Thanks mate! I just need to NOT forget the thumb claw, haha. Other than that I feel that I'm making at least some progress.

VERY speculative display colors. Inspiration taken from a bird of paradise.

I really like it! Not too garish, not too dull. It's the kind of thing I like to see on a dinosaur, because it looks very natural.

So, apparently I payed a lot of attention at university today... must've been really interesting.

Now I'm intrigued to actually turn this into a drawing, haha.

Lol, I know the feeling! Fortunately for me my term is over, which gives me the chance to work on my hobbies. :D  I hope you finish soon too and do well in any exams you might have. :)

Thanks for the kind words! ;) I must say, this semester is quite tedious, due to the fact that I have a couple of external lectures to take for my paleobiology bachelor (namely some ecology stuff about plants and fungi, which is actually made for the ecology department and not for our bacc... not very interesting if you're trying to get into vertebrate-paleobiology). Hopefully the next semester will be more my kind of thing. :)

PS.: Working on it.

Let's make this a more interesting WIP-picture:

Very nice so far! Though you may want to place the external nostrils closer to the front of the snout to comply with Witmer (2001). He showed that "it would be more speculative and less parsimonious to place it [the fleshy nostril] in  its traditional caudal position because it would be virtually unique among known amniotes."

fabricious

Thanks for pointing that out, I didn't realize I automatically put them halfway down the snout. :)

By the way, who can guess what genus/species we're looking at?

Patrx

Hmm, might this be Brontosaurus excelsus? Certainly a popular taxon these days!

fabricious

Close enough! It's Apatosaurus lousiae, I actually just randomly scribbled what came to mind at university and it happened to be the robust long-necked dinosaur from my childhood. :)

Patrx

Aha! I'm not yet familiar enough with them to tell the two genera apart by looking  :))

Tyto_Theropod

Good ol' Apato! Good to see that there's at least someone who hasn't forgotten him now that Brontosaurus is back on the block. :)

I have spent the past days looking at pictures of Tapejara wellnhoferi. I couldn't help but feel that this animal might make a great topic for a poster.

Very cool! I especially like the coloration :)!

Thank you! Me too, actually, haha. Since I usually don't do anything pterosaur-related, I'm always kind of scared of getting the colors to look appropriate. But with this one I'm quite pleased! Also, I've made quite some progress over the past hours...

I've never asked, are the people in here actually interested in prints of prehistoric illustrations?

jooooo

Amazing! I wish i had your talent.

Arul

Hehehe your project progress is moving really fast awesome :D

Hard work beats talent, if talent doesn't work hard. I'm far too lazy to get any further (properly), I'd be quite somewhere else by now if I wasn't such a lazy bum. ;)

Let's see if I can finally finish something, haha.

fabricious

Progress~

I'm pretty much done for today, maybe I can finish it tomorrow. Suggestions?
