What's the significance of 10/4/99? Just wondering.

avatar_GojiraGuy1954 @GojiraGuy1954 It is far, far too early to tease or confirm anything but Irritator is (at least at the moment) the spinosaur I find the most interesting and will likely be the subject of a Vol. 3 episode some time down the road. And it's for exactly the same reasons you stated. The place it lived is super fascinating, and I want to animate all the weird pterosaurs there. I'm especially fond of Tapejera too.

But again, it's a LONG way away, and there may be more discoveries that sway my interest towards a different species of spinosaur. All I can really confirm is that if a Vol. 3 happens, there will be a spinosaur episode of some kind.

H @HD-man It's the exact date (and the time, 8:30pm) that the first episode of BBC's Walking With Dinosaurs first aired.

Hell yeah
Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece

The Romualdo formation also has some pretty good fish...

Here is the link to my new film. It's my love-letter to all things dinosaur over the passed 200 years. Hope you all like it! ^_^

Cpt Red 3eard

Wonderful first episode with a few cheeky Easter eggs for dino media.

BlueKrono

Love it! Seeing those Crystal Palace dinos makes me thirsty for a marine reptile spinoff.

I literally had a tear in my eye at the end. Okay maybe a couple. I'll be honest it takes a lot to get that response from me these days, what with my chronic depression and all. Very beautifully done trip through the ages. I had a similar reaction with the last episode of Dinosauria season 1.

Spoiler
One question is the sauropod shown Cetiosaurus? I'm guessing the ankylosaur is Hylaeosaurus as well?

Edit: Also liked the little vhs play thing for the 80's/90's reconstructions.

It happens to me every time I watch A More Ancient Spring. Absolutely beautiful! No question about it, avatar_DavidJamesArmsby @DavidJamesArmsby is making some of the best paleo-media around. And I'm thrilled that he's a member of this community!

I'm so glad all of you like the film. This was the most ambitious and difficult film of the series so far, but I'm very proud of it. I think it's actually going to be the shortest film of Vol. 2 so there's a LOT more to come.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin That is indeed Cetiosaurus and Hylaeosaurus. The film is actually bookended with Hyaleosaurus. The species appears once at the start in its 1842 form and munches on a plant, and then once again at the end of the film in its 2025 form and munches on another plant! :P

avatar_Gwangi @Gwangi That is incredibly kind and means a lot to me. Thank you.

Faelrin

Oof I'm gonna have to rewatch it (not like that's thing though) to catch that detail again.

Spoiler
I also forgot to mention the baby Iguanodon (and Megalosaurus chicks later) in the beginning was super cute. I don't think I've ever seen babies done up like the Crystal Palace statues before. So cool.

Do yourselves a favor, put on the good earphones and allow Ivan Duch's score to really speak. The way the opening measures plod along, a very simple melody, becoming more complex and nuanced as our understanding of the dinosaurs on screen becomes more complex and nuanced, a masterwork in its own right.

This is dream paleomedia. Short on spoken dialouge, long on love for the subject matter. Beautiful dinosaurs, masterful storytelling and an immersive soundtrack. I love the way the viewer can clearly see the inspirations and homages, flashes of recognition, at the same time there's the undeniable feeling that Dinosauria has very much established itself as something fresh, unique and very, very special.

Thank you David!

Really great work avatar_DavidJamesArmsby @DavidJamesArmsby ! I love it how you managed to work the evolution of the reconstructions into the story. The Crystal Palace setting reminded me at my feeling when I visited CP back in  2016.

Your Iguanodon design remembered me at the design of the "Walter-Cronkite-documentary". I wished HLG had used a similar design or paintjob.

It's truly majestic in everey meaning. Science and history and emotion. Congratulations! The best episode since your "thy tyrannt king".

I am looking forward for the next episode! :D  :D  :D

The shortest film of Vol. 2? I'm happy to hear that! When I started watching it I was excited that it was 10 minutes long but when it ended I was sad that it was only 10 minutes long.  :*D
