best looking.

thinking i might remove a few teeth on it? what do you think?

It will likely make the T. rex to have a more natural look.

Spino Saturday thanks to Target.

Man that HC Spino looks incredible. I like to think I've gotten pretty patient when it comes to picking up Mattel's figures but this might have to be an instant pickup

Is it just me or does the 'Power Devour' rex have more blunted teeth compared to the 'Lab Lockdown' version? I find the latter to be the superior figure, having a light in the mouth is just a bit odd for a rex toy.

Side note, UK Smyths doesn't seem to have the 'Lab Lockdown' rex nor the Quetzalcoatlus yet. I would've thought they'd all be in the same wave as the rest of the JWR toys? I did manage to track down the Inostrancevia though, easily one of my favourites from the Mattel line so far. Bring on the Estemmenosuchus and Lycaenops!

JPuggy

Got the Ceratosuchops for $5 at Target today, no new stuff in my area though :(

They look more blunt than the SC too.  I wonder if it has to do with rules on a mechanized toy? I.E. if it can bite by mechanical means then extra precautions are needed.

Found the Mosa at another Walmart today, all they had aside from the masks. I'm guessing it didn't have as strict a date on it?

It's a beautiful figure, the motion and details are fantastic. Mattel is doing a heck of a job with these.

My local Walmart hasn't fully stocked the Jurassic section yet but they've at least started. Saw the D-rex and Spinosaurus but was disappointed that they didn't have the Lab Lockdown T. rex yet, that's the one I'm most excited for. I did get the Iani, Edmontonia, and Inostrancevia though. The little guys are usually the hardest to find so I'm glad I can check them off the list.

Noideaforaname

My Target got a bunch of new stuff in, so I got myself a Stygimoloch.

I'm not entirely sure what "True FX" is all about. TBH, HC has been steadily improving it's a little odd calling attention to it now.

A bit trickier to get a ramming pose than the Pachycephalosaurus, thanks to the smaller feet and hidden ball(?)joints in the neck/head making it hard to tell the limits of its articulation. Also Stygi's head is HUGE.

Didn't see Velociraptor or Troodon, but frankly I think I'm raptor'd out at this point (I got 10 dromeosaurs between HC and BotM!).

So your Pteranodon has become one of The Fell?
It's apparently a common issue with figures that have rubber parts like that, including expensive ones. I kinda worry that might affect the Hammond Collection, too.
But yes, show some pics.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Target was a complete bust. They're overstocked on older figures that are mostly on endcaps now. Drowning in Re-imagined Carnotaurus figures that have been there since Christmas. They refuse to put them on clearance. The only new thing I saw was the Re-imagined Indominus. I like that one a lot but I'm trying to hold off on getting an Indominus until there's one in the Hammond Collection. If that one ever goes on clearance then I'll consider it.

Overall, a lousy day for Mattel shopping. I at least got the three I mentioned earlier though. Will try again in a couple weeks.

I'm right there with you. Same thing happened with the street date for the Dominion line a few years back. Everyone was posting about their awesome hunts, stuffed shelves and new pickups while the shelves at my stores were just sitting empty save for a few scattered old figures. Hopefully they'll be more on top of it this time around because it feels like it was weeks before they actually got around to putting the new Dominion stuff out despite the street date.

My opinion of the Titanosaurus figure has changed.  Amazon has it listed (but temp. out of stock) and has some good side view pics of it.  The tail is too long, but not nearly as goofy long as i thought it was and the  other proportions are not bad.  it is supposed to be 28 inches tall upright and 54 inches long, with head upright, which makes it the same height as the Dreadnoughtus and a bit longer (because of the longer tail).  Head is better proportioned to the body, than Dread's.

So now it's a definite maybe.  Perhaps remove the little sail over the hips (i think i can live with the one behind the head) and mod the tail a bit and use it as a...TBD?  Too small for Argentinosaurus or Patigotitan, needs to be more of a 'mid sized' titanosaur.

It has been that way since the beginning for me. I've learnt to be patient but this Rebirth wave has so many cool toys that I'm finding it difficult to be patient this time around.

avatar_CityRaptor @CityRaptor My Amber Collection Pteranodon is indeed going the way of the Forefathers! :P

I sealed all my Amber Collection figures in a tub in my attic for a couple years. They went up in perfect condition, and now all the rubber parts are disintegrating. There're tears all over all of them, but the JP3 Pteranodon has it the worst because of its huge rubbery wings.

Anyone else with Amber Collection figures in storage may want to check on them just in case. I REALLY hope this doesn't become an issue with the Hammond Collection.

Faelrin

avatar_DavidJamesArmsby @DavidJamesArmsby That is terrible. So sorry to see that. Hope my figures sitting in storage for the past 2 years don't suffer this fate. Do have my Pteranodon on hand, and my Rebor Titanoboa however (though in its box), but not the AC raptors, etc. Were they not in a climate controlled environment by being in the attic? Or something to do with the material breaking down after being cooped up for so long?

avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi avatar_Carnoking @Carnoking I'm in this boat with you guys. Oh well. Next month will hopefully fair better, if not a few weeks from now.

Also my fears have been averted. We are getting several mini packs with new sculpts. Titanosaurus, new T. rex I think, new Quetzalcoatlus, Spinosaurus, and Mosasaurus, etc. I'll get the images up in a bit.
