I don't really collect dinosaurs much anymore but I'm definitely buying the Estemmenosuchus. I've always wanted one!!!

The Dimetrodon looks a bit like it was spray painted for military service.
I was thinking the same thing with this years Gigantspinosaurus. It looks allot like the color pattern you would expect on tanks painted up for dessert warfare. But honestly I actually like it. Something different from the usual counter shading. After all the color on military hardware and dinosaurs is meant to achieve the same purpose.

Yeah the new Estemmosuchus also kinda falls into this category. I understand it's supposed to be camouflage, but animal camouflage often looks rather different than military patterns. I might be wrong though, are there any examples of animals with the typical military camouflage schemes?
There are a few types of animals that have simplistic military like two tone patterns. Although most animal camo patterns are far more complex.

Finally a rain of molten rock starts to fall out of the darkening sky - this is the end of the age of the dinosaurs. The Comet struck the Gulf of Mexico with the force of 10 billion Hiroshima bombs. And with the catastrophic climate changes that followed 65% of all life died out. It took millions of years for the earth to recover but when it did the giant dinosaurs were gone - never to return." - WWD

CollectA has confirmed that this Friday's reveal will indeed be the last one. Four more sleeps!

Given that the Mapusaurus and the Proceratosaurus have rereleased with bases, I'm hoping they do the same with the Rajasaurus.

Wonder what else they'll have in store. I'd love to see their take on an accurate dromaeosaurid, but I won't be surprised if they don't have one for this year.

No, there's been eight so far: Mantellisaurus, Sciurumimus, Estemmenosuchus, Dunkleosteus, Iguanodon, Dimetrodon, Ceratosaurus, and Gomphotherium.

I'm hoping they do the same with the Rajasaurus.

Mine stands perfectly fine, despite having it carried around in my trouser pockets for quite some time to shoot photo stories for my son when I was on tour. However, the Rajasaurus is also made of a much sturdier plastic than some of the other CollectA figures.

My Protoceratosaurus finally gave way to toppling over, but I rather build it a base myself.

Really? the feet on mine were so small that I had to give it a base no matter how I tried to balance it.

The problem is that the legs of the theropods of Collecta as of other companies (except for exceptions such as Mojo 2017) are of excessively rigid legs and if one is not an adult and is not careful at the first change they split as if they were sticks. Or the spur of the toe is split for another example.

I apologize to the forum members for this opinion but it is what I feel.

Mine stands on its own too, but it falls over at the slightest provocation. I've been keeping it against the wall of the display cabinet, but I'd still prefer one on a base.

Mine is still good, thankfully. Hopefully it stays that way!

Looks like it's going to be a good year for CollectA, i just wish they would release a Daspleteosaurus or Albertosaurus that isn't sitting down, not that the Daspleteosaurus isn't a good model, i just like having them in different positions and i feel an animal as threatening visually as a tyrannosaurid should be more bursting with energy, instead of crouched.

Agree with you,but it's nice seeing a figure different from most others,Collecta is definitely the person for that job,but yeah,i want a Daspletosaurus that's accurate and up to date that's not sitting.

I second this. There are many other theropod figures they could've revealed instead of a mislabeled 1:40 Ceratosaurus figure that isn't even 1:40. While a small tyrannosaur wouldn't be the figure I'd immediatly demand from them, I would have still preferred one to yet another "1:40" model that is closer to 1:30 than 1:40.

Shonisaurus

A tyrannosaurid like daspletosaurus, gorgosaurus, albertosaurus, alioramos or tarbosaurus for putting more significant examples would be great on a 1:30 scale in the style of the Collecta ceratosaurus which is a magnificent figure this year, it is the best that has been done.

Some good and bad news from the STS.
Good news, confirmed number of CollectA figures for next reveal, including extant animals.
Bad news, there will only be 3 models.

3 including extant animals? Wow that means there will probably be only 1 dinosaur. I assumed the last would be the biggest. Well it better not disappoint.

Well hopefully one of them will be large-ish.

Are we sure this is the last reveal?   :'(

Faelrin

I hope there's at least one more spectacular prehistoric release, but I can't complain too much, since they have some nice ones, and did the one I wanted them to do.

Yes, that has been confirmed by CollectA.

Eight or nine prehistoric toys is pretty damn good, especially for people like me who are strapped for display space. Between CollectA and Safari, I'm going to have to put away a bunch of older stuff.

We shall see in less than 24 hours!
