Safari 2025 wishes and hopes

Here we can post what we'd like from Safari for 2025!

I'd like:

1. Torvosaurus tanneri.  This is my most-wanted prehistoric species as I would like to replace my inaccurate-headed PNSO version.

2. Feathered Rhamphorhynchus.  Rhamphorhynchus is so well-known from fossils and is iconic, it was also named almost 200 years ago.  It needs a good figure!

3. Saurornithoides.  The first troodontid known from a skeleton, as opposed to just teeth.  It would go well with the Safari 2017 Velociraptor!

4. Herrerasaurus.  The most common carnivore in its ecosystem and a very interesting and important species!

5. Plateosaurus.  This is so needed...

6. Edmontonia rugosidens.  I'm surprised Safari hasn't made this yet!  It looks intimidating and unique with its spiny armour.

7. Zhenyuanlong.  Safari's dromaeosaurids are all in different poses, and I think a Zhenyuanlong could work well in a running or jumping pose!  Zhenyuanlong was built for running, with its long legs.  It would also be interesting to have an accurate figure of this important dromaeosaurid, I think one by Safari would be spectacular!

8. Gallimimus.  Someone has to make a good figure of Gallimimus!

9. Dromaeosaurid/raptor toob.  I think it would be so good to have small dromaeosaurid figures with Safari's high quality!  I'd like this toob to include mini figures based on Safari's 2017 Microraptor and Velociraptor, and 2020 Deinonychus.  I've suggested this to Safari and they responded positively to it, so maybe they will make this!  Other species I would love to have from this toob are Buitreraptor, Dromaeosaurus and Linheraptor (could be a repainted Velociraptor I think).  Atrociraptor could also be included as a repainted Dromaeosaurus I think!

10. Pterosaur toob.  It would need to include a feathered Rhamphorhynchus, and maybe a Scaphognathus too which is another important pterosaur (first to have feathers preserved, first prehistoric animal to be reconstructed in environment, interesting as a very powerfully built predator).

I agree with all of these but it does seem like these wishes and hopes threads are tending to get a little homogenous with similar requests.

Gonna throw in a curveball and suggest some unusual hopes that I haven't requested before. Most of these have really really low likelihoods of ever happening from a company as mainstream as Safari, but it's fun to imagine.

Hyperodapedon/"Scaphonyx": Extremely unlikely from safari, but I think that the if the trope of "big weird creature" works well enough for Estemmenosuchus and Shringasaurus, it might be worth a shot. The only other rhynchosaur figures are a party favor that sometimes is a different genus entirely, a figure from Happy Kin that's really more dicynodont than rhynchosaur, and an extremely rare capsule mini from a long since discontinued set.

Plesiosaurus: It's a little wild to me how the only plesiosaurid safari has is Elasmosaurus. Even the pliosaurs have two genera.

Lessemsaurus: There's a bit of an issue when it comes to Triassic dinosaurs in that due to how basal they are a lot of them look really similar, not to mention the same 3 always get brought up: Coelophysis, Herrerasaurus, and Plateosaurus. I understand that these are the most famous, best represented, and most starkly different looking Triassic dinosaurs. While I do love all 3 of these and the latter two are in desperate need of an update, I think branching out couldn't hurt either. Lessemsaurus fits the bill of looking bulkier and more stocky than plateosaurus but also looking less like a typical Camarasaurus or Apatosaurus to really stand out. Speaking of weird sauropods...

Brachytrachelopan: If basal sauropods are a novelty, then short necked sauropods are even more so. It's just unusual enough to really stand out.

Magnapaulia: Safari only has one hadrosaur that hasn't been retired yet and it's the one that everyone and their grandma has made. Magnapaulia was frighteningly gigantic, even by hadrosaur standards, so a BIG hadrosaur would be really cool to see. Shantungosaurus would be a good fit for this too, although there are at least a few figures of that genus (amusingly most being miniature)

Elengassen

Saurolophus. I actually want one from PNSO or Haolonggood (and I think there's a good chance we'll get one eventually) but I'll happily take a Safari one if it's as good as their Gryposaurus.
One day we will know the truth about Spinosaurus... but not today.

triceratops83

Well, Plateosaurus as per usual, although I'm not dying for one as the PNSO Lufengosaurus is filling in for it at the moment (finally replacing the old CollectA Plateosaurus.)

And, I don't care whether it's Safari or CollectA, but I'd like a 1:35 Rhomaleosaurus.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Pachyrhinosaurus

Another wishlist thread and another unrealistic list from me. I'd definitely like to see more diversity beyond just dinosaurs and the Mesozoic, though.

Struthiomimus
Plateosaurus
Bothriolepis
Gyracanthus
Phacops rana
Wanneria
Pterygotus
Mesosaurus
Lepidodendron
Arthropleura
Edaphosaurus
Anaschisma or Eryops
South Island Giant Moa
Columbian Mammoth
Merycoidodon
Basilosaurus

I think there's a lot of untapped potential when it comes to making animals that are common in the fossil trade. I'm sure there are lots of collectors would want figures of species they have fossils of.

Halichoeres

A pterosaur Toob would be amazing, but I'm not holding my breath. The last prehistoric Toob they made was the Cambrian Life one in 2013, and that one has been discontinued for a while.

avatar_Pachyrhinosaurus @Pachyrhinosaurus I'd buy almost everything on your list, but you and I might be the only ones doing so.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Albertaceratops
Camptosaurus
Muttaburrasaurus
Tenontosaurus

I won't bother listing smaller species like Hypsilophodon since they have ZERO chance of being made.

I'm just going to list three of my usual favourite wishes: Brachytrachelopan, Arctotherium, and Megatherium. A BIG Megatherium as opposed to Safari's old little one.
