I'm waiting for a new big and updated Muttaburrasaurus to try and repaint the CollectA one to make it look like a juvenile for my WS Gryposaurus. They look similar to me and the differences are small given the size of the Mutaburrasaurus..

I think that the Australian Age of Dinosaurs museum is likely to produce a Muttaburrasaurus to put all others to shame.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

That would be great even when it would be hard to get for me hehe

Construction of the basement has resumed at last! I will not bore you all with the infuriating reasons for the delay, but suffice it to say, my opinion of contractors is more jaded than it was before. Anyway, the flooring has been installed and it looks like the colours we chose will ensure that all the rooms are nice and bright. Should be all finished by next week. After that, it's a question of moving in some furniture and then I will FINALLY be able to set up my collection! :D

If you answered this earlier in the thread I apologize, but whats the idea on displaying your collection.  Built in shelves, bookcases, a massive diorama, or keep us in suspense until it is all up and sorted out.

suspsy

Gonna use bookcases with glass doors. It will cut down on have to dust. :)

Congrats on being able to display your collection soon....

... wish I could do same, though I think of getting a single glass shelf to display some more than currently.... can only dream of a separate room for myself :D

laticauda

Good idea.  A store nearby was getting all new glass display cases and I really wanted to get at least one of them.  Of course I don't have the room to put it, and my wife would have killed me if I got one.

Look what got dug out of my in-laws' crawlspace this weekend!

Can't assemble it yet; the basement's still not done. But it's getting there!

Let there be light!

Is that 2 plug sockets next to eachother in the small room?

One is probably for phone or internet.

Not enough. There'll be one display cabinet to display a selection of dinosaurs, there'll be another to display Lego sets, there'll be a bookcase for my library, and there'll be a chair and desk. It's going to end up being rather cosy in there.

Many of us enjoy collecting, there just never seems to be enough room to display everything.

I once had an idea to start a business for people to have a safe place to show off their collections.  Kind of an art gallery meets a storage facility.  Most people do not have enough room in their home for all the things you want to display.  Pay a monthly storage fee, and you rent a space that you can display your stuff, and people can come in and see it. Of course I would probably go broke and all the collections would go back into storage bins.

Anyways, what lego sets do you plan to display.

suspsy

Mostly Ideas and Creator sets, and Super Heroes minifigures. Mixels too if I can cram them in there.

Hey all.

For those who are curious, I'm happy to report that the basement is DONE. I'm even happier to report that I've got my den all set up. I'll post photos in a few weeks once I've acquired more of the new Safari figures. :)
