Great pics, Roselaar! Thanks! I hope we here in the States will be able to get the boxed duo. I'd much prefer getting them that way than separately. I keep checking Mastermind Toys' site. They do have them listed separately, but so far, only the T. rex is available for online ordering. The new Velociraptor is only currently available in stores, not online. Although on YouTube, JurassicCollectables is having a giveaway of the boxed set, and he states that they will either be from ToysRUs or Mastermind toys in Canada. So that's a bit confusing if he's able to get the boxed set from Mastermind. And I'm assuming it's ToysRUs UK, because ours in the States don't have them yet. So, I'm still keeping my eyes out for the boxed set in hopes that somewhere close to home gets it in. I really don't want to pay overseas shipping. :P

Box set is not likely to be released in the States. The way I heard it, there's only a limited number of them and they will only be available where they are now (i.e. Korea, Canada and the UK). That doesn't rule out an eventual release for a separate Rex and Raptor, but not again as a duo.

Oh, I'd get it from Canada in a second! But like I said, I hadn't seen it yet on Mastermind's website. Is it there somewhere? Or another store in Canada? Thanks!

Rain

Mastermind has em both in stores, but unboxed. I don't think you can get the boxed set in Canada unfortunately.

At least I hope that Mastermind will release the Velociraptor to be sold online. I just checked again now and it still says "Currently not available online". Only the T. rex is available there so far. :(

Same here. Ideally, Papo would release them in the U.S. and I could just wait it out and grab them when they do. But, there's no indication yet that they will. If Mastermind at least sold both on their website I would probably go ahead and order them to be safe. Perhaps if I called them they could do the sale over the phone.

I was thinking the exact same thing! LOL! Maybe I'll try and give them a call. ;)

I picked up the boxed set a few weeks ago on eBay, just arrived today. It's a heck of a cool item, the Velociraptor looks even better in person than in the pics (I already had a loose T. rex I picked up a month or so ago, before I found the boxed set, so I'd already seen HIM before). I ended up getting it from a guy in Korea and it's the only one I've seen on eBay. I'm not sure what the retail price on this set is (or will be) but I paid around 50 bucks for it...don't know if that was a good deal or not but I wasn't sure when I'd get another chance at one of these.

I mean, that's not much more than you'd pay if you bought the standard versions brand new separately...

I called Mastermind. I was told that they are restricted from selling the repainted Velociraptor either over the phone or online. Apparently it's part of their contract with Papo for carrying it in their store. A huge bummer! Guess it'll be eBay then.

Ugh! >:( But thanks for trying, Victoria. I wonder why Papo seems to be restricting sales of these in the US, only allowing a few countries outside of ours to sell them. Seems like they'd have a huge sales market for them here.

I did see that seller on eBay from Korea. I am now tempted myself as well. It's just trying to rationalize paying about $70 (w/ ship) for a new paint job on two figures I already have two each of. Haha! On the other hand, he does have only 2 left -- just enough for Victoria and me! ;) But I just had a huge unexpected car bill and really shouldn't be buying anything until my next paycheck at the end of the month. I guess if there's still one left, it was meant to be and I'll get it there. 8)

I saw a couple of paposaurs in the most unlikely of places yesterday, Hobby Lobby. They actually had a lot of animal figures there. No more Walmart and its pitiful selection of dinos!

Yeah it's really too bad that's the way they set things up with Mastermind. I mean, I get that exclusives are exclusives. But, why sell one on the website and not the other? This sort of indicates to me that perhaps the T-Rex might ultimately make its way to more countries. But the Raptor is going to be the one that eventually becomes one of those rare Papo dinosaurs.

I found another seller on Ebay selling them from the UK, but theirs costs over $100 with shipping. The Korean seller might be the way to go, though I agree, it's hard to spend that much money on these since they're just repaints. And it's a very expensive time of the year already.

I've heard for a while now that some Hobby Lobby stores sell them. Unfortunately the one here does not.

The raptor alone might (assuming that it truly is a limited release) justify the price of the Korean bundle. V1 Velociraptor tends to average around $70 on ebay.

That´s because V1 raptor is now very rare to find but this guys have just been released and I don't think they are worth the price, even if they are a limited edition, but to each his own I guess...

Saurox

I was really fortunate in just running across the last one in my local toysrus for £19.99. I haven't seen any since (in derby uk) but online i've seen them individually going for £30-£70. So I really lucked out. Mind I was able to purchase two discountinued green rexes this year quite cheap (£6 and £12). Raptor version one I found for £22 online, but i've seen them going for starting bids of £150 or £250 buy it now.

I saw a few at Hobby Lobby as well....mostly brown standing T.rex and Spinosaurus figures (I assume the new repaint?)...maybe a Trike as well.

Someone mentioned a bit ago that the new Spinos seem to be made out of a different type of material, more brittle maybe? I saw four Spinos and two had broken off arms and one was missing it's head!! So I guess these must be the new ones. I didn't look that closely, how are they different from the original ones? The Papo site doesn't mention that the new ones are repaints (but they didn't on the Stegos either).

I may have to pay Hobby Lobby another visit & grab that last one if it's still there, if the repaint makes it worth it.

Silvanusaurus

I just reserved the rex and raptor box set at my local Toys R Us, I wasn't that interested until I realised they're selling the set for £19.99, which seems far too good to pass up, especially when they've got the standard brown rex alone for £24.99! These will be my first versions of either of the two figures...

That is a good deal, the sets are £29.99 at my nearest TRU  :)

I wonder why Papo never decided to mimic the male raptor from JP3, it's easily the best looking raptor in the entire series, I'd assume they'd sell out pretty quickly.
The v2 raptor is pretty close but still pretty far. If they made one with the same color scheme and the quill/feather things I'd buy it in a heart beat!

TLW male raptors were always my favorite; those orange and black tiger stripes are way cool. I actually had my fiancee repaint my papo raptor to look like them :P

I'm guessing the quills would be too fragile so they didn't include them.
