Blade-of-the-Moon

I'm just curious when and how we will see our first prehistoric marine creature or airborne one in any of the lines, but especially Cyberzoic.

If they made a line of swimmers I'd start making up my bankruptcy paperwork.

I remember a lot of Dino Riders concepts fan came up with that would pretty epic to see in this line.  A 1:18 Quetzalcoatlus would also make a start of a pretty awesome airforce.

How about Tech Clan Quetzalcoatlus vs Fire Clan Hatzegopteryx???  ;)

Works for me. :)  This probably belongs in the tyrannosaur section but it seems work with this topic :

Sim

I hope that when making them in 1:18 scale, David corrects the head of the Saurornitholestes and proportions of the Zhenyuanlong.  I'd love to have accurate figures of them!

Giganotosaurus

I'm hoping for modern animals! I've been bummed out lately looking for good articulated rhino figures, and there are pretty much none!

I would love a Pachyderm series (yes I know that's not scientific):

African Bush Elephant
African Forest Elephant
Asian Elephant

White Rhino
Black Rhino
Indian Rhino
Javan Rhino
Sumatran Rhino

Hippopotamus
Pygmy Hippopotamus

Baird's Tapir
Malaysian Tapir
Lowland Tapir
Mountain Tapir

I can't even find a non-overly cartoonish Javan Rhino plushie! 😢
😭
Mosasurus on Jurassic Mainframe and JPToys
Angurius on TohoKingdom

I love all the Jurassic movies, plus Disney's Dinosaur

I feel like introducing modern animals would kind of defeat the goals of the brand. The extinct and fantastical is the brand's whole thing.

BlueKrono

I agree, I don't think extant animals are their purview. They've already got a lot going on. I think the Jumanji rhino is pretty good for an articulated figure tho:

I'd like to see more demure color schemes from BOTM. I can appreciate their bold take on dinosaur colors but sometimes it's just a bit too garish for the eyes. And this is coming from someone who's not too picky about scientific accuracy! Also, I'd like to see them release medieval-style armor packs for all, but especially the ceratopsians.

Concavenator

I'd happily take a 1:18 Microraptor.

crazy8wizard

I thought about how the small dinos from the 1:6th line should get 1:18th figures but I realized that if the jump from 6-18 makes the previously pretty large raptors impressively small, then a 1:18th Microraptor would like the size of a pencil eraser!

Concavenator

avatar_crazy8wizard @crazy8wizard yeah, a 1:18 Microraptor sure would be tiny! And that's precisely why it would be so great to have one, because that way it could scale with its bigger 1:18 relatives. And considering said relatives include taxa so morphologically diverse like Velociraptor, Austroraptor and Utahraptor, that would be a sight to behold!  ;)

It should still be feasible, if they omit the articulation for once, it'd be easier. Perhaps it could be included in some sort of pack (like the so-called "Western" and "Eastern" packs) with other Jehol biota creatures, like Dilong and Sinosauropteryx. Not holding my breath, but a guy can dream.  :P

Oh and in case you didn't know, avatar_Takama @Takama owns a 1:35 Microraptor model!

Granted, that's a resin model, and it's super tiny, but a 1:18 one would be fairly bigger.

crazy8wizard

I have been hoping for a 1:18th Dilong since the first 1:18th dromaeosaurs were shown. The Yixian is one of my favorite formations, so it would go very nicely with my Yutyrannus.

Halichoeres

I think 1:18 is similar to the scale of the Safari Toob Microraptor. Not too hard to make static, but arriculated would be tough. I'd buy it though.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Noideaforaname

I'm hoping for a 1/18 Oviraptor to go with my Velociraptor and Protoceratops.

Amargasaurus and Dunkleosteus would be lovely too. I'd like an Anomalocaris, but maybe that's too small for that scale.

I second the desire for modern animals and outdated restorations, but that less "I want Creative Beasts specifically to do this" and more "I wish other toylines would focus on 1/18-scale articulated animal toys."

Takama

Sauropods & Ornithopods

The latter would be pricey in 1:18, but i would comprimise in 1:35 or smaller

Unless David is willing do what These Guys did

If they can do it, im sure he can with a Sauropod or 2

crazy8wizard

I think a few sauropods would be doable in 1:18th scale, granted not the super famous ones everyone would be asking for but definitely a few notable choices. A 1:18th scale Plateosaurus would be pretty awesome.

crazy8wizard

I know the Hammond Collection Brachiosaurus is around 1:18th scale. Of course, the cost of that line is significantly lower, so price (and weight) would be the biggest concern there if BOTM were to make one.
