The wait for spending money is killing me because of how much I want that prehistoric marine set. They look so nice. I have been wondering though. Do any of them scale up alongside each other at all? Not that I'm expecting them too.

Those pictures of the Dimorphodon in the tree and such look really good. It's such a cute pterosaur model.

The Pliosaurus and the Leedsichthys might be in scale with one another. P. funkei is estimated to be around 12 metres and Leedsichthys may have grown to around that size as well.

I think these are going to be my first non dinosaur figures, the Dimorphodon is really tempting me too.

By the way, did anyone buy the uintatherium Collecta? What does not convince me of that figure is its color anarajando. I have always been accustomed to gray uintatherium or brown tones like pachyderms. On the other hand, I find their striped stripes a bit odd. But it is only an appreciation.

The miniatures of prehistoric marine animals of Collecta are very beautiful and many of their figures will be as I have said of my first figures of those prehistoric animals.

With a little wiggle room, sure, though it seems to be entirely accidental. The Cameroceras and the Dunk go reasonably well together. The Xiphactinus, Archelon, and Pachypuzosia go reasonably well together. The Leedsichthys too, if it's at the smaller end of the size estimates. The Diplomoceras and Baculites work well together. This is based on some really rough initial measurements. I'll go into more detail when I review them.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

The leedsichthys looks immense. The dunkleosteus deserved a larger size even though it did not follow any scale.

Have you tried using the spiral one as a paper clip?

"3,000 km to the south, the massive comet crashes into Earth. The light from the impact fades in silence. Then the shock waves arrive. Next comes the blast front. Finally a rain of molten rock starts to fall out of the darkening sky - this is the end of the age of the dinosaurs. The Comet struck the Gulf of Mexico with the force of 10 billion Hiroshima bombs. And with the catastrophic climate changes that followed 65% of all life died out. It took millions of years for the earth to recover but when it did the giant dinosaurs were gone - never to return." - WWD

That is amazing. I think they need to mass produce those as functional paper clips.

The leedsichthys, xiphactinus, pliosaurus and trilobites are the figures that I like most of the group of prehistoric marine animals.

The dimorphodon is perhaps the most spectacular of the group along the styracosaurus. The weakest figure in the group is undoubtedly the basilosaurus despite being a very elongated figure but his head is not over all over his teeth.

Where's the best place to buy collecta figures?

Where's the best place to buy collecta figures?

If it's online and within the U.S., I personally like dejankins.com, I have only great experiences with them and the figures arrive fast and always in good condition. Most of 2017 figures are available except for the minis, Dimorphodon, Uintatherium and Basilosaurus.
People here in teh forum buy frequently from Everything Dinosaur and Minizoo but I can't tell you personal experiences with them, I have read very positive things about them though

I second those selections.  Dejankins is really quick and trust worthy, Minizoo is also very fast considering it's shipping halfway across the world from me. lol and they pack well.

AUGH, I want that mini set! Those are nice! I think several of them could fit in with 1:40 scale models, especially if you don't consider them full-sized individuals.

I want that Basilosaurus, too! The barnacles are a nice touch. It makes up for the fact that the head is a little uglier than I would prefer, but I'm so excited to have a Basilosaurus, I don't mind either way.

The mini set is great. I think the Baculites, Diplomoceras, and Parapuzosia all work in 1:40 (with Parapuzosia as a smaller individual). The Xiphactinus would work as a smaller ichthyodectid or maybe as a young specimen.

Did anybody notice that Collecta corrected the paint job on Dimorphodon's teeth? The stock image showed them to be grey, while now seems that everybody have Dimorphodons with perfectly white smiles. By the way, kudos again to Collecta for this year's line-up, all figures are excellent, including the tiny ones from the mini set. I have great expectations for 2018.
