Monkeysaurus

@ Rayeknor

Do what I did and get some heavy duty ceiling hooks designed for heavy planters and hang it above your dinosaurs. Make sure they aren't just screwed in, but rather put in place via T shaped anchors for extra support and use heavy duty fishing line. I like this approach because you get a nice relative scale of everything when they're above and below each other. It also saves a lot of room.
Just because I have a short attention span doesn't mean

I already had Tyrannosaurus, Apatosaurus, another Triceratops, Megalosaurus, Plesiosaur.

Always nice to see someone who still appreciates good old Invictas and even acquires used ones for their own collection  ^-^

The roof above the spot where I display my collection has flimsy plaster, it's basically a easy access spot for maintaining a heat pump so no good spot for T plugs or any plugs really. Fortunately the Sumeru whale model comes with a nice metal stand so it is still elevated off the ground giving it a much smaller footprint then the PNSO figure I was considering.

Quote from: SenSx on July 24, 2025, 04:30:01 PMWow insane Blue Whale.
You are also talking about PNSO making one in 1/35 ?
I wasn't aware of that.

I would love an Ichthyotitan.

I think the PNSO one has been around for a few years, I believe it is still available on Amazon and elsewhere. It was the one I was probably going for until finding out about the Sumeru studio one I managed to get the last one of according to the seller, it came with a little metal card saying #22 of 30 so I guess a very limited run, if they used the mold for a plastic run I think they could sell a lot more of it, the model is stunning in hand, it gets quite distorted by a phone camera.

My mother has almost two full sets of the Invicta figure ranges in her attic, mine from the 80s and another set for my brother in the 90s. She thought I took them with me moving out but they sat in a box in the attic. I currently have the woolly mammoth at my house and it's from the late 70s but still looks almost as new, that's quality right there.

HLG Iguanodon just in!

SidB

This one really did deserve a "show and tell" as you have thoroughly done, especially in your collection thread.

Protopatch

Fresh arrival of the day from Japan : the Bandai's Citipati.
The seams are quite noticeable however, this is a superb figure with awesome details and a nice discreet color scheme.
The good surprise is the fact that the upper part of its stand perfectly interlocks with the BotM's desert environment set :

avatar_Concavenator @Concavenator and avatar_Sim @Sim thank you both for your piece of advice !

My updated Gobi collection :

I have the full collection of the (unpainted) Invicta figures, and I still remember the places I bought all of them decades ago, at zoo's and museums, and I also know that I will never have this feeling of satisfaction and fulfilment for any other dinosaur figures, which is strange. And it is not nostalgia which induces this feeling, because I had it from the first moment I saw them, somewhere around 1990. My Tyrannosaurus figure I acquired as one of the last, at the wonderful Museum of Natural History in Oslo (which I still visit, now and then - always a special occasion for me).

A personal history connects you to the Invictas, I love that!

Here's something a little different; the Boris Ping Toys "Avina" figure, who is clearly supposed to be Regina from Dino Crisis.

Dino Crisis 1 is one of my favourite pieces of dino media. I consider it one of the 3 or so cornerstone pieces of paleo media that got me obsessed with dinosaurs at a young age. For me it was Dino Crisis PS1, BBC's Walking With Dinosaurs, and Disney's Dinosaur. Which all came out in 1999-2000 so that makes a whole lot of sense. This game is what started me life-long love for the horror genre too, which is probably my next biggest interest after dinosaurs.

I'm far more excited about this little toy than I have any right to be, but it's honestly not great. The likeness doesn't match for me, and looks more like Regina cosplay over Regina herself. The whole figure is also just loose and bits fall off too easily. It's got a "knock off" feel to it. But I am so starved for Dino Crisis merch I can't help but like it regardless. I absolutely love that the wristwatch is included which you use multiple times in the game, and this 1:18 Regina matches particularly well with the Hammond Collection dinosaurs. It helps that a lot of the Dino Crisis designs were JP inspired to begin with.

I tried to photograph her with all the species I remembered from each game. I think Velociraptor Delta works particularly well as the Velociraptors in DC1 were essentially just green JP Velociraptors. The blue Allosaurus works for the same reason. But I was surprised how well the Giga looked too. In fact, I think this Giganotosaurus design far better matches the Dino Crisis design language than it does Jurassic Park.

This figure is available from multiple places on AliExpress. I spent about £25 on it, which is a bit steep for how cheap it feels. If they make any other characters from the Dino Crisis franchise I'll be first in line to buy them though. I especially want Gail and Rick, but I'll also take a Dylan! :D

One last image of her with a part of BOTM display, because she obviously scales well with them as well. (She's standing by the T. Rex's leg)

Finally tracked down the Mattel Torvoneustes, absolutely love seeing more metriorhynchid representation and for a toy its pretty good, improves on the fin anatomy/size of their Dakosaurus too (though they may be a bit too fish-like now)
Super happy that tracking this one down didn't take over a year like with the Nothosaurus.
Also a random horse that was on sale :D

Oh my goodness! This Regina is perfect. (edit: reacted a bit too fast, just read about the downsides you mentionned. Still I was really surprised to see a Dino Crisis figure)

So happy CollectA is keeping my Cenozoic animal love alive. Quite a sizeable model as well! Very happy with this beaut.

I`ll be ordering it soon too. Just wish it was detachable from the base. Would it be worthy to risk or not detaching it?

Sim

I had the base removed from my CollectA Phorusrhacos by Martin Garratt.  I'm happy with the figure now.

Recently purchased the Papo blue whale to stand in for a calf with mom. It is an amazing sculpt with the most obscene paint job I've ever seen from them so I decided to try my hand at painting. I mixed grey with black and blue to come up with a reasonably accurate mix. I then added some white to it to make the mottling pattern. Originally I wanted to try and display nursing behavior, however whale nipples are actually located near the genital slits and not on the chest as is true with apes like us.

At any rate I think I'm happy with the result. If Papo gave this guy a more realistic color it would've been a home run.

I want to show you my recent acquisitions.
Here is the microraptor that Stegotyranno420 told us from XoticSculpts available on Etsy. It's really beautiful. And I think the glitter really adds something, even if it doesn't stand up very well on its own.

I won't insult you by introducing you to the figurines from PNSO, Haolonggood, or Bandai. They are excellent.
I just want to show you this figurine that looks a lot like a Gastornis from the Oenux brand, branded as a Thunderbird.

I also bought three figurines from the Earth Story collection.
I really like the Deinotherium; I prefer it with a long trunk.
However, although I really like the Smilodon's dynamic posture, it's too big for my collection.
The Paraceratherium is the one I like the least, so I'll probably sell it on Vinted.

Cadillacs and Dinosaurs!

Yep, I ended up with three Cadillacs due to eager relatives. And yes, they probably should go the Other Toys thread, but they are so fitting for the series.

This is how you make Snap Squads?

Got the Crushivore Indominus 75 % off. Normally not a fan of slime, but I'm using it as some kind of lab specimen suspended in that stuff.
Tubbz Alan Grant was either 75 or 80 % off compared to the normal price. I highly doubt that I would have brought it for the original price.

Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no
