Hello everyone, first repaint here. I bought the CollectA Deluxe Spinosaurus with some Christmas money; I really like the new Spinosaurus and I think the CollectA sculpt is done quite well with a fair amount of detail, but the stock paintjob was terrible IMO. So, I repainted it based off of this: http://www.gannett-cdn.com/-mm-/84d499cf435c3e6fdd9ac549636ea461a8f98694/r=880&c=880x495/http/videos.usatoday.net/Brightcove2/29906170001/2014/09/29906170001_3780236027001_thumb-2689f0e9c8856b235f0f6a7067002916.jpg

I am by no means a professional, but I was very happy with how it turned out :) Feel free to leave constructive criticism

Wow! I like the original paint scheme, but yours is great as well! I love it!

Holy crap! That made me get up from my chair and stare! That is amazing, you should repaint more dinosaurs!
like a bantha!

Thank you for the kind words! I guess when I said I didn't like the original paint job it was because it didn't show off all the details as best it could. And I would like to repaint more, but it's hard to get a lot of free time in medical school :P

Dinomike

That is a great repaint! Really brings out the details!

Really great job! The pattern looks really natural. Did you hand paint or use an airbrush?

Congratulations to you, a very well done re-paint.

Looks amazing, especially for your first repaint :)

ceratopsian

I only wish I had that sort of talent with brushes!  It's lovely and looks very convincing as an animal.  I'm especially taken with the patterning on the legs.

Thank you again everyone for the positive comments! It is all hand brushed; mostly dry brushing and some stippling for the legs

Jetoar

Really beautiful repaint, congrats  ^-^.
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

Beautiful repaint ... of a very nice, but flawed figure ...

Your repaint adds a real life-like look to it ....

In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

That is a really nice paint job. :)
Keeps on happy painting and show us more of your work!

Slight update; I had several requests from family and friends to make the stripe a little more broken up like the reference pic, so I did. Please forgive my phone camera, it's not as nice as the DSLR I had out the other day

I appreciate all the positive comments, constructive criticism is appreciated as well!

This is a lovely repaint, especially for a first time! The detail really jumps out and the lines are lovely and crisp, too. You should definitely do more of these if this is the kind of talent you have. ;)

I have repainted my spinosaurus too, and I like how it's finished.

With this colors this spinosaurus can mimetize in the sea.
Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

Without sounding rude I hope, do you mind making a new thread for this? It's not the done thing to post your work on someone else's custom thread. C:-)
