I want them, but can't.  :( Under other circumstances, I wouldn't have hesitated at that price. Simply because I also doubt I could find a complete, mint set cheaper anywhere.

I've seen them in the regular BMNH packaging (the boxes with multiple figures and such), but these single figure boxes are definitely new to me as well. Wonder how many Invictasaurs saw such a release in Japan...

Oh man, this must be a joke!
It is a British figure. Just because some shrewd Japanese businessman makes a box and puts the figure into it, doesn't make it more special to me.
By the way - the shipping costs are ridiculous. I'm sure this is dupery, but now - as the Japanese businessman has been successful - I'm expecting more to come :)) :P.
Anyway, I'm not a box collector.

I have seen something similar done with transformer figures, where a seller creates a custom box like this to make it more....artsy and seem more limited. I cannot say for sure, but this has that same glitzy look to it.

What reason do you have to doubt these? Has Invicta not been released in Japan to your knowledge? They look pretty authentic to me. And if they're not, they're excellent customs!

I saw the ceti once on Jauce. I guess I should have gone for it..
My living room smells like old plastic dinosaur toys... Better than air freshener!

Roselaar, I don't think postsaurischian doubts that these are genuine Invictas, but rather doubts that the boxes were released by or in cooperation with Invicta. :) I must say, I don't believe in these boxes either... :-\

They quite clearly exist, so what's not to believe in. Unless you doubt that they are official--which may or may not be true, since for a long time Invicta was one of the very few good dino figure companies.

Roselaar

I have little trouble to believe Invicta was released in Japan. Like Sbell said, Invicta was the top dinosaur line for quite a while, and we all know Japan to be a very dinosaur loving country. Plus, the design of Invicta releases in different countries has been known to vary. The American and British releases also differed from one another.

brontodocus

I implicated that I don't doubt these are genuine Invictas. And of course it's plausible that they were released in Japan, too. But I was sceptical about if the boxes were by any means affiliated with Invicta Plastics itself or if somebody (be it a private person or a company) was trying to make more money out of previously unboxed Invictas. At least something that should be taken into consideration. But now there's something else...
I've just looked at the item description: "This is Prehistoric World Iguanodon Figure, The British Museum (Natural History) Authenticated, Dinosaurs Models Series, 1/45 scale Design Centre London, Made in England and Assembled in Japan, 1988 Epock Co.,Ltd..."
Is it possible that it's "Epoch" instead of "Epock", properly? Okay, now to find out if Invicta and Epoch had a joint venture, if they did it would all make sense, of course.
