Those mini CollectA's are really awesome figures.
I just got the JW Galli recently as well, interesting figure. ^-^

Shonisaurus

I got the gallimimus of AAA in an eBay lot bought from Jurassic Hunters and of course it is a very good, pretty and cheap figure.

Roselaar

There may not be many Galllimimus figures, but the ones you got there are wonderful! I love the Kanna figure. :)

See you soon..
:)

Shonisaurus

All those figures such as synthetoceras, ophiacodon, lotosaurus, hybodus, sthenacanthus, moa, erythrosuchus, euparkeria, diplocaulus, platybelodon, barburofelis, machairorus, gorgonops, sphenacodon, koolasuchus, eryops and even the estemmenosuchus with very rare animals in the toy market or never have been made in figure. That yes those resin figures do not have comparison to a prehistoric figure of PVC or vinyl except honorable exceptions.

By the way the dimorphodon is that of the Collecta factory of Martin Garratt is a beautiful figure they had it on urzeitshop.de and unfortunately I missed the opportunity to buy it although the price was very expensive.

I congratulate you Robin you have a collection as I have already told you countless times and sorry for repeating me unequaled. I really enjoy your photos.

ceratopsian

A beautiful parade of Garratt figures. His work is a joy in life.

Quite a few unique masterpieces there. Incredible.

I'd be interested, robin, in seeing photos of where you keep/display all these wonderful models! You must have a pretty big house.

Despite with a more essential color style, even Vitali Klatt is an interesting figures-painter (and, of course, a great sculptor ).
So, here it is a little tribute about figures painted by Mr. Vitali Klatt:

Diplocaulus

Olorotitan

Liopleurodon

Allosaurus

Troodon

You must have Robin a house or chalet big enough to display so many nice figures.

...well, I live in a regular house.
But I must admit that the idea of a "chalet" in a big city like Milano (where I live) is not so bad   ;D

(I'm joking  ^-^ )

..my latest batch of figures is all about extant animals..
This isn't the right place to show it, I know..

Diplocaulus

I really like this model, it's quiet well done (so I'm not trying to be sarcastic), but the pose base makes me feel like it got ran over or something.

No, you're right.
That Diplocaulus was also sculpted by Vitali Klatt.
Originally it was intended as a part of his "Dimetrodon VS Ophiacodon" resin kit:

In the diorama, the two synapsids are fighting for a dead prey: a Seymouria

A Vitali Klatt picture of the dead Seymouria:

In the beginning that Diplocaulus had to stay in place of Seymouria.
Then Klatt changed his mind.

So he did a very limited "alone" edition of the dead Diplocaulus (which I have):

Despite of that, Diplocaulus really had a very flattened body.

Here a Charlie McGrady / Matt Manit depiction:

Some more recent studies have suggested that Diplocaulus could be like that:

The cacops interests me, maybe he'll consider releasing it alone in the future?  ;)

Inside Photoshop I tried to re-create the original diorama by Vitali Klatt.
Maybe it would look like this:

  ( Photoshop Compositing Work )

Is it better with Diplocaulus or Seymouria ?

( P.S. About last post and Photoshop's fans: here the original Klatt's Diplocaulus isolated in Photoshop and ready to be inserted into a new picture.. )

Wonderful collection. It really makes a huge difference when a collection or figures are viewed as a group :)
