There were two different versions of the cause of Vitae's earlier temporary disappearance put forward: see earlier in this thread Rebor's Reply #451; and Mirroraptor's report in Reply 457.

I already suspected that the cause of Vitae almost vanishing was the lack of a Tyrannosaurus.
Speaking of it does seem like their Giganotosaurus is their most popular model and that one comes close in terms of genus popularity after all.

Of course it's possible that they might have had more sales if they'd made a Ty***nosaurus, but their disappearance (for a while) seems to owe much more to Cheung choosing an unreliable business partner. There's a long sordid saga that someone explained on the forum once, although I can't find the thread now.

Anyway, I think I'm going to swear off Ty***nosaurus figures for another few years. I'm also swearing off Spinosaurus unless it comes with a fish.

Oh right, thank you! I couldn't find it because I misremembered the specific vice that the factory owner was accused of. For the curious: http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=6168.msg247359;topicseen#msg247359

To others' points, while I agree that it's basically always possible to improve, to me the spirit of the question is more like, which genera have been done so well that you'd prefer companies focus their attention elsewhere? I get most excited when a company either 1) makes a new taxon, or 2) makes a new version of a taxon that only has really crappy representation. So while the Favorite Co Dunkleosteus has flaws, I'm not really hankering for a new Dunk; I'd rather somebody make a Titanichthys or Lunaspis or Psarolepis instead.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres Yeah Titanichthys would be really nice to see for once, if not the others. I mean it's like the Paleozoic equivalent to Leedsichthys (just without the pop culture reach of it I guess). I really hope CollectA could do one. Considering they made an Edaphosurus for their Dimetrodon, it seems only fair to make it to pair with their Dunkleosteus (and on that note, hopefully a Livyatan to go with their Megalodon).
