Latest models from Collecta and available in the summer of 2014.  We can now reveal that one or two wishes have been granted. Firstly, we have a feathered Tyrannosaur.  A not to scale model of Bistahieversor is being introduced next year.  The model measures around 20cm in length and as you can see it has feathers.  A Tyrannosaur from New Mexico.

Late Jurassic Theropods are also included in this latest batch of releases, say hello to Saurophaganax, it measures around the 20cm mark as well and the figure is posed as if it is bending over the dead Stegosaurus figure that is due to be introduced earlier in 2014.

Last one for the time being, a wonderful 27cm long model of a Mosasaurus complete with tail fluke and it has even got its pterygoid teeth in the roof of its upper jaw.  Again this is available in the summer of 2014.  We will blog about them at length no doubt, all models scheduled for production in the spring of next year and after shipping we would expect them at Everything Dinosaur in the early summer perhaps.

Feedback, comments, most welcome as usual.

[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

Wow..good thing I was up a bit later tonight.

The Bistahieversor looks pretty good..though the tuft of feathers directly behind it's head is a bit off putting for some reason..just feels out of place stuck there.   I like the base. I just hope the ankles are sturdy enough to hold up the figure from sagging.

Saurophaganax ? Let's just say Allosaurus eh ?  lol  Pose looks good, especially when paired with the dead Stegosaurus.  The color seems a little too familiar though.

Mosasaurus is MUCH more impressive than the past Tylosaurus which I never even considered buying. I suspect Adam can weigh in much better on this guy..if he didn't help design it.. lol  The colors on it look really nice.

I must say I'm impressed by these three pics :) ..... finally another step forwards by CollectA!

Oh, the Mosasaurus is a must have for me! Looks great!   8)

Biestahieversor and Mosasaurus are definitely on my buying list. So cool! The Saurophaganax is a strong maybe, but I'm going to get the stego carcass so I might as well get it if it's meant as a companion.

The Mosasaurus looks awesome. Judging from those tiny pics it looks like the most realistic piece of all the new ones. The others are pretty cool as well... The average quality is very high, not a single bad piece (asides from some personal tastes).

The species diversity is nice as well, though I´d have prefered some more plant eaters (especially sauropods) - 6 carnivores against 3 herbivores (and one is already dead...).

All in all, well done Collecta. :)

And does "Last one for the time being" mean those are all 2014 models or all that can be revealed right now?

The Saurophaganax has been posed in the a bent down position to give the impression that it is bending over a recent kill.  In discussions we have had with Collecta, this model was created with the Stegosaurus corpse figure in mind, although they have got slightly different production schedules.

In a word, yes.  Collecta are drip feeding models into the market place, they are committing to a large number of new models across their entire portfolio in 2014.  The were a few distractions such as other projects that delayed development last year and therefore the idea was to bring out many more replicas than in the previous twelve months.  We are seeing the benefit of their work and we are expecting to announce more news in the near future.  We have to point out though that these model announcements being made today mean that it is going to well into the summer of 2014 before these replicas are widely available, most of the announcements from now on have yet to be manufactured and probably won't get started until after the Chinese New Year.

Adam, before I  mentally ear-mark that Mosasaurus to purchase, I did want to ask a single question about it if you would dare to venture an opinion. My question would be, is the mouth supposed to realistically open that wide? I do not know myself and if it does, then it does, but I wanted to ask.
PS-He sorta looks like he is trying to swallow an ankylosaurus whole.

What a big surprise with the Biesthaieversor! But for my favourite by now is the Mosasaurus!

Very nice looking models here....I won't be buying the theropods but I will be getting the mosasaur. Kudos to CollectA this year.

Spinosaurus Aegyptiacus

Wow. CollectA came out strong this year! I like all of the models.

Wow  :o Fantastic new additions to CollectA 2014! I really like these new additions, beautiful sculpt and interesting and intricate colors ( for a change).
so far for me, CollectA has come out with the most interesting and exciting new figures for 2014 ;D
Really love the mosasaur :))

Balaur

All right! I am unsure about the Bistahieversor, but I freaking love the Saurophaganax and Mosasaurus! CollectA is looking to have another good year. Again, my only fear is that they will change the models, but for now I am happy with what I'm seeing.

Megalosaurus

Hi there.
I like the Saurophaganax and love that Mosasaurus, its 10 times better than the past Thylosaurus. I pass on the big chicken.

I agree. Paintwork can make a good figure even better, or can obscure a good sculpt. This is my problem with CollectA, they choose boring, predictable paint schemes or do this to the heads:

LOL, true.

Megalosaurus

 ;D

And the Mosasaurus looks so good becase they copied colors from living things like this:

A good choice.

Gryphoceratops

I guess I'm one of the few who really dislikes the stands.  Its cool they put feathers on the Bistahieversor but the ear is in the wrong place!

Mosasaur I am unsure about.  I want to wait to see what this new one looks like in person.

Takama

Im really thrilled about the new additions today. and I am happy that they gave them basses so they don't constantly topple over and ruin the paint.
