It has already been stated in canon that they breed/clone their white sharks on site.

Cloning endangered animals just so they can be killed for entertainment is even worse.

I guess in the JP universe there's no such thing as endangered animals any more. If species can be brought back from extinction, then extant species can easily be saved from it.

stargatedalek

White sharks are not endangered, they are listed as vulnerable. ;)

Feeders are feeders, even morphs or rare species can end up in the same place when they are in excess litters/stillborn/etc., its not about killing animals for entertainment. What makes the life of that lab born white shark any more valuable than any other potential fish? Its better than taking wild caught fish to feed them, but than again what do they feed the sharks?

suspsy

The actual population of white sharks is highly debatable, but some estimates have it as low as 3500 individuals. That's rare enough.

Cloning sharks strictly for the purpose of feeding them to a mosasaur makes no sense from a conservation perspective, a business perspective, or a humane perspective. Again, they might as well be feeding tigers to the T. Rex or California condors to the raptors.

I imagine Masrani probably releases some into the wild for good publicity. If they're cloning enough for daily feedings then there's plenty enough to go around.

There might be an in universe group that thinks exactly that.

They could clone icthyosaurs or other mosasaurs, but would it be any better? These sharks are probably captive bred and pumped with vitamins, growth hormone, ect.. to make them ideal food sources.

Like Adam said, I bet White Sharks are no longer endangered nor are any other animal.

I hope the scoring is final- it sounds so much like the original, especially with the guard at the keypad- I think it sounds similar to Nedry's theme.

So thats how the irex escape, the human must be fooled by the irex lol

Brontozaurus

I don't know, this feels a lot more like a scene where they establish that Indominus is a threat, rather than her escape. Presumably just after the clip ends a million ACU guys with cattle prods force her back in.

You're joking, right? :P

Blade-of-the-Moon

It should be obvious, for those obcesse..I mean keeping up that this is the clip where she escapes. I'm not sure any number of the ACU guys can " work her back".  That's why later the Ingen security forces results to " shoot her!".

A bit of a spoiler..

Yes the I-Rex does use her camo abilities and hides waiting for the chance to make her "break".

I'm starting to wonder if maybe Wu is the true villain of the movie.  Like, he gets of Masrani always making him make changes to the dinosaurs so he creates this monstrosity and gives it abilities that would make keeping it contained eventually impossible.  Otherwise, these people are just incompetent.  You don't give an animal that would be extraordinarily dangerous if it broke free CAMOUFLAGE.
I'm excited for REBOR's Acro!  Can't ya tell?

All this talk of Wu and the ideas expressed in the JP novel made me go back and read a few chapters. I've read it several times before but gawd I love that book! And Spielberg did such a great job of adapting it for a two-hour movie.

Anyway, Jurassic World...

It is for sure! I've been tempted to re-read it myself..lol

Masrani is actually feeling a lot like Hammond to me. I think Wu and another will be villains but they will be having their strings pulled by someone else..I'm hoping Dodgson. ;)

I thought this was cool :

Hermes888

The more I see of the hybrid thing the less interested in the film I become. Seeing a film with fake real dinosaurs is one thing, but this seems to be all about fake fake dinosaurs. Great.

So apparently Vic Hoskins is supposed to be some kind of antagonist; he's the chief of security at the park and has even done some military contract work.
Spoiler
I'm guessing the big plot twist is that the purpose for all these dumb features they've thrown in to make it "cool" (like camouflage, intelligence, and venom) was actually to make a super-weapon and not to be a big attraction.
[close]

At this point I'm probably going to see the film with a friend, probably the only way I'll be able to enjoy this. It looks so awful.
