That Jaekolopterus looks exciting, I´ll definitely get myslef one shortly after its release!

Samrukia

i am glad that the rumoured list turned out to be rumours, not only because of species' but also because it's more fun to keep an intrigue going

JimoAi

genuine question is Jaekolopterus 2.5m from the claw tip to tail or head to tail tip

SenSx

The Jaekelopterus is exciting, but it will probably be too big my my taste if it's truly 1/20.
Unless it can fit for the biggest size estimation ?

They finally did it. Wow. Glad to see another arthropod from them, and the largest eurypterid some of us have been asking for some years now from them. I wonder if they will do Arthropleura some day, especially with the new findings.

Surprised to see them ditch the butt qills. Wonder what got them to do it?

Edit: Love the little jawless fish dinner included with the eurypterid as well. Any idea on the id of that one?

from head; arthropod measurement never include appendages.

Incredibly excited for this, I've been wanting a widely available eurypterid for a while (importing e.g Kaiyodo stuff is always a bit iffy with customs lol) and that Jaekelopterus is beyond stunning!

Carnoking

Well, if the list is out the window I'll be sorely disappointed not to see a lystrosaur!

Gwangi

Well we might not get a Prionosuchus but a Jaekelopterus is just as exciting for me. And it's nice to see them ditch the butt fuzz on their ceratopsians, this might be the first CollectA ceratopsian I add to my collection.

JimoAi

any idea on the extant animals reveals?

ceratopsian

Furcatoceratops had rather passed me by, though when I checked it out today I then remembered it being named. It just hadn't stuck in my brain. I'm pleased with both these reveals (especially the dropping of the quills!) and will almost certainly buy both.

MLMjp

I would have welcomed the Pentaceratops from that fake list if it turned out to be in 1:35 scale...but everything else would have been a pass.

These two are also a pass, waiting for the next batch of reveals.

I'm also happy the list turned out to be fake, because there was not a single species there that interested me (though I admit the Prionosuchus piqued my interest). I guess there's a chance now, although none of these two interest me either. Still glad for all those who are happy with them. Bet avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres will be super happy about the Jaekelopterus!

Quote from: Flaffy on November 01, 2024, 02:17:45 AMI'm glad that CollectA is finally doing away with the butt fuzz.

Yeah, an achievement that is! Since they were giving quills to their ceratopsids since as late as 2023 (Triceratops), I thought that was never going to change. Glad that it's not the case!

The scale diagrams on wikipedia and prehistoric-wildlife.com indicate it's from the head to the tail, and this page of the book The Earth: A Biography of Life by paleontologist Elsa Panciroli also says "2.6 metres (8.5 feet) from head to tail".

Looking forward to this one, I have some shelves for models in 1:18-1:20 scale, Jurassic and Cretaceous are mostly Creative Beasts models and the other two shelves mostly CollectA, Jaekelopterus will make a nice addition to the pre-Jurassic shelf.

Yeah, the Jaekelopterus is pretty exciting! As far as I can tell they did an excellent job with it.

I'm also happy to see they've shaved their ceratopsians.

2/2 so far this year.

I was under the impression that the Furcatoceratops had a furry coat, but the Everything Dinosaur YouTube upload zooms in on the photos and it turns out that's just thin, lateral, black paintwork.
Although it might need a repaint to better bring out the regular scale detail, the Furcatoceratops looks great!

Every invertebrate from CollectA is great news. I'm happy they're finally doing a sea scorpion! They should totally do one like Megalograptus, next. I was impressed by the feet on their Redlechia rex, so I feel like they would do nice work on the prong-claws.

Figures that come with prey attached aren't really to my liking. It's why I still haven't got their Quetzalcoatlus to this day. But I might have to make an exception for this.

I'm hoping for more invertebrate reveals , there are so many interesting ammonites they could make. And then you have the possibility of the much requested T. rex update...
