Great work Clayton. I hope I can buy at least one of each of your figures, they're all so very well done. And your speaking is fine. Great job.

Hey Bucklander! Thank you. I sent you an email a little more than a week ago, I wanted to make sure It didn't get lost or something. :)

Great stuff! I've just warned my wallet that I'll be inflicting some injuries on it before long...
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Here's another dinosaur I'm working on... Patagosaurus! This species comes to you from Takama  ;) I go into the texturing process for a few different styles, as well as show examples of them being used in well known toy brands. If you have any suggestions for this type of video or other dino/sculpting related videos, let me know what you think!

Nice video, Kayakasaurus and an interesting view to your workplace. Would like to see a video about molding and casting ;)

That Patagosaurus looks fantastic! Will it be available to purchase?

Takama

What species is the Green practice model you made?    Hypacrosaurus or Corythosaurus?

Corythosaurus, but I don't remember if I even used references.

[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

Just watched the video.  Very cool.  Great information and nice previews on your upcoming models.  :)

i love your figures and i would love to buy one (although i think ill wait till that irratator and shant come out ;) ) although i do have some questions

1.how much do you buy to make multiple figures?(bulk maybe)and how much does it cost

2.have you ever used aves apoxie sculpt because im not sure which would be better to use for large sauropods

3.how often do you use sculpey and what makes you decide to use it over magic sculpt

4. does ordinary sculpey stick to baked sculpey ?(also does the magic sculpt react to sculpey  well )

ps. i would love to see a casting tutorial (sorry if the format changes , i dont know why it does that sometimes )

Kayakasaurus

Great questions, I'll go over them individually.

1. I'm not sure I understand the question, I buy the Resin for casts in 16oz kits, and the mold making and everything I do on my own. The Silicone for the mold is called Oomoo 25, the Sculpey I get at a hobby/craft store, and the Magic sculpt comes in a 2 part kit equalling 5 pounds, also sold on Amazon.

2. I have not used Aves, I have used other similar Epoxy but Magic Sculpt seems to be the best, it's much softer than others, making it a lot easier to mix A&B parts and apply to the sculpture.

3.Magic Sculpt takes at least an hr to cure, so if I want to harden and then add more over and over without waiting in between, I will use Sculpey and a heat gun. Sculpey is also better for working over an area that you want to work all at once, but will take more than an hr. It is also better if you want to do something smaller and work it with your hands or touch it a lot, because epoxy takes fingerprints very well and can stick to things, it requires wet tools, water is also how you would remove fingerprints and smooth things out.

4. Yes Sculpey will stick, but not as sticky as epoxy. I usually bake(or heatgun) a model a few times throughout the process, and Sculpey usually stays in place fine, if not, then a little spreading and blending will work, due to more surface contact. Magic sculpt goes over Sculpey fine.

Good! I plan on doing a casting video. Another advantage to Sculpey and other polymer clays is their availability, and I would recommend one of the little $2-3 ones to try out. Avoid very dark and very light or bright colors, a medium to light grey is best for seeing details. Tip for buying at hobby/craft stores: check their website for a 40% off coupon, Hobby Lobby always has one, even though they expire, it just gets a new expiration date and code. Then just show the cashier on a smartphone.

I hope this answers your questions!

thanks , you answered my questions very well , looking forward to the casting vid !

Hi I been thinking, and i think your Leptoceartops is out of date

Your model is based on outdated Skeletals that made it seem like a Gracile animal thats capable of bipedal locomotion. However a recent Skeletal made by Scott Hartman shouws that it was a lot more robust

And he even went on to say that it was a obligate quadruped.    TO be honest. i now like the model you made a lot less but that does not mean i hate it.  Afterall, you did a good job with what was known at the time you made the model.  But would you possibly be willing to make an updated Leptoceratops sometime in the far future? (once the mould for the old one is shot?)
