If anyone is looking to buy an Invicta stand now's a good time, these are selling for a great price.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/INVICTA-BRITISH-MUSEUM-NATURAL-HISTORY-WHALE-ANIMAL-DISPLAY-STAND-HOLDER-WHITE/371376682312?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131003132420%26meid%3D7fd6e7af5e8f407fb09c223fb7963f94%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D2%26sd%3D131572955210

The stand is a pretty good price but as usual eBay "you know whats" us in Canada with shipping,  $15.34. You could probably throw this in a padded envelope and mail it here for under $2 from the States!

Yeah shipping is often a problem on ebay.com, I just thought it would be a good buy for anyone living in the US.
It's marked at $18 to ship to the UK...crazy

I haven't bought a thing from ebay (from a US seller) since they implemented that new international system. Part of the problem is that the brokerage, etc, is often not even required by Customs, and the postage, as everyone has noted, is exorbitant. Every other country, no problem (admittedly, I don't ebay much at all anymore).

Thank you, I'll keep that in mind. I already have two of these stands I was just lamenting the high cost of eBay shipping to Canada. Thankfully I built my collection before the gouging started. I still have a few on my wish list but I avoid the ones that charge too much.

In the long run Ebay.com really aren't doing themselves any favours.
I used to buy a lot from the US but now I just stick to the UK site.

Big lot of dinosaurs with a WWD postosuchus and some other decent pieces. Does anyone recognise the toy that is orange with black stripes next to the postosuchus?

Depending on its size it is one of two versions of Disney's Alioramus from the Dinosaur Ride at Disney World FLA. If it is 4.25" long it is from the current set of "Dinosaur Collectibles Figures" that is a park exclusive. If it is 3.0" long then it is a part of a micro set for the ride when it was called Countdown to Extinction that included the Alioramus, a Carnotaurus, Styracosaurus, Velociraptor, two skeletons, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy & Pluto. It was also a park exclusive. The three dinos from the micro set were enlarged for the current set which also includes two new dinosaurs, see image below. The Alioramus figure is top right hand side. The micro figures are more rare.

The seller has two available. So they customised two!

Although I think this is rather based on the mold and not a custom.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Someone customised a Sideshow Tyrannosaurus?! Blasphemy >:D

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CATTOYS-Tyrannosaurus-T-rex-Dinosaur-HUGE-Figure-Model-Jurassic-/?hash=item463f6b6cee

At first glance, that looks like Shinzen's old, laying-down Trex model that has been painted similar to Krentz's Sideshow Trex.  (From Shinzen's Trex "Growth" series)

However that does indeed look like the Krentz Trex head - so is it a full-out custom of Sideshow - or just the sideshow head grafted onto the Shinzen sculpt?

What do you think?  Here is the Shinzen resting Trex as seen on Dan's Dinosaurs - the head is clearly different, but the body appears to be the same.

My guess is that what what we have in that ebay auction is a kitbash of recasts of those two models - done very well.

Shinzen's model:

Exactly right.  What you have here is a casting of a kitbash that incorporates features of two different models that are in the same scale (ie Sideshow Krentz and Shinzen's resting old TRex).  Whatever way you look at it, its ripping off one, maybe two different artists - note that it "ships direct from China" ... "Recast Central" of the Far East "Recast Ring" ...

Blade-of-the-Moon

I saw this last month..and yeah it's a weird mix of the two. I love David's Rex but I don't need his head on a different body.

Wish they just could release the Growth series in a pre-built form officially.

It's not the Shinzen Tyrannosaurus. I would know because I own the kit and it doesn't look that that. The detailing is different :)

Most likely it's a Sideshow T.rex that has been hacked up and puttied. The pose looks heavily inspired by the Shinzen old rex though.

Scratch that, I just saw the other photos and it is. Pretty nice custom job. I wouldn't buy it though.
