That's terrible. Although I'm Canadian and have never been to your park I really admire your work and it's just awful to see that someone wants to shut your park down. I'm a bit strapped for cash since I only work during the summer but I'll share your GoFundMe around and will donate as soon as I can get some cash, which'll probably be around Christmas. Good luck, I'm sure you'll raise the 10k way before june!   :)

I'm really sorry to hear about this, and I have to say I whole-heartedly agree with Takama's sentiments that this absolutely sucks. In spite of living all the way across the Atlantic, I'd still hoped I might be able to come and see your dinosaurs in future. If I lived closer I would definitely come and provide some manpower, much as I'm generally not a fan of construction/gardening/land clearance type work. I'll see what I can do in the way of donations, though, but I can't guarantee that I'll be able to put anything in other than my sincere hope that this problem is solved.

No problem, I totally understand. I don't mind working myself, but I have some physical limitations too. I also unfortunately have a lot of monetary ones as well. It's tough having so much your aware of out of your control, but we are trying to accomplish something and get it done.

Hey, that TV spot was great. The only thing I missed though was the inclusion of where people could donate if they wanted to. Or did I miss that? Or maybe they couldn't put that in? If it's all right with you, I'm going to put that video on my FB Timeline, and include your PayPal link. I have almost 400 friends on there. You never know! In fact, maybe that might be a good way to generate some possible donors, if others on here would put this on their timeline and include a little personal background about you and the park, so there would be no questions if this is bogus or not. Also, I'd like to include one of your longer most recent videos of the park. Could you post a link to which one you think is the best?

BTW, that sounds like some good news about the land surveyor you found. Anywhere you can cut costs is a BIG plus! Hang in there buddy. We're all behind you and trying to think of more ideas! :)

PS ~ Just wondered... How is paying thru PayPal.Me different from paying thru PayPal's regular transaction?

That's perfectly fine with me! We also have a GoFundMe page here : https://www.gofundme.com/357zus they didn't show it in the video but I've been sharing it on on fb pages.

Let's see..some of our videos are more centered on what were doing at the time or what we were showing. Here is our youtube page if you want to check it out.  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCqrg1bQ7zVAPf00Ks6vcHWA/videos  We always have our commercial on there that looks a bit more professional.

Paypal.Me is supposed a new simpler version as I understood it when they made the offer to sign up for it. I figured it couldn't hurt.

For myself I really appreciate everyone's help and I'm certain the kids that love this place do as well!

OK. I've just posted a request on my FB Timeline...

Christmastime is a time for giving and receiving. With this in mind, I have a request for all of my FB friends to consider. Most of you know how much I've loved dinosaurs for as long as my memory goes back. My friend, Chris Kastner, has a dinosaur park called, Backyard Terrors in Bluff City, Tennessee. With the help of a few friends, he has designed and created life-sized dinosaurs for children of all ages. It has been his life-long dream that has now been fully realized. He also only takes donations to keep it running and to create more dinosaurs. He feels this will always allow children of all income brackets to be able to come and enjoy this fantastic magical place.

Well, as of late, he has until June to comply to some very costly upgrades that will run him at least $10,000 or his park will be shut down. This amount is well beyond his means, since he runs his park on donations alone. So, I am asking all of you to take a look at his YouTube page I've posted here, and remember the magic of things like this you experienced in your youth. I've also included a recent local TV spot that was done on his park and its current situation. And below all this, I've included a link where you can make donations. Any amount is welcomed! Please, if you can, help keep his dream alive so it can be shared for generations to come. Thank you and I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas!

I hope it helps! :)

That's great bud thank you!

Thank you, this Park was built for those who have little to nothing so it makes sense that the ones who truly want to save it have little to no means to help I'm terribly sorry to say. All we can hope for is to make it up in numbers give a little and have many do that or find one big benefactor. Easier said than done.

We might raise that much by then, but it wil lbe too late. June 16th is our D-Day to have everything done and complied with by. So we need the 10000.00 by Jan/Feb. We've already had some volunteer time to removing an old house on our property to place a restroom on as they are requiring of us. I have my claws crossed it will all work out.

Blade, I've shared your funding link on a couple of FB dino-related groups. I really hope things work out for you.

Thank you bud! We've picked up some good momentum over the weekend we just need to maintain it. Best way is by sharing I think. We've always relied on word of mouth here, not many funds for advertising, and it's kept us going. Thanks again my friend!

Just making sure you saw my donation. I hope it helps & wish I could do more.

Would think the logical or rational move were it me, would be rather than get caught up in their time frame and mind game, to first ask a lawyer to file an extension giving you fair amount of time to comply with all said requests. In return you could perhaps provide a schedule or plan and idea when and how each step would be taken and done. With more breathing room comes more options, and more possibilities. Get them to meet halfways on a time schedule you can at least attempt and then throw everything you can behind your efforts.
Surely it would not hurt to at least call the city attorney and request a delay?

I'm not sure, I've never dealt with any lawyer before ( does one para-legal count?) mostly because we've not had the funds to hire one.

I have issues doing a lot of things, my printer on my old XPS here died recently, I don't drive, I have no cellphone. Makes checking out things in person difficult for me on just about anything.

I did get a message from the county commissioner today who loves our Park and wants to help us anyway she can. So maybe things are turning around a little. Our fundraiser is almost 1500, that's out of the 10,000 we ballparked, doesn't seem like much but it's a lot closer than we were on day one.

Very cool! Got some throat armor going on there.

How did you decide to stabilize where the plates on the back will be attached? It seems like the bigger they'll get, the more susceptible to wind they'll be.

Yep, my Kentrosaurus has a little bit, so had to add some to this girl.

The plates are tightly wrapped in 12.5 gauge welded steel fencing just like the body. We ran the wire past the bottom of the plate on all sides about 12".  Then I clipped them so they fan out. When placed where they are going on the body they will be wired and wrapped own on all sides. Feels like it will work, I hope so. We won't be painting her til Spring I think so we have time to check wind/snow effects on it.  They will be better attached than the Kentro's were. But it''s always a test.

How are the funds for your parks future comeing along?

I hate to complain about it because I appreciate each dollar and each person that gives it. But not well. We are at 1631.00 of 10,000.00 .  That tough but possible, if we receive just 1 dollar they all add up.

Now a surveyor friend of ours who is donating his time here to help us is thinking we will need more like 30,000.00 but 10k will start us off easily and get the ball rolling on these projects.

I'm about to order a big dumpster to tear down this old house with, there's 400.00 to start, 300 per trip to dump it. Then we need some gravel, 20 tons sounds like a lot but isn't much when you start spreading and packing it. That's another 400.00 so everything we've raised thus far will be gone in a day.  :/

Oh that sounds bad! I would donate but my mom won't let me... I don't mean to sound like a downer here but if your park gets shut down, and that's a big IF, will you be able to keep your dinosaurs?

I understand bud.  Yes the dinosaurs can stay, but no one will be able to see them but me, which negates much of their existence.  My family will use it as an excuse to divide up the property among themselves and their children.  So the dinos may end up homeless and all crowded in here.  I'll be forced to work on other things and new dinos will be few and far between if at all.  It's an extinction of sorts, not at all a pleasant one.

Our donations have dried up a bit recently, we hit a snag and stopped short of 2,000 so far.

We used 404 to add more gravel to the areas of the Park that tend to stay muddy and tomorrow we are getting a 30' dumpster to tear down this house into, the will be another 400 so our budget is about gone now.

Here are pics of the 18 tons of gravel we put down.

We did get the plates up on the Stegosaurus finally :
