Ok i admit, i do not Watch this show. Not because i think its for kids, but because it usuly teaches things that are common knowledge to we dinosaur enthusiasts.

But i find it exciting that they are trying to spread autism awareness, after all, im sure a lot of members in this community have some form of this mental illness(including myself)

I also find it clever that the Autistic dinosaur in the show is going to be a Deinochirus, which is the weirdest dinosaur found in recent years, and i know some Autistic People are (unfortunately) bullied for being the way they are, because they seem "weird". Im possitive that was not there intent, but leave it to me for delving way to deep into these things. After all, its about trying to get this Dinosaur to make freinds which is something I (for example) have a real hard time doing outside of the internet.

Deinocheirus was a rather odd and mysterious dinosaur, but it is also well liked in the dinosaur community. It has many awesome attributes... as do people with autism.

So I guess this is a special Dinosaur in more ways than one.  Or is it offensive when I say it like that? Did Dinosaur Train ever do something like that before?
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

I have high-functioning autism (it used to be called Asperger's, but apparently they replaced that term). To me, it seems like a good idea to teach children about this. I also think it's actually a good idea to use a Deinocheirus, because it is a weird dinosaur at first sight, but it's also really awesome. Maybe that's what they want to show the kids: people with autism may look strange to others, but once you get to know them, they can be really cool people.

I did't even realize this show was still running (my kids have aged past it now).

I was hoping that this would somehow lead to more figures of their more obscure animals from the series...but that seems to be over now (maybe that's why I thought the show was over too?).

Good to see the creators worked with the CDC and not Autism Speaks.

In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

There are more mental illnesses than autism too. I had a brain tumor that stunted my growth. So even though I'm 20 I'm more like 14 mentally and physically.

"3,000 km to the south, the massive comet crashes into Earth. The light from the impact fades in silence. Then the shock waves arrive. Next comes the blast front. Finally a rain of molten rock starts to fall out of the darkening sky - this is the end of the age of the dinosaurs. The Comet struck the Gulf of Mexico with the force of 10 billion Hiroshima bombs. And with the catastrophic climate changes that followed 65% of all life died out. It took millions of years for the earth to recover but when it did the giant dinosaurs were gone - never to return." - WWD

Ok guys i want to clarify that I find the choice of the dinosaur to be clever,

Faelrin

I haven't watched this show before, but I do recognize it, and have heard good things about it. I think that's nice that they're doing this, and I think they've picked an interesting species for the role. Sounds like something that would be right up my alley, in part because of my new fondness for Deinocheirus thanks to the recent discoveries, and because I'm high functioning myself.

My children watched this show in the past and I think it's a good idea to use this medium to educate children about mental problems etc well done I say and inspired choice of dinosaur.
