It's from the movie of the same name, "Shin Godzilla".

Indeed. Awesome movie from Toho in 2016, co-directed by Neon Genesis Evangelion creator Hideki Anno and Shinji Higuchi, the special effects master that brought Gamera to life in the 1990's.

I hadn't even heard that Toho was making Godzilla movies again. I really need to get my priorities in order.

Oh man, you're in for a treat! Shin Godzilla is amazing! Grab the bluray and enjoy...

Hello Over9K !

You have an amazing collection.

I have a question about Art Spirits Hyper-Solid Shin Godzilla.
I have it, only that the first edition.

It has great details and amazing colors. But the eyes are hand-painted. Black dots are not perfectly round.
Does your figurine have the same?
Have they improved it in this release?

I can say the eyes on mine are pretty much perfect. Nice round pupils, decently placed in terms of where Shin should be looking.

On mine, the big paint flaw is the tip of the tail. It looks like the painter was testing the airbrush on it! Half of it is bubblegum pink, the other half is crimson red.

I'll try and shoot a picture tomorrow.

Other than that, I was very impressed with the paint application.

My toy has a perfect tail. Better than Shin godzilla from Banpresto, X plus.
The colors are vivid.
Painting differences are typical for hand-painted figurines.
Still, this position is one of the best of Shin Godzilla.

Can you show how the tail and eyes are painted?
I am particularly interested in eye quality, if you take pictures, I will be grateful.
Are they painted by hand, are they stickers or machine-painted?

Here you go man. The eyes look hand painted, they aren't uniform, but they're very good for this scale.

Man, don't complain.
It looks very good.

Both heads are well made.
My standard head is similarly good. But the other head has slightly more slanting eyes than your toy.

The other thing is that my head has been fitted so tightly that I can't take it off.

I also see a different shade of the tail, it is bloody pink in my case. There is also a dark part on the spikes from the side. So it has to be.

Are you going to buy Shin Godzilla's 2 (creepy) form?

Believe me, I'm very pleased with the figure overall, it's a solid 9.8 out of 10, IMO.

I am pre-ordered for the Hyper-Solid KamataKun, and I'm really hoping that they eventually do a ShinigawaKun.

I'm not getting the 2019 Godzilla, however. I don't see the value for the same money as the Shin, which was fully translucent, and came with two accessories. I think they're asking more for the G'19, because they're assuming that when they bring out the King Ghidorah, people will want both. But I'm betting they're going to screw us, and the Ghidorah won't be the same scale, and the two figures won't look right together anyway, so there won't be any need to have both.

In December, Art Spirits is releasing a set of gashapon-sized (3inch/4inch) figures of Godzilla, King Ghidorah and Rodan from this year's Legendary film. Depending on the pricing, I'll be grabbing those.

If the eyes were made of stickers, just like the Sh Monsterarts factory does. I would give 10/10 rating.
But they used a simpler method, the eyes can differ in each copy.

Godzilla 2019 is more expensive by an average of 2,000 Japanese yen than Shin Godzilla. But notice that the prices of Japanese figurines are getting more expensive each year.
This edition of art spirit Shin godzilla was more expensive than the first edition.

King ghidorah is actually huge, on a scale like in the picture, the packaging will be huge. The price will knock you down.
But as you wrote, the factory can reduce the scale. Then they won't match. Anyway, so bad.

My S.H.MonsterArts King Ghidorah-2019 arrived two days ago, and he looks majestic sitting on my Godzilla shelf.
