So I'm pretty darn ecstatic the Ankylosaurus is the JPIII version. Been wanting it for years. Now we just need the Corythosaurus (and maybe the green Parasaurolophus and Brachiosaurus), to complete the species from JPIII, with the upcoming raptors and hopefully a HC Spinosaurus. Just a tad unfortunate the legs lack the markings and there's no claw paint. Either a lack of attention or an intentional budget cut, despite the higher price point of these figures. And yet another herbivore with jaw articulation, but you know, not the Triceratops that needed it more because of the iconic film scene it was in.  ::)

The Geosternbergia is a major step up from the Legacy one except one glaring detail. The lack of pycnofibers on the sculpt is completely unacceptable. It's on the maquette and the concept art. Did they give the source material a quick glance over or did they intentionally choose not to include it? Either way this grates my nerves like the extra digits (and wide head) on the Parasaurolophus or the JW head on the JP raptor, or perhaps more so then those.

Edit: I'll have the images up in the op soon.

True, true, the Dilos are horrible.
Some raptors and Spinosaurs are fine though. MOST... well

These both look alright. Honestly, I was a bit more excited at first, but then I realized that neither had that much screen time; hell, one of them was just a photocopy. I don't like the Jurassic design for the Ankylosaurus and would have much preferred a more concept art accurate pterosaur, maybe even the super fluffy look of the unused animatronic. I might check them out on clearance because they look fun, or just wait until the geosternbergia is given a new head and painted like the JP3 Pteranodon.

avatar_Loon @Loon Why not just pick up the Amber Collection Pteranodon from 2021? Still available from Amazon at least (and it's on sale currently), if not elsewhere:

https://www.amazon.com/Jurassic-World-Amber-Collection-Pteranodon/dp/B08J59PZ9P

Sizes much better with the mainline then it did the Amber Collection stuff.

And speaking about the both of these Jurassic Outpost shared some handy size comparison images of the two:

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin oh, did not know they were the same size. I haven't looked to closely over the promo pics, but size makes me wonder if this new figure shares any of the same parts as the Amber Collection version.

Let's not forget how badly they screwed up the Giga on multiple occasions. I'd go so far as to say that their carnivores turn out looking goofier than their herbivores 9 times out of 10.

Lynx

I didn't see the giga as too bad tbh.

Really weird because they listed the ankylo and geos. Its really frustrating due I bought from them the raptor and malcolm

Currently haven't found a source outside of Reddit, but apparently, the Irritator and Metriacanthosaurus leaked. They're based on the JW website designs (specifically Irritator is based on the Baryonyx, which is seemingly why they threw it in: acknowledge the design while still keeping the Canon Baryonyx in the line)

Seems like an odd move. Couldn't they just say it's the 'Jurassic World' version of Baryonyx instead of 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom'? It's not like other dinosaurs haven't had different designs between movies. Maybe they just want to reduce species repetition where they can.

Quote from: CarnotaurusKing on October 22, 2022, 09:21:52 PMI hope they get around to making the website Suchomimus as well.
YES PLEASE. That design is stellar and I imagine a Hammond Collection version would be a big improvement over the 2018 Action Attack figuretat was loosely based on it. I just hope that they introduce a new price point between the T. rex and the current medium dinosaurs if they ever decide to do it. (+ Carnotaurus, Stegosaurus, Allosaurus, etc.)

Oh, and a large-size JW website Edmontosaurus, please.

That's been discussed since back when the Concavenator and Geosternbergia were leaked, here and on instagram, and elsewhere I'm sure. As with all leaks, I'm still taking it with a grain of salt until more info surfaces confirming those (like credible images or early listings). It's not on Collect Jurassic's site yet either, but all the ones we currently know about were up there ahead of time (with the exception of the Concavenator and Geosternbergia that were leaked ahead of time), before the official images starting showing up (or part of the Beyond the Gates reveals). I know JPToys on the other hand does have them up there however, but they also jumped the gun with a lot of those fake leaks as well, such as the Lythronax, Suchomimus, etc from last year (though have since been removed).

Now if they do actually get made, I would get them though. Always liked the JW website Baryonyx design, and some of the others Csotonyi designed for it, and that design for the Metriacanthosaurus is in JWE & JWE2, and far more appealing then the original Mattel figure.

There are also aren't too many creatures in that size range they could do left at this point, short of repaints, like the Jurassic World Dominion Parasaurolophus, or retools such as the JW Pteranodon. I'm sure I mentioned all of this before, but worth re-iterating I guess. There's really only the:

-Allosaurus juvenile (JWFK)
-Corythosaurus (JPIII)
-Edmontosaurus (JW website design, or JWE/JWE2, only if those two above get made)
-Iguanodon (JWD)
-Nasutoceratops (BaBR/JWD male & female)
-Ouranosaurus (CC)
-Sinoceratops (JWFK)
-Teratophoneus (edit: forgot this one)

Of these I want the Corythosaurus and Nasutoceratops the most. Corythosaurus is long overdue and the Nasutoceratops is one of the better designs in the post JW franchise. The Iguanodon would also be nice considering how off the current figure is to both the film design, and the real animal. It only has the coloration going for it really.

Repaints and retools they could do, however unlikely:
Spoiler
-Ankylosaurus (JW)
-Ankylosaurus Bumpy (CC)
-Parasaurolophus (JP)
-Parasaurolophus (JPIII)
-Parasaurolophus lux (CC-2 or more color variations)
-Parasaurolophus (JWD-3 color variations, but probably the blue striped one in promo material)
-Pteranodon (JW)
-Triceratops (JW)
[close]

It's also interesting to think that the vast majority of the Hammond Collection figures thus far have been from the original trilogy. The only exceptions to that are the Baryonyx from JWFK, and the Concavenator, again also from JWFK. I think we also sorely need a new size/price range so we can get things like the adult Allosaurus, Carnotaurus (JWFK, CC Toro, & JWD "demon"), Quetzalcoatlus, and Stegosaurus as well (in which there's been quite a bit of demand for from what I've seen all over the place like instagram, youtube, here, etc).

Edit: I mean this is kind of already in my film canon figures list, but here's a list of all the HC figures released, or confirmed for now:

Humans:
Dr. Alan Grant (JP)
Dr. Alan Grant (JPIII w/ female Velociraptor)
Dr. Ian Malcom (JP)
Dr. Ellie Sattler (JP)
Ray Arnold (JP)
Robert Muldoon (JP)

Small:
Dilophosaurus (JP)
Gallimimus (JP, but with coloration and sculpt based on the JW website design)
Pachycephalosaurus (TLW)
Velociraptor (JP)
Velociraptor (JPIII male)
Velociraptor (JPIII female w/ Dr. Alan Grant)

Medium:
Ankylosaurus (JPIII, but sculpt based on JW design)
Baryonyx (JWFK)
Ceratosaurus (JPIII)
Concavenator (JWFK, Lockwood Manor display)
Geosternbergia (TLW, unused design)
Parasaurolophus (TLW, but with coloration based on the JW film design, and sculpt not really based on either, because of the wide head and inaccurate digits)
Triceratops (JP)

Large:
Tyrannosaurus (JP)

I was going to comment about how if the Metriacanthosaurus actually happens it would be hard to resist since I´m a sucker for the JW website/JW Evolution design. But the current uncertainty of not knowing if retailers like amazon or BBTS will carry future HC releases leaves me in a bad mood.

I'd expect the Carnotaurus would also be in this size range, right? (That's one of the figures I'm hoping for the most)

Faelrin

Possibly, but every other figure of it (prior to the Dominion young Carnotaurus) has been a medium large, or large figure. But yeah that's also one of the ones I want to see done the most as well.

Huh, that's interesting. So does Mattel designate official release years that differ from actual release dates, like a car company (or like Safari in the past)?
