At the very least, it should be nice to have 2 Kentrosaurus sculpts along with the Stegosaurus.

No offense to Schleich, but the Acrocanthosaurus looks stupid.

I must admit that the Allosaurus looks far less terrible from the side view we can see in those latest pictures. Agree with what people said on the Acrocanthosaurus, it is almost painful to look at.

These new offerings from Schleich keep me very puzzled. Why on earth did they make a new poorer version of the really good Kentro? To match it with the new bad ones? Was it maybe too good that it put all the other dinosaurs in their line to shame? And that Acrocanthosaurus....have they perhaps looked at all what CollectA, Rebor and Papo have to offer? Oh man...I'm out of words!

I think both models of Kentro are about on par. Totally agree about the Acro. It would be a shame if their Acro ends up selling the most! It's possible, you know   :-[

Maybe the old Kentrosaurus mold was transported by the same courier as Rebor's Carnotaurus.  >:D

Agreed on the Allosaurus, a slight improvement over the older model. The Kentrosaurus looks better in every picture, a must buy for me. It will make a good companion for the 2015 model.

Silvanusaurus

Are we sure that is actually an Acrocanthosaurus, and not the rumoured Plesiosaur? Remember, Schleich never were very good at accuracy.  >:D
Honestly though, aside from the Stegosaurs, these are some of the worst things Schleich has ever coughed up. Allosaurus, Acro, Brachiosaurus, that raptor-freak with the blue eye shadow; all are nauseating crimes against the endeavour of human civilisation.

..or simply they are toys for young kids and not figures for collectors.. and probably Schleich has a new target for their dinos because selling is the most important thing for a company.
Behind every company there are managers studying the best sales strategy.

why dont they just make figures that appeal to both children and collectors alike? i dont see Wild Safari, CollectA and Papo etc. making stupid looking figures for the under ten year old market and "serious" figures for the collectors. :D

Making accurate figures needs research and valuable paleo-artists (=money)  while doing monsters is for free.
And Schleich will sell anyway and everywhere so...
Sad but true.

Sad but true. At least with the Acro no one can accuse them of basing it on JP or a quicks google image search since all the Acros coming up are not tripods. Honestly, it looks like the shrink-wrapped cousin of "The Last Dinosaur"

That Acrocanthosaurus swings and misses at realistic so badly that it's actually probably the best offering Schleich has this year. It's a big ugly retrosaur, and least that gives it some real charm. As for Schleich's other dinosaurs... bad to look at as usual.

Their living animals were always so good, and their older dinosaur models were usually not too bad, but they've just been going downhill. Even a lot of their modern animals are starting to lose the realism that used to set them far ahead of other companies.
Once a man is tired of dinosaurs, he is tired of life; for there is in a dinosaur all that life can afford.

True in everything you say although I believe that in this figure (acrocanthosaurus) or children will like it because they will prefer a wild animal of the same brand or a figure of Bayala or comic figure before that figure so horrendous. It has been proven that chinasaurus in the end end up boring children.

What I have noticed is that the acrocanthosaurus Schleich does not seem to have articulated jaws, it will be necessary to be aware if this figure is going to have it in its communications and catalogs but the seams in the jaws are not seen much. I do not know if the forum members have not noticed.

The best thing Schleich could ever hope to come out with is a notice that their going out of business. At least that way they could make way for other companies who actually try.

"3,000 km to the south, the massive comet crashes into Earth. The light from the impact fades in silence. Then the shock waves arrive. Next comes the blast front. Finally a rain of molten rock starts to fall out of the darkening sky - this is the end of the age of the dinosaurs. The Comet struck the Gulf of Mexico with the force of 10 billion Hiroshima bombs. And with the catastrophic climate changes that followed 65% of all life died out. It took millions of years for the earth to recover but when it did the giant dinosaurs were gone - never to return." - WWD

Apparently it's a repaint of their bearded dragon.

they call it a pogona(?) Where there any lizards related to bearded dragons back during cretaceous period?
ok i just checked google:
Pogona is its genus name. It says they originate from Australia but doesn't say anything about what time period they evolved.

A search on the Paleobiology Database and a cursory glance at Google Scholar suggests that all fossils of Pogona are Pleistocene. There would likely have been agama-like lizards in the Cretaceous, but not bearded dragons specifically.

Given that their other sets pair Jurassic and Cretaceous Dinosaurs, this is hardly a surprise.

Basically you want the Acrocanthosaurus to be The Last Dinosaur of Schleich.

If you're into naming your dinosaur figures you could consider The Final Straw.

I have the new figures from Scheich that my girlfriend gifted to me. I thinkit is not bad but they are not for accurate collectors
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?
