Great job! I have one of these and your work has inspired me to give mine a make-over now.

I'm not fond of bootlegs either but if a company doesn't give us a nice Camarasaurus I'm going to look for that one. Nice coloration!

Lanthanotus

While the Safari Psittacosaurus went without a lot of public appreciation (despite being a great figure in any regard) the most recent incarnation of the species by Schleich raked a great deal of attention, though probably a great proportion of that goes to the fact that such a qualitiy in sculpting a dinosaur wasn't expected by Schleich. I pondered wheter to get the figure, mostly because I loathed the basic color and paint job that made the whole creature look like a monster rather than a real animal. However, after having seen several repaints on the forum I got the figure and repainted it within the reasons of the scientific background for this species (I think).

PhilSauria

Great job!, as this figure continues to accrue points towards its "most painted new release" award.

Much improved! Must have taken some patience to pick out all the tubercles in black.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Lanthanotus both you and other members of the forum had to hire the company Schleich and let you advise how they should paint at least the figures of dinosaurs and toy animals.  :o

Now seriously, Lanthanotus you have a mastery to paint dinosaurs matchless and you have done a great job with psittacosaurus if I put it 10/10 note in my appreciation as a toy figure by the company Schleich, with that repainted would put 12 over 10 is a note higher than what is called note of honor. It is very cool.  8)  :)

Bokisaurus

Good job on the repaint, I'm looking forward to getting this figure ;)

Lanthanotus

Thanks you all for those kind words. I am no total newbie to painting figures, but seeing the results of other forum members (or their commissioned jobs) I often envy the skill of others. However, I like the result on the Psittacosaurus, but I feel in need of a more reliable and calculable light source to be able to show the models as they are...

Roselaar

Waah, that's a fabulous custom! Schleich's own paitn job wasn't bad, but it could definitely be improved upon, that much is clear now. :)

Lanthanotus

Speaking of light source to make proper photos... I still miss that as becomes obvious with the following...

.... unlike a lot of other CollectA models the recent Iguanodon came with quite a good one, but after having seen postsaurischian's thread and his gorgeous Iguanodon model I felt the urge to repaint this wonderful Deluxe Iguanodon nonetheless (I hope you don't mind, Helge :)) Usually I am not in for gaudy colors on my dinosaur models, but in this case, the paint scheme is a total winner.

ceratopsian

It looks good, especially when walking through greenery.

PhilSauria

Nice job. I should have mine in about a week and the thought never occurred to me to repaint it. Probably won't, but seeing yours has planted the germ of an idea... Looking at the inspiration photo I think that the Collecta Iguanodon stands up quite well in comparison to the other model.

mgaguilar

Damn, for such bright colors, it looks amazing!

Beegfood

Im soooo jealous!
Everybody has already got the new CollectA Figures and now also makes beautiful repaints of them! :o
And then there is me, who does not even now where you can order them! :'(
Could you guys please tell me?
And wow, that Iguanodon looks so good!
