Despite I'm not a JP/JW collector, there are some interesting species in the new Mattel line; so, why not.... ?  ;)

Metriacanthosaurus

Yeah, I've recently started collecting dinosaur toys as well. What are your thoughts on the Metriacanthosaurus? I'm on the fence with that one.

..well, weeks ago I was at a local market and I saw the new Jurassic World line: relatively cheap price, unusual species, decent sculpt; so I gave them a chance..  ;)
Mosasaurus, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx and Stygimoloch are ok.
Probably the Metriacanthosaurus is the weakest one  :-\
I really don't like its permanently opened mouth (I fixed it with some tape during the shoot ).
I bought it mostly because it's a unusual species..   O:-)
I tried but JW toys definitively aren't my cup of tea...  ::)
Sorry...   :-[

Hahaha, I guess it was worth a shot  :) ;)
I also agree with the dinosaurs that you've mentioned. I picked them all up (I just got 'Stiggy' by Amazon mail). I also like the Stegosaurus quite a bit. The Triceratops is okay as it seems true to film. The T-rexes are pretty cool but the seam lines are really out of control (but adds to playability, I suppose).
I was thinking of getting them professionally repainted to look something like this:

Yeah, the hunch back pose of the Metri is a turn off for me :-[

By the way Robin I see that Papo's compsognathus that shows is tilted as if it had more legs, it seems as if it had a manufacturing error. It does not have the characteristic tripod posture that characterizes the figure.

...ok, I'll show you the magician's trick..  :o
( because real dinosaurs didn't walk like tripods  ;) )

DinostoreUs de Favorite is a sculptural ensemble of great relief Robin. On the other hand the raptor dinosaurs of The Beast of the Mesozoic and I have no words to describe these paleoartísticas beauties, I think it's all said about it.

On the other hand, thank you for showing me the reality of the compsognathus that was standing on two legs. A photoshop, honestly gave the hit.

I thought that the compsognathus was entrusted by manufacturing error.   :)) Thanks for your photos Robin.

Collecta 2018 Estemmenosuchus :

In the past I read a lot of DTF members hoping that a figure could be made in PVC form instead of resin.
And every time I replied that I was very happy that a certain model was resin and NOT pvc.

That's a proof about my thoughts: Collecta PVC Estemmenosuchus  ???  VS Sean Cooper resin Estemmenosuchus  8)

The difference about micro-details is enormous..  O:-)

Hi Robin.

Could you put the name of the dino above every one of those  BOTM ?
I think maybe I'll get one ( and only one ! ) -
That could sure help me to decide which.

Thanks

Sorry to have bothered you Robin.

I descovered I can get a much comprehansive review on either of those sites, and more :

- Dan's Dinosaurs
- Creative beasts
- Bigbadtoystore
- Everythingdinosaur

And it's all just one click away on Google ...  :)

And I think I know which one is my favorite -
Don't see the reason to get more than one -
I can hardly tell the difference anyway -
so, favorite color it is ...

Sorry to have bothered you Robin.

You didn't bothered me at all.
But I'm trying to write every info into all my posts (with links) and doing a complete reference album on Flickr and it's frustrating when people ask me for easy infos instead of just following a link clearly posted at the end of the thread..

Best Regards
:)

BrontoScorpio

I know all about your flicker album -
just didn't know/remember they have text.

Shonisaurus

I recognize because fortunately I also have them that the miniature figures of prehistoric marine animals of Collecta are very well finished and the same can be said of Safari.

I am pleasantly surprised how you place these miniatures with those gadgets that give a more realistic image of those prehistoric figures of the sea.
