According to a comment of Rebor surely this year will be the year of the herbivorous dinosaurs if it is thus what they have commented will do a parasaurolophus, ankylosaurus, styracosaurus, triceratops and stegosaurus among other figures.

I am looking forward to seeing Rebor's interpretation of these creatures.

Well, I'm glad to see I wasn't the only one thinking of this list! I felt a little guilty because it's so early in the year, but the incredible amount of amazing models Collecta and Safari gave us this year just got me very excited for next year! Anyway, here's my wishlist:

I think this was the year that Collecta finally became the true equal of Safari in terms of quality models; with that in mind, I would enjoy seeing any of these creatures from either company:
Collecta and Safari
- More large, 1:40-1:50 scale sauropods, preferably Mamenchisaurus or a giant titanosaur (Argentinosaurus, Dreadnoughtus, etc.)
- A "Pinnochio rex" (either Alioramus or Qianzhousaurus)
- Centrosaurus
- Dsungaripterus
- Majungasaurus (I know Collecta already has one, but it's badly in need of an update)
- Archelon
- Leedsichthys
- a giant orthocone
More hadrosaurs!!! (1:40-ish of course)
- Lambeosaurus
- Saurolophus
- Tsintaosaurus
- Shantungosaurus

There are a few critters that I think I would prefer more from Collecta than Safari though, and vice versa:
Collecta
- Dakotaraptor
- Lurdusaurus
- Brachytrachelopan
More "family herd" sets!
- Kulindadromeus
- Coelophysis
- Scutellosaurus
- Placerias
- A flock of small pterosaurs (maybe wading/feeding Pterodaustro?)

Safari
- Concavenator
- Ouranosaurus
- Olorotitan
- Paraceratherium
- Deinotherium
- Uintatherium
- Arsinotherium (re-release)
- Wooly Rhino

Battat
Please please please release the rest of your stuff!!!!!

I hope Papo comes in 2018 with a:

Iguanodon
Camarasaurus
Lambeosaurus
Titanoboa
Daspletosaurus or Gorgosaurus
A Jurassic World Ankylosaurus

In the future:

Pentaceratops
Centrosaurus
Supersaurus
Paralititan
Saltasaurus
Muttaburrasaurus
Kentrosaurus
Lexovisaurus
Albertosaurus
Edmontosaurus
Corythosaurus

All in scale 1:40 please!

Ezikot

I really hope Safari will give us something in scale with their 2017 models,
so an anky and/or a trike and/or something else from Hell Creek in scale with the t.rex,
a protoceratops in scale with the velociraptor,
a corythosaurus and/or a chasmosaurus and/or something else from the Oldman formation in scale with the para.

Papo... well, everything they want, but i'd love if they could put more attention to details.
I know they're probably not laser focused on scientific accuracy and that's ok and i like their style,
but, please, just a bit...

Neosodon

I hope safari remakes the Carnegie Ankylosaurus. After seeing Doug's amazing job on the Saurapelta I can't even imagine how good Ankylosaurus would look.

"3,000 km to the south, the massive comet crashes into Earth. The light from the impact fades in silence. Then the shock waves arrive. Next comes the blast front. Finally a rain of molten rock starts to fall out of the darkening sky - this is the end of the age of the dinosaurs. The Comet struck the Gulf of Mexico with the force of 10 billion Hiroshima bombs. And with the catastrophic climate changes that followed 65% of all life died out. It took millions of years for the earth to recover but when it did the giant dinosaurs were gone - never to return." - WWD

As with everything else. im in the minority here

I really wish Safari did not up the size of there Models this year, as it makes there previous ones look out of scale.   If they did this in 2016 with the Carcharodontosaurus, i would not have an issue. but now im on the fence if i will ever get the T.Rex and Giga or not. The worst offender is the Giganotosaurus, which towers over the Diplodocus, and that is not right to me. I thogth the Carcharodontosaurus would be the only Large Carnosaur in the line, but nope, they surprised us with a Oversize one a year after the previous ones release.

IF they wanted to sastify the demand for larger models, then i think they should of made a new line dedicated to them instead of making them a part of a line with an Already well established size range.

John

With so many things that have already come out in the last few years,it's getting harder to think of anything, but here goes:
Archelon,Plesiosaurus or Placodus from either Safari Ltd. or CollectA

From Safari Ltd.
Styracosaurus albertensis,Chasmosaurus belli,or a new Triceratops horridus preferably sculpted by Doug Watson that would display well with the new feathered rex that just came out.

Maybe Pteranodon longiceps:)
Don't you hate it when you legitimately compliment someone's mustache and she gets angry with you?

But then just look at the 2016 releases, Carcharodontosaurus wasn't in scale with Masiakasaurus, for example. If I were a Safari collector I'd be more concerned about the split of this year, they should choose between oversized feet and bases. If they'd keep the base theme I would be interested to see what they can do with a Spinosaurus or an Allosaurus, couple of things aside the Giganotosaurus ain't that bad and definitely (mysteriously) better produced than the T-Rex.

Maybe Scale is the wrong word.    What i meant is SIZE Range, Every Safari model was restricted to a certain size range. Every model released until this year fits in that size range. The only ones that dont are the Kronosaurus tyrannosaurus, and Giganotosaurus. The Diplodocus fits perfectly with the other dinosaurs in the line so far. The other three are too big.

stargatedalek

This years Diplodocus and the Apatosaurus from previous years are significantly larger than the average figure for the line

Also, when it started the Wild Safari line had no standard size. Only for the past years, and only by request of the Carnegie Museum, did the Wild Safari extinct figures fit into a standardized size.

Shonisaurus

They are very good the prehistoric mammals of Safari but my dream that they made them to a scale a little bigger. Scale 1:20 or 1:10.

That's what Collecta is for. I like that Safari is one of the few companies that produces prehistoric mammals in scale with my 1:40 dinosaurs.

CityRaptor

Meh, the modern day animal market is already like 95 % mammals, so we don't need more. Make more non-mammals instead.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark

I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Yes, but they were still to scale with the rest of the Figures until the Giganotosaurus, Feathered T.Rex and Kronosaurus arrived on the scene.

Say what? How the spotted heck was the Apatosaurus in scale with the rest of the line? Or the Brachiosaurus for that matter? Or the Guanlong, the Masiakasaurus, the Kaprosuchus, or the C. megalodon?

I meant Size Range. The Sauropods are bigger then the rest of the models in the line, because there were supposed to be bigger then the other animals in real life.   Yes they are not to scale, but the sizeing was consistent, until they upped the size all of a sudden with there Tyrannosaurus and Giganotosaurus and Kronosaurus. which from i can tell, are just as big, if not bigger then the Sauropods, when they should be a bit smaller

Yes i am aware of models that are too big when compared to others in there species (for instance, the Nigersaurus is the most over-sized of all the sauropods. but the point is, they are still smaller then the Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurus, and Diplodocus, which to me gives a sense of Scale

Does that make sense?  :)

Halichoeres

Yeah, I think I get it. Big animals were consistently the biggest toys in the line, so they were in sort of a quasi-scale, with plenty of slop on either side. I think the available evidence suggests that some of the big Safari figures are Forest Rogers sculpts. You could just display them with the Carnegies, where they might look more concordant.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Interesting that I'm not alone in thinking that's a possibility. The styles are definitely similar, but I think Forest Rogers' models have more of a loose and fleshy look (as in the Carnegie Brachiosaurus).
