Blade, the latest issue of Cinefex has a pretty lengthy article about the making of JW by Judy Duncan. There are some nice pictures of the animatronic Apatosaurus, an I. rex sculpt and the motion capture for the Velociraptors. I didn't have enough time to read the article. I may go back to B&N to do just that.

Thank you Gwangi for tipping us off I just picked up a copy up here at Chapters. :D

No problem, I'm glad I could be of service!

My friend checked for me today at local B&N and they said they don't carry it.  I called myself and the guy I spoke with told me to check back in a couple days.  I looked it up on Cinefex's website the closest one with it seems to be about 2 hours from me. Wonder if one B&N can ship to the other?  Really don't want to pay that 7.50 shipping by ordering directly if  I can help it.

There is a seller on Amazon.com offering a new copy for the face value of $12.50 + $3.99 USD shipping. It sells up here for $15.00 CAD which is around $12.50 US so if you are in a pinch I could pick one up for you but Canada to USA shipping can be expensive.
Edit: CineFex also did JP, TLW and JP3 in issues 55, 70 and 87 respectively. I had the last two but I decided to grab a copy of 55 off of eBay yesterday because it seems it has lots of images not in the Making of book or the Winston Effect.

I have had good luck with B&N locations sending copies to each other, but I also have almost always lived in cities with several B&N stores, which might make a difference.

Your killing me Doug...lol  Can you show me a sample anywhere online? I'd probably go with JP3 for the same reason as I did for JW, it's probably the closest we are going to get to a Making of book for either.

I'm going to call back tomorrow and see if they don't have it then maybe Knoxville will send it here. It's a about a 2 hour trip one way to there from here, but it's the closest BN other than our local one.  One of the employees my friend spoke with actually said to try Books-A-Million but they didn't show up at all on Cinefex's site as a retailer.

This guy shows most of the pages from # 55 http://mytwoyenworth.blogspot.ca/2011/08/jurassi-c-s-mine-i-went-through-my-list.html
The articles on JP and TLW are by Jody Duncan, JP3 is by Larry Deckel.

I can't find a similar link for # 87 but it is pretty comprehensive and has shots of them sculpting the Spino maquette and life size model, Pteranodon sculpts, plus shots of the fight etc. Lots of behind the scene shots. It goes from page 15 to 40 and 125 to 126 and 131 to 132. It is still available from CineFex back issues. Are you sure you pay $7.50 shipping. On my computer it says "(outside the US add $7.50 shipping)" that would seem to indicate US shipping is either less or free?

Hey your right! I just saw it says 7.50 or non-us, free for us customers. I tried ordering one and they require a credit card no paypal option. So I'll have to figure that out..I don't use credit cards. :/

Nope. I operate out of a savings account attached to my paypal. Otherwise  pay cash all the time locally.

Blade, go to your bank and set up a Prepaid Credit card. It is only good for the amount of money you transfer into it from your account. So if you want to buy something online that will cost $50 with shipping you load $50 only that way even if someone hacks your card after that all they can withdraw is what you left in it and if that amount is $0 they are you know what out of luck.

Blade just show me what we need to do here, we can get it done and you can repay me how it works for you, ....k?

I'll have to check and see if our credit union even does that, they are a bit of a pain usually to work with. I can't figure why I can't get a Debit for my savings but they don't allow it. Probably no way to make money from it. ;)

I ordered the JP and TLW issue on ebay, my aunt is going to let me borrow her debit to get the JW issue.

amargasaurus cazaui

Just set up a checking with no checks for it so you have the debit card , which you can then set up to access both accounts. Glad it worked out for you, I woulda done it though

Glad it is working out for you. The beauty of the Prepaid Credit card compared to a Debit card is if someone hacks it or steals it they don't have access to your account and they would only have access to whatever amount you left on it if any. Also there is no borrowing on it so they can't run it up. We have had debit cards compromised and Credit Cards hacked so we have started using the Prepaid cards online. Hopefully your credit union provides them.

My biggest issue is I never keep more in my accounts than I need to to either keep it open and pay for a transaction. I buy on ebay I usually have to take a trip and deposit the funds even if it's 10.00 . I just don't trust/like banks/credit unions. but they a necessary evil.  When using a checking account they charge you 3.00 or so each month. If you don't have it in there or forget they charge you 20.00 plus the fee.  I can't check it online to see what's in there so if I forget I can get into a lot of issues.

I get the feeling you are living a bit in the past there Blade, ever since the government gave the banks free money to lend, they stopped paying interest on savings accounts almost entirely and it is usually reversed with generally free checking or interest bearing checking rather than savings anymore. My checking account for instance, pays interest provided I maintain a certain monthy balance, and there are NO fees.

For sure, just look out my window! lol

Seriously, you have a point. My friends have told me I should switch banks to theirs, they don't do fees, ect, ect. That's really my only reason for having a savings and not a checking with this place, the darn fees. They've messed me up pretty good in the past too..a bunch of older ladies run the place for instance. I'm sure a problem I had last month was due to them putting money in the wrong account. Other problem, they cashed a bad check last month that given to me for 40.00, they did once charge me 20, then again and charged me 20 then when the funds weren't there for two other paypal payments I made they charged me again for each...ended up owing around a 150.00 .

You have to fill out paperwork with the credit union, then they issue a password, I don't have a driver's license so not enough I.D. for them to process the paperwork apparently. So I can manage, paypal, ebay, ect.. all my other accounts quick and easy but I have no control over that one. It's stupid.

Gwangi

Blade, I sent you a PM about the JW issue. Did you not get it?

amargasaurus cazaui

Not to sound harsh or anything but banks and credit unions and such are a dime a dozen..if you dont like the one your at, take your business somewhere they give you what you need to function, dont let them determine your reality, do that yourself.
