Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Reviving an old but fun thread.

Spotted an Invicta Diplodocus and Brachiosaurus, and a number of Chinasaurs, in Ready Player One.

Anyone else found some neat dinosaur toys in TV shows/movies since 2016? Let's not forget the various dinosaur toys shown with the Compy in the JW:FK trailer.

In the german tv series "Beck is back", which is about a ( non-bloodsucking ) laywer, the titular Hannes Beck, returning from being a "stay at home dad",  there is a Schleich Giganotosaurus in the kitchen.

Oops...

But I forgive them...  ;)

Obviously the Nun is set in the same universe as "The Evil Dead" and someone time traveled using the Necronomicon. Or not.

THe TLW Bull Rex appears in the intro of "The Stanley Dynamic"

Just saw Bumblebee, I spotted a few figures in the background of the nerdy guys room. I couldn't make anything out specifically, but I think, I saw a large styracosaurus figure on his shelf.

Someone on Mastodon just mentioned that there are some dinosaur toys in Stranger Things, and commented that they look a bit too modern for the 80s (see: https://sauropods.win/@[email protected]/109636314694403262) The T. rex even gets named Rory. I found these screenshots.

I don't recognise the toys, which makes me suspect they are non-brand 'Made in China'-saurs. Do any of you recognise them?

It's a Boley branded dinosaur from Dollar General. I see a Parasaurolophus there too and my daughter has the same one, also from the Dollar General. You can see them in this Amazon listing avatar_DinoToyForum @dinotoyforum

Thanks. At first glance I couldn't see the similarity, but I think you're right. Rory isn't a T. rex but a five-fingered generic theropod.

I am not sure if this has been mentioned (haven't really followed this post and don't feel like scrolling through 6 pages of posts), but as I kid I remember seeing the Toho film, All Monsters Attack (probably my least favorite of the Toho Godzilla films) and seeing a dinosaur toy I myself had (at least the same sculpt). In hindsight as an animal toy collector, I think it was a Marx Brontosaurus/Apatosaurus (or a knockoff using the same sculpt, as they showed up a lot in playsets in the 1970s and 1980s.

As I mentioned in the review I just submitted, the Primal Rage Talon figure is shown in the 1997 film As Good as it Gets:

In the episode "Brothers" from "Star Trek: Next Genertion" the Invicta Brachiosaurus can be seen.

Earlier today I was browsing Wikipedia and stumbled upon a Jurassic Park themed pinball machine. In this machine I noticed that there are two Carnegie Collection Pteranodons inside (or copies of them at least)

This got me wondering, how many other cameos of recognizable dinosaur toys are there in media?
The first one that comes to mind are the figures Charlie and Alan are seen playing with in Jurassic Park 3, which of them the only ones I was able to recognize are the Carnegie Brachiosaurus, Wild Safari Velociraptor, and UKRD Allosaurus

I also remember a scene in Mrs. Doubtfire where there is a desk filled with assorted Tyco Dino-Riders toys

Now, these are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head but I want to know, does anyone else here recall specific dinosaur figures in movies, TV shows, or other pieces of media? I will update this thread if I can think of any others

Nice idea for a thread. There are more;
The Safari ltd Carnegie 1988 T-Rex on a shelf in the scene where Ellie is about to enter the palaeontologists' trailer and meet Hammond in Jurassic Park;

In the same scene, the 1993 Carnegie Diplodocus can be seen behind Ellie;

In Jurassic World, there's a bunch of cheap, dollar store dinosaur toys on Lowery's desk;

And in the trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, there's a scene where a Compsognathus is on a table or shelf? With many dinosaur toys in an abandoned souvenir shop;

Starting from the right hand side to the left, there appears to be a first sculpt of the Schleich Giganotosaurus or maybe a bootleg, a Recur T-Rex, Hasbro Jurassic World Ankylosaurus, Dilophosaurus, what appears to be a Chap Mei T-Rex and a  Hasbro Jurassic World T-Rex. There are others but I don't know their brands.

We do have a thread like this already, but it seems to be buried under lots of other threads. Let me see...

avatar_Libraraptor @Libraraptor It was linked in the general discussion thread by avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres, after I made a few posts like this there, since I couldn't remember if we had one or not.

That small spiky theropod by the RECUR T.rex seems to be the JP09 Allosurus figure made by Hasbro

Sorry for the small image size.

I want to think the Giganotosaurus is a gag teasing the next movie or the early cut giganotosaurus scene in FK, but knowing this film trilogy that's almost certainly not the case.
