I can't tell what's funnier, the listing, or the fact that people are actually bidding on it  ;D

While on my daily routine of patroling the "Dinosaur Collectables" section of eBay UK, today I stumbled upon two mammals offered up, live ones:

Wow, I didn't know there's a publicised human trafficking operation in Basildon, or that there's one that specialises in 'annoying people'  ;D  Guess I know where to send most of my classmates to now ;)

Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

My life in a nutshell: now lizerd I brought you a marshmallow now remember to..
Me: *chews and swallows* what marshmallow?
If you wonder where I'm active now, you can find me here- http://www.lustria-online.com/members/lizerd.17772/
It's been a good run here

Not dinosaur related, but I hope you can all get a kick out of this abysmal greyhound drawing that I did ;)

I was practising drawing a greyhound performing a submissive grin (for an illustration in an assignment), this first draft told me that I had a long way to go!

I kept the mouth and redraw the rest of the head for a better little illustration that I could use

In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

In all seriousness, I quite often wonder if there were plants in the Mesozoic with drug-like properties.

Anyways, here's my contribution to this thread today. Credits to Fresh Paleomemes:

In all likelihood, yes. What we think of as drug-like properties are usually chemicals the plant has evolved in order to defend itself against herbivory. Given that the evolutionary pressures were almost certainly the same back then, I'd be surprised if there weren't poisonous and narcotic plants. Also, eating old, fermented fruit gets modern birds 'drunk', so I imagine the same would be true for herbivorous dinosaurs if they ate enough of it. The very idea of tiddly plant-eating dinosaurs stumbling through the Cretaceous is actually pretty hilarious.

First off, I had meant to say 'narcotic' when I said 'drug like', so thanks for reminding me that word exists.

Anyways, interesting insights. I already knew about birds getting drunk from fermented fruit, but not really about the evolutionary pressures behind narcotic plants. Also, I fully agree the prospect of drunk diplodocids or stoned stegosaurs is hilarious - that's why I think about it so often!  ;D

On a final note, I wonder if any paleoartist has ever thought about this, because if not, it would be really good future material to work with  ;)
