I think we need to talk about how much david undersold the Megalosaurus sculpture in the making of. "Nice enough" and "Ugly head" are not descriptors I would use for that beast
Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece

I personally found the Megalosaurus sculpture pretty lovely

Today's BTS video was excellent as well. I was 90% sure that Prehistoric Beast was a big inspiration for the first segment and now that's essentially confirmed. Beautiful love letter to saurian cinema from the last 100 years.

Also dilophosaurus next? Color me excited!

As a theropod collector, the want for an Armsby is strong.... the sculpt for "Last Tyrant" in Vol1 is what I see in my mind, when someone says "gracile morph" in regards to T.rex. The balance between the science and the art is so fluid in his work.

That... was awesome. I watched the episode (twice!) yesterday night, and just watched the BTS video a little while ago - I really appreciate the dive into each video's creative process, it gets my own gears turning and adds so much more depth to the finished product.
"Terrible Lizards" is now my favorite episode of the series so far. I honestly think this is a short that could - or even should - be played in classrooms, much like how Fantasia's "Rite of Spring" segment once was or how Phil Tippet's Prehistoric Beast was intended to be. This short balances a nice blend of story and action without too much violence, while keeping the dinosaurs believable and sympathetic as real animals - and that's before mentioning the magnificent portrayal of paleontology & paleoart evolution. This feels like something I could point just about anyone to for a quick and engaging intro on "real" dinosaurs and their history. Bravo, sir, bravo. I am SO excited to see the rest of the episodes!

That was a fun watch, very well done!
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.
