The only Daspletosaurus I know of is a tiny Playvision one.

DC

I believe Play Vision was the first.  Initial runs mixed up Daspletosaurus and Iguanodon so the stamps were switched.  This was fixed later.

Never saw those figures before. Some of them look exactly like Paninis but with wilder paint jobs. Where can I find more about these?

Here is my set.
This is the least desirable of the mini sets.  There small and the sculpts are not well detailed.  The Theropods all have the Kangaroo posture.  However they do have some unusaul species including Anatosaurus, Corythosaurus, Cynognathus, Daspleosaurus, Ouranosaurus, Paleoscincus, Polacanthus, Psitticasaurus, Protoceratops and of course the mini-dino Moropus!

Here's Geoworlds Alberto

Yes, its not very good, but I wish to draw your attention to the feathery texture

Thanks for the info. It seems either Panini copied PV or vice versa. Most of those unusual species were featured among the Paninisaurs too.

@ Stoneage, is that set still generally availible or how would someone go about getting it? (of course I am after the psittacosaurus in paticular.)
Authors with varying competence have suggested dinosaurs disappeared because of meteorites...God's will, raids by little green hunters in flying saucers, lack of standing room in Noah's Ark, and palaeoweltschmerz—Glenn Jepsen

You can get them here for 99 cents.  http://www.tgftoys.com/Habitat-Earth-Dinosaurs-PV0656.htm?ebay=

Interestingly the set does not list a  psittacosaurus or indicate one is included !!!! Thanks for the information Stoneage, apparently the psittacosaurus is called something else?

If you look at my picture the Psitticasaurus is the one in the second row from the left, third one from the top.  It is tan with brown stripes.  It has the kangaroo pose.  Sorry I don't have a better picture.

Play Vision was a distributor for the figures. They mostly did not own their molds which turned out to be a big problem for them later with copies.  The last place in the US that I saw them sold was Toy Smith.
Panini has a very similar set slightly smaller and unpainted.  It is still sold by party suppliers.
Another similar set was by Mech that had fewer animals but is hard to to tell from Panini.

On the link you posted they require you to name the dinosaur being ordered, which is problematic as I do not know what they are calling it. They do not allow an option for psittacosaurus, so do you have even a guess what name they have given it?

If you can tell me what picture your looking at, I can tell you the name.

amargasaurus cazaui

In your picture, the one you identify as psittacosaurus, in the link you posted is the same dinosaur in the middle row , back figure......thats the dinosaur whose name I need. The link you posted offers them all, but wants a name and psittacosaurus is not an option. It really does not matter which picture I am looking at ....what name are they using for the figure you identified as psittacosaurus?

Now I see what the problem is.  The one you identified is the Psitticasaurus.  There are 24 figures in the set and although they picture them all, they only list 19 names.  Anatosaurus, Cynognathus, Ouranosaurus Protoceratops and Psitticasaurus are not listed to order.  I'm sorry I didn't see that.  I suggest you E-mail them and see if they have it or will get it.  Hopefully there are some left.  Good luck and let me know if you find anything out.
