One of the biggest gripes I have about the forum is that often when I type out a long response and hit Post the next screen will say in red letters something to the effect of "Someone else has posted since you wrote this. Are you sure you still want to post?" Unfortunately you have to scroll down to see it, so I have on multiple occasions navigated away from the page thinking my contribution was added, only to come back hours later to find it missing. I would very much like to see this feature done away with. Does anyone else find value in this feature, or has anyone else lost a post this way?

I have occasionally found it a useful feature if the previous post had some bearing on my own post or rendered it redundant. I've never actually lost my post. But I'm pretty easy either way over the feature.

I find it useful to check any new posts in case they influence what I was about to say. From memory, the red warning is at the top, and on a laptop screen at least it is obvious, so I've never lost a post because of it. Maybe it is different on mobile, so sorry that you have been troubled by it. I still think it's a feature that, on balance, has value though.
