Looks great.

I'd love PNSO to release some more marine reptiles: Mosasaurus, Elasmosaurus, Pliosaurus...
I'm not too hopefull for Ichtyotitan but I would like one, maybe from HLG.

A very nice figure. But even though it is a different species, it looks very much like my Safari Ichthyosaurus (the same size too), and therefore I probably won't be getting it. A Mosasaurus would be more enticing for me, I think. But the $US is devaluating fast compared to my currency, so maybe I will be purchasing a PNSO figure soon.

It's true, the Safari has been my way to go for I Ichthyosaurus and I still really like it, but this one seems on another level of realism.

This upcoming release also worked as a good reminder to myself that marine animals PNSO already released in the past are still pretty great - the likes of Tylosaurus, Livyatan, Cretoxyrhina and Helicoprion.

I've been thinking about it lately and I've concluded that the only marine reptiles I'd really be excited about would be thalattosuchians. A Machimosaurus rex would be sweet.

But say, whatever happened to the sharks? PNSO had a good thing going on with them. Why not an Edestus? I'd buy that. Or a nice big Ptychodus.

Now this is more like it! I think PNSO does a really nice job on their aquatic animals' color schemes, more so than on their dinosaurs.

Quote from: Faelrin on June 16, 2025, 08:06:25 PMavatar_Gwangi @Gwangi Last one was made in 2021. I think it was either the Tylosaurus or Livyatan. There were quite a number of them that year with 3 fish, a whale, a pliosaur, ichthyosaur, and mosasaur. After that, nothing but dinosaurs, and among them a bulk of megatheropods.

Yup, first non-dinosaur since 2021, and first Triassic animal since 2021. And it's only the third Triassic animal ever in their Prehistoric Animals line.

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres Um what about the Atopodentatus from 2020?

Edit: It appears I read what he said wrong earlier. I missed the word third. So disregard, and my bad.

Are those 3 the Himalayasaurus, Atopodentatus, and Guizhouichthyosaurus?

Hi!
Do you think, experts, that there's any way of having this as a 1:30-1:40 representative of any ichthyosaur?

Thanks :)

Quote from: Protopatch on June 17, 2025, 04:42:46 PMSo, it's rather surprising that no other companies had the idea of such a color scheme for their Ichtyosaurs before, except if PNSO somehow got their inspiration from the Carnegie's Ichtyosaur ?^^
I take back what I said ::D

Rather than being directly influenced by the Carnegie figure, it's likely they all (including Carnegie) took inspiration from extant marine predators.

Isn't it in that scale range for Guizhouichthyosaurus?

At a size range of 5 to 7 meters, this figure is already a 1:30-1:40 representation of the genus it was meant to represent

Crazy how Plateosaurus, arguably the most famous Triassic dinosaur, has barely any figures by the modern heavyweight companies.

crazy8wizard

I'm more shocked by the immense number of triassic dinosaurs that don't have any figures while people keep asking for the exact same 3 genera

Tbf, a lot of us like collecting 1:35 scale, and there aren't really many Triassic dinosaurs that the big companies would make in 1:35.

I regret the absence of Plateosaurus too, J @Joel1905 . However the lack of a fearsome dental set, or horns, or ornamental display structures, or even overwhelming size militate against this important dinosaur easily becoming a candidate for fabrication by the major companies, IMO. Sad, really, as it was a cereal box dino, the Plateosaurus, that was my very first (and now lost) introduction to the world of dinosaur collectibles. Hopefully someone will take the plunge and make one before too much longer.

PSNO's Lufengosaurus is wonderful, so it bodes well for a potential Plateosaurus!

SidB

Yes, they certainly  have the "right stuff" J @Joel1905 , to do a fine job with one. But my suspicion is that their release of the very same Lufengosaurus that you have mentioned may mean that they've done their Triassic sauropodmorph thing for now. Hopefully I'm wrong.

crazy8wizard

Also worth mentioning that Lufengosaurus isn't Triassic, it's very early Jurassic
