That is a nice website thanks unfortunately for me its fully japanese language..

stargatedalek

I would argue that that is distinctively incorrect, given the amount of feathering we know from ornithomimids.

A bit scaly for my tastes...

Definately too scaly. Otherwise it is a well done figure, but it lacks feathers.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

I've just had a quick look on that website without understanding what anything says and I found this page with other figures: http://www.dino-nakasato.jp/shopbrand/ct14  I've never seen or heard of any of these before!  Does anyone know anything else about these figures?  Are these a toy line?  Actually I did manage to understand the less than 1% that was in English including "Tarbosaurus bataar" on the box of this figure!: http://www.dino-nakasato.jp/shopdetail/000000000005/ct14/page1/recommend/

Edit: Google translate is almost not helping at all but it does say what I imagine means that Deinocheirus figure is a 'scales' version: https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dino-nakasato.jp%2Fshopbrand%2Fct14&edit-text=&act=url  It seems like there might also be a 'feather' version then.

Edit 2: Google translate was set to detect the language of the website (it decided it was Chinese).  I changed the language to translate from to Japanese and now the results make more sense!: https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.dino-nakasato.jp%2Fshopbrand%2Fct14&sandbox=1  Some of the "translations" from Chinese (the link in my first edit) were quite funny!  Some of the translations from Japanese sound funny too though!  "Real series lettuce Uryu"

Wow, the level of detail on the TRex figures (teeth, arms/claws) is fantastic for what appear to be 1/50 scale figures, on a par with the Favorite series.  The length of the TRexes wors out to 8.7" (inches) by my calculation, and the new Deinocheirus is about 8" (inches) long.

Fantastic - wish they would make one Deinocheirus with feathers, like the feathered Trex they have ....

brettnj

FYI, I can get anything from this site and just received a shipment of very cool figures from it for a good number of people.

Gwangi

They have a lot of awesome figures. Love the "Fighting Dinosaurs"! Even their baby dinosaurs are kinda cute.

Is there a site in English to order this one correctly :) ?

brettnj

The site only sells in Japan.  I can get them if interested.

The entire Nakasato line is pretty impressive. I've ordered a few from Brett, and I know several other forum members have placed orders too. There seems to be a "large series" (dimensions are given for each model) that includes Protoceratops, Saichainia, Tarbosaurus, Citipati, Uryu, Deinocheirus, Oviraptor?, and Velociraptor/Protoceratops battling skeletons. Then there is a "small series" consisting of Therizinosaurus, Saichainia, Tarbosaurus and a few others. The large series models are 2,000 to 3,000 yen, while the small series are around 800 yen. By comparison, most Favorite company dinos sell for around 800 yen.
All of the models are Mongolian species, so we could see Psittacosaurus, Velociraptor, Saurolophus and more in the future.
A side bar on the website shows how they hand make these models. They are clearly not mass produced, so that explains the higher prices.

At least some of those (Saichania, Protoceratops) seem to be considerably more expensive (8000 yen). Probably worth it for the level of work that goes into them, though.

Does anyone know for sure what "lettuce Uryu" is supposed to mean? My best guess is "Sanchusaurus," an undescribed, fragmentary ornithomimosaur possibly synonymous with Gallimimus. Using this handy guide to the Katakana syllabary, the part that Google Translate renders as "lettuce" is pronounced "Sa n chi yu," and I think the suffix "-ryu" is used in Japanese for a lot of unofficial dinosaur names. But would love confirmation from someone who actually reads Japanese.

A number of my buyers ordered them but since I sent the first out yesterday, none have seen them in hand yet.

To my eye, they are very beautifully done and nicely packaged.

According to the ebay listing (from a Japanese seller) it is Sanchuryu- a Gallimimus. Click on the Deinocheirus pic at upper left of this page.

According to the same seller, these are also resin  :o If that's true, it would explain the price they're asking!

sauroid

oh so these figures are all resin. too bad, i thought this brand is another Favorite Co.

Without using Google Translate, on some (not all) of the pages for individual figures there's actually a good amount of information in English if one scrolls down a bit.  I completely missed this until now!  It was late when I made my previous post in this thread, that definitely didn't help!

Excellent work, Investigator Halichoeres!  I'm curious about what dinosaur the "lettuce Uryu" is too.  Confirmation from someone who can read Japanese would be nice, although I think you've probably worked it out!  In addition to what you've explained, on the original Japanese page here, if one scrolls down a bit there's some English and the figure is referred to as "Sanchuryu", where "Tarbosaurus" is in the equivalent area on the feathered and featherless Tarbosaurus figure pages.  Comparing the information on the "Real series Sanchuryu" figure page and the Sanchusaurus Wikipedia page makes me think "Sanchuryu" and "Sanchusaurus" are probably the same animal.  "Sanchuryu"/"Sanchusaurus" are quite far apart from Gallimimus in time though so it's interesting it's being suggested as possibly synonymous with Gallimimus.

There's no Tyrannosaurus among these figures, only Tarbosaurus!  It's a refreshing change!  Another refreshing change is they made Citipati and not Oviraptor!

I can't see the ebay listing or Deinocheirus picture you're referring to...
