Goodevening everyone ;D
I could not find anything about this line yet. So according to https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=pfbid0xM2DcKonvzjuodA9kahQPjycsVf2BakBRoU9vWf1X46SS6UbCfj6PjBbvNvyjo2Vl&id=100066892290400 Paleofiguras. There will be a new line of dinosaurs, starting with a Sinoceratops 1:72 painted and with a base. 5,7 cm long 2,7cm wide and 4 cm high. I don't know about you but I think it looks awesome!!

avatar_Concavenator @Concavenator mentioned them in the dinotoycollector thread, but it's probably good to have a dedicated thread for them!

1:72 is too big for an HO scale train layout, unfortunately.  ;D

Oh okay, well glad I made the thread. Hope more will follow. You collect scale trains? Hope more species will follow. Will you buy it?

Somehow it actually looks really adorable, to me. Looks like it's on a mission, that gait and that "best foot forward" stance!

I don't collect trains, but there is a part of me that finds the idea of a train wending through a dino-populated landscape appealing.

As for whether I'll buy it, for now I'm leaning no since I usually prefer a larger scale, but it is tempting.

I'm not dismissing it out of hand, which I often do for things this size.

The feet appear to have little pegs that fit into the base. That's a nice, stable arrangement, much like Colorata uses with their dinosaurs. But I know some people don't like it because it doesn't play nice with other substrates.

Paleofiguras posted these pics:

Sinoceratops aside, looks like we also have Zhuchengtyrannus. I'd ID the hadrosaurid as Shantungosaurus, the sauropod as Zhuchengtitan and the ankylosaurid as Sinankylosaurus.

Taxon-wise, I'm still only interested in the Sinoceratops, but based on the little we've seen from these guys, I'm liking these a lot! These are beautiful figures. Nevermind the small scale.

Quiversaurus

The Shantungosaurus has a great colour scheme. Reminds me of mango and papaya...

Flaffy

Very excited for these. Was hoping for a smaller Shantungosaurus than the PNSO one. Can't wait to get the set!

And yes, my suggested IDs were correct.

Roar

Yes!! They are.. beautiful!!!!!!good heavens!! I can't wait to start a new collection.

These look really nice. I like the formation-based approach.

Indeed. If these sell well I'm hoping for more Chinese formations! Yixian seems an obvious second choice ;)

I'd prefer Maotianshan or Chengjiang myself.

Same, but something tells me a 1/72 Microdictyon will be incredibly difficult to pull off.

Halichoeres

As much as I'd love some Silurian fish, Permian synapsids, or Triassic sauropsids from this line, it does seem that 1:72 restricts them to large animals. Marine reptiles or sharks wouldn't be out of the question, though!

Paleofiguras also says they have plans to release another version at a larger scale, and that the other previously shown figures will probably be released in a monthly basis. They also state that, in case they ever release a figure of a small animal, it would be made at a larger scale than 1:72.

After thinking about it, I no longer plan to get this Sinoceratops as I've lost interest in the species. I also don't plan to get any of the other shown figures, even if the figures themselves are pretty nice, just because I don't care about those genera. I do hope they sell really well though, if they venture into the Jehol biota, they'll definitely grab my attention! These figures look really good, especially for being their first try at dinosaurs.
