Are you sure that is not a knock off??

Looks to me like the store accidentally used a bootleg instead of the real stock photo.

The store has lots of positive feedback and is in the US. They may have used a bootleg photo as Star suggests.

I'm thinking about getting the Papo Baryonyx and modding the head with greenstuff. I don't think it would be too much work to make it look more accurate.

You should get two and mod the second one into a Spinosaurus!  ;D

Some people already got their baryo. Anyone already got the feathered vraptor ?

It hasn't been released yet. Most outlets are saying it's coming soon (they've been saying this since January).

Got my feathered raptor yesterday, along with the rainbox rex. Both are way cool, except kind of an awkward pose on the raptor, with the toes of one foot curled under! Also snagged the Kapro, which I thought was not due out till summer sometime. Awesome teeth on that guy!
So I think that makes four (counting the Baryonyx) that are now available.

Lovin' the Rainbow Rex and Feathered Raptor, but the Baryonyx? I kinda like the style of it, but the POSE?!!! I'm going to pass on that one and hope there's another along at some point, whic his taking a rest or something. There was a time when I would have bought all of the Papos, but now there's too much competition for my dino-bucks to blind-buy...

Flaffy

I really want the kaprosuchus. :D The others, well... I'll pass :P
I just need more savings...  :'(

The kaprosuchus is indeed Papo's gem this year. Was focused on Baryonyx mainly and almost didn't get the kaprosuchus . So glad I did pick it up. Very life-like sculpt, very detailed, and lots of depth on the paint. Probably one of the best sculpt in recent years, beating the dimetrodon (nicer more defined scales), and on par with Papo's best. Baryonyx on the other hand didn't turn out as good as I hope for. Nice sculpt, odd pose that can't stand on two feet for very long (toes too soft to keep figure balanced on two feet), liked the color, but paint lack depth and too shiny. The korean prototype had way more paint layers and subtlety than the production figure. End up needs to have it stand tripod for most of the time to prevent the toes from warping and nose dive...Wonder why Papo made these both bigger than they need to, yet shrinking Apatosaurus into a young version when that should have been a larger figure.

The kapro is staring at me right now, kind of expect it to start moving any time soon...not only Papo' s gem but serious contender for 2016 best toy figure. Absolutely love it!
Run!

Did some touch up on Baryonyx on the head and neck, giving it a richer orange gradient as appeared on the prototype. Also used a grey gundam marker to pop out the scales on feet and claws. Looks better now. Also managed to get the legs stand better on two feet with my second try on the hot water trick. The soft toes won't last long if I leave it as is. Just need to support it with something to maintain a well balanced stance. Then it can stand pretty sturdy for a while for picture time. Slowly liking this guy more and more now with the small improvements. Aside its flaws, it does have some very cool aspects that other Papos can't rival (like the details on the head and the very fleshy inner mouth, so nice). Still very glad I bought it.

Further touching up the Baryonyx by adding a light brown wash on its back and dirty up the crevasses between teeth, adding a bit of color depth that is missing on this particular model. Not the best time of the day to take pics, so I have to resort to some photoshop trickery to show the colors better and more consistent on the bad pics. The sculpt is quite awesome, with a lot more details on the skin brought out by the wash. Together with previous touch ups, it starts to look more like a Papo now.

It looks really nice  ^-^.
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

That's what it should have looked like from the factory. Well done.

Just something that popped up in my mind but I would like to get your opinions on a thought I had. We all know Papo isn't known for their scientific accuracy but over the years we have gotten a couple of gems from them that are pretty accurate (allo, feathered raptor and... Well yea). Instead were used to Papo ''drawing inspiration'' from pop culture, this can be seen in their jp inspired dinos. So I thought what if Papo continued they're thing of drawing inspiration from pop culture while giving us a perfectly accurate and possibly the best dinosaur figure on the market by drawing inspiration from Saurian. For those of you that don't know its basically a video game dedicated to scientific accuracy and has the most up to date dinos out there.
Id even say they sold me on the idea of t rexs having feathers... up until this game was a thing no depiction just seemed right but after seeing there  t-rex it brought a sense of believability, like this is actually what they probably looked like.

All in all... Papo I want a saurian t rex

Silvanusaurus

As wonderful as it could be to get a feathered T rex from Papo, I don't think they would create something directly based on something with such a niche audience. Personally if they were to produce a feathered T rex, I'd much rather it be fully feathered anyway.
