Now that we've seen the wares from CollectA, Papo, Safari, and Schleich for 2018, which ones do you think would look nice on a 2018 banner?

For myself, I think the Safari Mastodon and the CollectA Estemmenosuchus would be cool. It'd be the first banner without dinosaurs on it!

I personally think the Safari Ltd Anzu and the CollectA Estemmenosuchus would be the combination that appeals to me the most.

Update: I also agree that at least 1 dinosaur should be included. This is the Dinosaur Toy Blog/Forum after all. There are quite a lot of people here who don't focus on non-Mesozoic animals at all (I'm not one of them.).

Roselaar

Considering this is the Dinosaur Toy Forum, I would put at least one dinosaur on it.

My votes would be Safari's Anzu and Collecta's Estemmenosuchus.

I'm happy to take suggestions, but I think I agree that at least one dinosaur should be featured.

I vote Safari Triceratops and CollectA Stemmenosuchus.

I'd say the WS mastodon and triceratops would be nice.

Personally, I'd like the banner to have at least one sauropsid.

I don't know what the planned layout is. I help design the ATF banner and I always go for taxonomic diversity and company diversity. If you go with two, like it is now, that limits things greatly.

That's how it's been here for years now. I don't see why there need to be more than two.

There are so many wonderful models this year, I'm inclined to look at bright and striking ones, rather than necessarily the best ones, for the banner...maybe the WS Malawisaurus and CollectA Dimetrodon..? Or the Ceratosaurus. The banner always looks great, regardless ^-^ Maybe they could be chosen for their colours to reflect the seasons?

Interesting. I still like the two figure format best.

Uh, that's a hard vote....

I'd definetly include the CollectA Iguanodon ...

for the other I'd go either for  Papo Quetzal, Safari Uintatherium or Safari Amargasaurus

The question of whether the banner should have a dinosaur forces me to notice that there are no marine reptiles from the major companies planned for 2018, and only a single pterosaur. Bit of a bummer for fans of those groups.

Personally I would second the nominations of Malawisaurus and Estemmenosuchus for the 2018 banner.

"3,000 km to the south, the massive comet crashes into Earth. The light from the impact fades in silence. Then the shock waves arrive. Next comes the blast front. Finally a rain of molten rock starts to fall out of the darkening sky - this is the end of the age of the dinosaurs. The Comet struck the Gulf of Mexico with the force of 10 billion Hiroshima bombs. And with the catastrophic climate changes that followed 65% of all life died out. It took millions of years for the earth to recover but when it did the giant dinosaurs were gone - never to return." - WWD

To be honest, I'm glad for the break, I'm running out of shelf space!

Malawisaurus and Estemmenosuchus seem to have the most proponents at the moment.

At least CollectA is giving us a sea monster, albeit a fish and not a reptile.

Those two would look very nice flanking the logo. :)

Papo Acrocanthosaurus on the left and WS Anzu on the right.

stargatedalek

We had a sauropod this year, it would feel repetitive to have another one immediately afterwards.

I suggest the Wild Safari Anzu for the dinosaur, and though I don't love it the CollectA Estemmenosuchus makes sense for the non-dinosaur.

Bokisaurus

I kinda miss the multiple figures. It was nice to see samplings from the various company. I personally vote for good old Brontosaurus from CollectA ;) a nice way to welcome an iconic species back :))
