Everything Dinosaur team members have been working with Collecta for some time to co-ordinate notification with regards to the last of the 2014 releases.  We can now confirm that there will be two extra additions to the company's Prehistoric Life range.  First, there is going to be a Quetzalcoatlus with prey figure, it measures approximately 13cm tall with a length of just over 11cm.  The other release is another Ceratopsian - Xenoceratops.  Xenoceratops measures 13.5cm long and stands just under 7cm at its highest point.

These models are in the company's standard range.  We hope to have permission to show pics shortly.  We are working with Collecta with regards to production.  It is our intention to get delivery of all the new Collecta models as quickly as possible.  We are tentatively planning to have the stock in the UK in February 2014.

The Quetz sounds nice..haven't been super impressed witht he majority of their ceratopsians before though. Maybe this year that will change.

So is that all of them now or are there still more ?

Yes, I will be more disappointed if this turns to be another low grade year

I predicted the Xeno  8)
The Quetz sounds cool, however,I hope the quality will be better even that the Hatz.

Well,we'll be getting  5 figures in 2014 from CollectA:one Deluxe,four standard.
I think it's better to have few (but awesome ) figures than having 20 dinosaurs and pretty bad ones, like CollectA did several years ago.

13cm? Sounds too small for a Quetzalcoatlus imo. It's not even the same size as the Hatzegopteryx :-\ The Xenoceratops is a maybe, depending on well it's sculpted.

The only thing I'm buying for definite from CollectA this year is the Carcharodontosaurus.

Everything_Dinosaur

It's an interesting model and we will post up pics as soon as we can.  We have the actual dimensions if you want them, we tend to round things just to make our inventory management easier.  Any thoughts as to the prey?

Everything_Dinosaur

Unless Collecta R&D spring a surprise on us, there should be no more prehistoric life model introductions for at least the first six months of 2014, and probably until the end of the year.  In total there are 24 figures being made, with each of the company's main ranges - Wild, Farm, Sea Life, etc getting 5 each.

Any speculations on the prey captured by the Quetzalcoatlus?  An Azhdarchid Pterosaur with a fish?  A crocodile? A mammal?  A dinosaur, if a dinosaur what genus?  Any thoughts?  We will post up the answer shortly and pics will be along hopefully not before too long.

Krissy

The Carcharodontosaurus looks beautiful. I hope it's a decent size. The only semi-decent Carcharodontosaurid I own is the Carnegie Giganotosaurus, and that's got problems.

It's pretty hard to tell who your statement is directed towards if you don't use the quote button, or refer to other members by username.

So that's what the quote button is for, thanks for the head's up we will try to use this next time.

*sigh* Way to disappoint with no Cenozoic animals this year. At least Mojo's doing a Basilosaurus.

amargasaurus cazaui

Guessing the quetz is sitting there chomping sauropod hatchlings like appetizers at the sunday brunch bar !!!
Authors with varying competence have suggested dinosaurs disappeared because of meteorites...God's will, raids by little green hunters in flying saucers, lack of standing room in Noah's Ark, and palaeoweltschmerz—Glenn Jepsen

SpartanSquat

Good to see Xeno. The thing I like from Collecta is the variety of dinosaurs. I hope to see a Yutyrannus!

I'm still wondering where their figures for this year are!  :-\

Roselaar

Quetz and Xeno sounds good, though only five figures (even less than last year) is indeed somewhat disappointing. I guess the days of Collecta releasing 20 figures a year are gone. And 2011/2012 proved 20 figures a year doesn't necessarily mean a lack of quality.

I would prefer a Quetz with a baby dinosaur, there's enough Pterosaurs nibbling on fish already. A baby Sauropod would be neat, especially if it's a mostly neglected species.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I would assume the Quetz is eating a baby dino..probably a sauropod of some sort but maybe a tyrannosaur ?

I thought CollectA was going to start producing more figures again for 2014 ?  If I recall correctly there was a reason we had so few this past year and they were going to be going back to a large variety of releases again.

The first three shown so far I like and would buy. Having not seen these last two I'm unsure about those.

Concavenator

Everything Dinosqur have said Quetz's prey is a young Alamosaurus.

Takama

alas, Im disappointed with the fewer figures >:(

Concavenator

Ooh,and when will the Ichthyovenator with base picture be relased?  ???
