Some more visitors I had over the weekend, We are experiencing a heat wave at the moment here in QLD and many birds come to my garden to escape the heat, this pair of Galah's sat in this paperbark tree almost all day.

OK today i got to see some Eagles and other modern day Raptors.
It was part of an annual Eagles days event that take place every January. At the event, they have a few birds, but one of them is always the Bald Eagle, which is currently flocking over the Mississippi river

the first bird at the show is this Crow, who takes your money to place in the donation Box

The event takes place in a Movie Theater, with the main birds perched up in front underneath the screen. Now I took these photos with my Phone, so i apologise if the Quality isn't the best.

Golden Eagle

Barn Owl, and a Shot of the Bald Eagle.

They also had one more bird for show, and it is this Creepy Turkey Vulture that was brought around the room so people can see it up close

The following are just Pictures of the Staff holding the Birds.   Just for Size comparisons on you guises part

There is a large dam directly opposite my house in a Macadamia farm only about 2 Min's walk. A pair of black swans live there and breed each season, here are a few shots of them and their babies. They are a bit camera shy and I can never get to close.

Here is their nest.

Well I can assure you that is not the case with me. I see a lot of cardinals but not so much money. Unless they're predicting money years in advance in which case I'll be rolling in it.

Great avian visitors Gwangi! :)

Wow, beautiful birds, I love them.

What a nice shot of a wild turkey!  I see them here from time to time, once a month or so, but am never able to take a picture.  They are surprisingly large and bizarre looking.  Speaking of which, i.e., not being able to take a picture, today there was the usual assortment of mourning doves pecking around the ground by the feeder, these guys:

Then, I didn't see the actual attack, but there was a flurry of feathers and I just caught a glimpse of a kinda large, strong bird carrying something away with broad, powerful wingstrokes.  It wasn't that big, but I could tell simply by the flight pattern that it was a predator.  Most of the seed-feeders, even the bigger ones fly in short, hurried and zig-zag strokes.  This bird flew away directly with a purpose, as if it didn't care if anyone saw where it was going.  Anyway, that's how it seemed to me.  Probably a young red-tailed hawk, as they are quite common here.  My camera was nearby, but it was all over in a few seconds.  Still, I'm happy to have seen even a bit of this action - very cool!

Reminds me, in the fall I  was able to approach within less than 20 ft of a trio of gobblers and also a flock (rafter?) of about 20. I got a lot of pictures and even video of the three arguing. If anybody is interested I could post them even if it's not the right season. Or did I already show them? Please advise. :))
