avatar_Sim @Sim avatar_brettnj @brettnj would probably be the one to know. I know he typically posts when things become available to order. My other idea would be to keep an eye out on Japanese auction sites in case any start popping up.

I've already seen the Ornitholestes in a loose dinosaur lot on Mercari, but I didn't buy it because I didn't want to deal with a bunch of accompanying offal.

Thanks Faelrin!  I'm surprised you've seen one already Tim, as last time I looked the new ones didn't seem to be on Eikoh's website.

Yeah, all I can think of is that they're only selling them elsewhere. Their larger figures are arcade prizes, for example.

Not starting a "Qualia-New for 2023" thread because I think it would disappoint people, but they are making these little gashapon plush toys:

Pteranodon, Mosasaurus, Spinosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, and a ~~secret~~

They're very cute.  The only one I couldn't work out without resorting to your key was....  the Tyrannosaurus.  Duh!

Ha ha, to be fair it is pretty indistinct.

This year's first Kabaya Hone Hone Zaurus kit (that I know of):

Main models are Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Quetzalcoatlus, and Elasmosaurus. They come with little accessory dinos in various colors: Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Ceratosaurus, and Allosaurus.

So the Dino Expo event is also going to have exclusive(?) Ankylosaurus and Deinonychus Zoids. Figured I'd mention this for anyone interested in this. You can see the images of them here: https://dino2023.exhibit.jp/goods/

Ha, didn't see that coming. I once contemplated buying the Zoids Unenlagia, but although I tolerate stylized versions of extinct animals, in the end robot versions were a bridge too far.

Here's a screen shot:

Zoids Ankylosaurus and Deinonychus

Meanwhile, Bandai released this set of cutesy dinosaur capsule figures in new colors:

Parasaurolophus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Carnotaurus, Spinosaurus

And another robotic toy:

Bandai is releasing another one of those snap together skeletons, after their Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus it is Mosasaurus' turn. Release is due for August, around $35, in approximately 1:32 scale.

Paleo Flo

Nice! A just buyed the Tyrannosaurus rex or as I called it...the jumping Rex...or - based on the box art - the Pantheon Rex.
I had been in Rome threetimes but there was no T-Rex in the Pantheon. What a pitty  ;D

1:35 Futabasaurus by Wave, seems to come with different neck and head pieces.

Went on BBTS to check something for my wip BotM reviews when I noticed this Bandai Planosaurus Spinosaurus kit. I don't know what scale it is in, but it looks nice, and seems to have a bit of articulation to it. Assuming it is around 1/35 scale it might make a nice companion to the 1/35 BotM T. rex, and sub adult Triceratops, or possibly Kaiyodo's T. rex as well. I only wish it had a brighter coloration, as it is a bit drab.

That Spinosaurus isn't bad, but I'm actually more interested in this one by Megahouse (which I think is a Bandai subsidiary). Similar concept, but better execution in my opinion.

And it comes with a fish, which appeals to me. It isn't specifically identified, but it's clearly a mawsoniid coelacanth.

The coelacanth also has a skeleton side, and it's really well done. It shows the characteristic absence of vertebral centra and the bony plate surrounding the lung. They actually did research for this.

On the Plannosaurus Mosasaurus, the tail is a pity, but the base is actually pretty thoughtfully done. I think those are rudist bivalves along the bottom, extinct clams that secreted a calcium carbonate platform underneath themselves to elevate themselves into a current where they could filter feed more effectively.

The Wave Futabasaurus is the subject of the first post in this thread :)

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres Thanks for sharing that. Looks like a really impressive set. The fish is a really nice touch, especially that one can get an inside look at its internal anatomy as well. Glad to see they did their research with it as well. I think the coloration on this one appeals to me more, with the white belly, and the orange on the edge of the sail, despite the otherwise simulation body coloration between the two. Glad to see it is pretty cheap too, and coming much later in the year, so I pre-ordered it for now.]

Edit: Also yes, MegaHouse is still Bandai:
https://shop.bandai.com/megahouse

QuoteMegaHouse is a major Japanese toy manufacturer and BANDAI Group company. Originally founded in 1962 as Kaken, the company was purchased by BANDAI and merged with BANDAI subsidiaries Angel and B-AI in 1997 to become MegaHouse.
The origin of the company name is a combination of the acronym Mega, Make (produce) Enjoy (enjoy) Global (worldwide) Ability (talent), and House, which likens the company to a family community. And, as the word mega itself means "huge," MegaHouse also reflects the company's philosophy to provide dreams to our customers through its imagination and adventurous spirit.

I also did a search, and it turned up this Mosasaurus, which I think released last year right? The eyes are bit on the cutesy side, but otherwise the anatomy looks handled really well. Think I might have to get this one too later.

I hope they do more of these sets with prehistoric animals. Not a whole lot of things like this on the market. I mean the last one like this I can recall was the Mattel Jurassic World STEM T. rex set that released in 2018.

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres, i think that is the first non-resin figurine of a standing fintail Spinosaurus to be released.
