Thanks for sharing these charming scenes. As a fan of the Paleozoic, I appreciated those bonus sketches as well!
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Thanks to everyone that's commented, it really means a lot to me, especially coming from prehistory fans!
And a special little thanks to avatar_postsaurischian @postsaurischian  - I love the comparison to Miyazaki's work!! I try to highlight the beauty in the everyday, it's something that's important to me; I feel like Ghibli films do this a lot, even with the fantastical elements. It's definitely an inspiration.

Anyway, here's a little sneak peek rough sketch of my next dinosaur illustration -

The keywords here being: baby Ankylosaurus, potatoes, summer garden  ^-^

Akylosaurs are my favorite dinosaur family! This isn't meant to be Bumpy, but I did recently learn of their existence!! How cute! I still don't have any interest in watching Camp Cretaceous, lol, but I do think Bumpy is adorable.

Justin_

I think you've got potential for a second scene, where it uses its tail club to mash the potatoes.

Paleona

avatar_Justin_ @Justin_ lol that would be a cute follow up! I'm not sure this anky would be able to mash them too well, since their tail can't really smash up and down  ;)

Here's the finished pic, though! I really loved working on it  ^-^

Newt

This is great! I'm especially delighted that you took the time to draw potato plants that look like potato plants - most artists, especially when doing highly stylized art, just attach recognizable fruits or vegetables to generic plant shapes.

There was a half-grown cottontail grazing in my yard today; he was almost as cute as this ankylosaur.

Thank you! I'm definitely trying to put more effort into how plants actually look; there's such a beautiful diversity of plant life, really it would just be boring to draw everything the same, haha.

Also nice! I'm looking forward to seeing wild bunnies in my yard, too. I saw one a couple times during the winter, living off tree shoots, but no spring visitors yet ^^

Henlo, little Ankylosaurus :-D

avatar_postsaurischian @postsaurischian ist absolutely right. Your Art reminds me of Studio Ghibli too. Your Pictures have a fantastical, alive and slightly magical vibe to it.
I am looking forward to Games like "Paleo Pines", wich goes in a similar, but simpler direction.

Your Pictures are packed with Feelings.

Thanks so much for the kind comment  🌻
Oh, yeah, I'm absolutely looking forward to Paleo Pines, too! It's literally a dream come true game, I really hope the indie devs pull it off. The world could use more stylized dinosaurs, that aren't based off Jurassic Park, haha.

Yeah, I appreciate this, too! This scene is great, I can feel our little buddy's anticipation of a nice starchy snack.

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres haha, thanks! Starchy snacks are always a treat  ^-^

Here's another sketchy set of various prehistoric friends!

Anomalocaris, Eohippus, and Moschops today :)

Kapitaenosavrvs

:-) That Anomalocaris. I have to think of a Cat with an arched back, that wants huge Amounts of cuddles.

Patrx

Aw, the Eohippus is my favorite. Adorable!

Halichoeres

Rounding it out, I gotta say I'm partial to that Moschops.

Gothmog the Baryonyx

Theyvare all adorable, its hard to pick a favourite.  The Moschops is the most impressive but the other 2 looks cuter i think. Moschops is still my favourite
Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Archaeopteryx, Cetiosaurus, Compsognathus, Hadrosaurus, Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Stenonychosaurus, Deinonychus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Argentinosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Citipati, Mei, Tianyulong, Kulindadromeus, Zhenyuanlong, Yutyrannus, Borealopelta, Caihong

Subduction

Your artwork is absolutely precious! And inspiring too. As much as I love prehistoric animals, I find them a little intimidating to draw because of how hyperealistic paleoart tends to be. Which isn't a problem. My style just tends to be on the cartoonier side, haha!

Anyway! I really love your style. You nail down that watercolor, storybook look perfectly. I also really adore the colors and atmosphere in your art. And I can't get over how cute the dinos/animals look! I'm definitely looking forward to seeing more artwork from you! :D

ceratopsian

How have I missed this thread?  Your work has a wonderfully joyful quality.  Thank you! Moschops is a charmer!  (And I absolutely fell in love with the vintage postcard Borealopelta - I was that far behind in checking your thread!)

Shonisaurus

Beautiful and cheerful art, the moschops and the anomalocaris have been embroidered well. It is an exceptional art dedicated to a young audience, you have a very good talent.

Paleona

Sorry I missed some of your comments!! I got distracted with other interests (Pokemon) and took a bit of a break from prehistory, haha. Thank you all so much for the kind words, though, I'm really happy you all enjoy my art :')

Also, S @Subduction - I'm so happy to have inspired you~ I feel the exact same way, in regards to the hyper-realism that's associated with paleoart. While realism is for sure important, I think paleoart has room for lots of different art styles!

Here's a couple recent things!

First, a modern dinosaur and her babies:

Aaaand a quick, messy pic of my personal favorite JP toy. I remember fawning over this rex in magazines and at Toys R Us. My dad ended up buying it for me as a surprise back then, so it holds some really nice memories:
