We are accustomed to look upon the shackled form of a conquered monster, but there - there you could look at a thing monstrous and free." - King Kong, 2005

Seriously? Look, I like the Iguanodon a lot, but the CollectA Beishanlong blows it away.

I would have easily preferred a few Collectas (Beishanlong, Andrewsarchus and most of all Torvosaurus) or Papo Kaprosuchus. Wasn't last year also awarded WS Sauropelta? Considering how excited people are for 2017 Safaris I suspect we'll see a third in a row next year.

Yes, and this is 2016, hence Sauropelta was last year's winner.

Oh! this is totally unxpected!but i prefear the Papo Kaprosuchus or the PNSO chungkingosaurus

Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

What was said the Safari iguanodon is a good figure but the prize could have been shared with other figures like the previous year, beishanlong, struthiomimus, andrewsarchus, thalassomedon, Collecta deinocheirus or papo kaprosuchus were figures that clearly rivaled Safari.

That said, I would have liked the prize to have shared between two companies in this case Collecta (whose scientific figures are also correct) or even Papo (kaprosuchus) and also had to include the company PNSO. The truth and truth that although it is not prehistoric animal (in this case dinosaur) very striking from the paleontological point of view although it was one of the first figures discovered the one of Safari has good pint.

Sincerely masiakasaurus or shunosaurus saw them as the best option to the Prehistoric Times prize by Safari.

Iguanodon is historic from the perspective of paleontology and paleoart, so I suppose the choice makes sense. And, there aren't too many good Iguano models (Papo?)...

...but there were better models, overall.

In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Congrats to Doug on back to back wins!

Thank you Halichoeres, this is actually four years in a row now but last year was shared with CollectA.

Congrats to Doug! I think the Iguanodon is an underappreciated little gem. A lot of us went crazy with the more exotic offers from other companies but the iguanodon was flawlessly sculpted and accurate!

Just goes to show that no matter what figure won the award, you were bound to get a bunch of sore losers (who all seem to be Collecta fans).

I'm reporting this comment. I don't appreciate anyone who likes to label people "sore losers."

Congrats, Doug! Four years in a row is impressive. I agree with their choice. Out of all of the 2016 models the only ones I like better than this are the prehistoric mammal reissues- but those aren't exactly new.

Which were the two previous to Sauropelta?

The Iguanodon is definitely a great piece, and stands out particularly because it's tough to find good figures of that taxa despite it's ubiquity. There are lots of interesting anatomical quirks that many artists ignore. Congrats, Doug!

I'm afraid your wording is a little too harsh, here; do please keep politeness in mind in the future.

Roselaar

I don't agree with this choice. It's a fine figure, but 2016 offered so much more daring stuff (Beishanlong, Huanghetitan, Glyphoderma and what not). In comparison, this Iguanodon is just kinda... bland. No offence meant to Doug.

Shonisaurus

Congratulations Doug for the prize for the best dinosaur figure of the year in this case iguanodon, although I also really like the rest of your figures from last year including the memorable masiakaurus .. In fact I already have all the news of dinosaurs 2017 between Which are deinocheirus, coelophysis, einiosaurus, parasaurolophus and tyrannosaurus rex feathered and I can say that it is better to see them in the natural than to see them on the internet screen.

On the other hand I am in love with the tyrannosaurus rex feathered so that having it I will order another copy tomorrow to send it to a nephew grandson that I have.

I simply tell you the truth and you must recognize that you are today the best paleoartist of figures of dinosaurs and prehistoric toy animals of the moment. The facts and the awards endorse it.
