A big problem is we as fans, view things through nostalgia goggles.  Nothing is ever going to be as awesome as the toys we got on our hands and knees on the carpet or dirt and played with. We spent hours building worlds and having adventures in them.    True quality has taken a hit in some areas due to the almighty dollar.  But we also aren't those kids anymore. We have different mentality, our body chemistry is different even our vision and other senses just aren't what they were at 10 years old.   I'm happy to purchase something that at least reminds me of those times, the experience means more than what it is.  I'm not telling anyone what to do or anything, just something I've realized and wanted to put out there.  I wish every adult had a mandatory " play time" still. We used to look forward to recess now we can't be tempted to stop working to play with something.  Something to consider.

*sigh*

I'll reserve judgment on these until I see them in person.

Please use the Lego thread, this is not Mattel  ;)
Sorry I posted that before the Lego thread got made, and didn't exactly want to make another thread, because I feared that people would only prefer actual images, and not some guy describing leaked images.

pako

It's ok but there is an actual Jurassic World Lego thread, before the 2018 one got made, anyway  ;)

There are new pics floating around,  some look better than we saw before others..a bit worse.

Leaked or official?

Leaked (mostly seem to be circulating in facebook and other social network services).

No official public images released yet as far as I know.

So, everywhere apart from the DTF. We're distinctly under the thumb, but I suppose we should be flattered that we were deemed worth of being singled out :P

I've seen them before too, and I do like some of them, but I'll probably need official images or see them in stores to get a better idea, in most cases. I'd mention where but I don't get the idea that it might be the smartest thing to do. Is even mentioning what the leaks were of even a good idea either (beyond what was originally shared/mentioned/posted about)?

Leaked from what appears to be a sales catalog given to verified retailers.

Reptilia

Since we've been vetoed to link any picture that is circulating I don't even see the point of discussing this line anymore, I mean until any promo is officially released.

I don't know where we stand. That's why I created this thread: http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=6428.0 but it didn't lead to any satisfying conclusion.

Faelrin

Alright well I guess I'd rather be safe then sorry at this point, and wait for the official reveals before discussing any of this stuff further. I really hope the official reveals come with the New York toy fair in February, because that will no doubt be better then images, leaked or not.

No pictures for now please, unless they're official, but otherwise feel free to discuss (I know, that's difficult without pics, but that's the way it is).

Flaffy

Well this is gonna be difficult... without images and all. But I guess it's not too hard to find the leaks on other social media sites like 4chan or Reddit... Onto the figures!
Mattel lowered the bar, again. (for certain figures) They're dangerously close to being Hasbro levels of bad if they continue this cheapening.

We got new angles on a green Trike, quite fond of the neutral pose and it's extremely movie accurate sculpt . Reminds me of the JP real feel Kenner one, minus the real feel. Seems like it is in the same line as the Bary, Metri and Allo.

Smaller figures revealed include: Dimorphodon, Gallimimus, Dilophosaurus, Raptor Blue and a green Raptor. All suffer from bad posing like the JW Allosaurus. Raptor Blue = average raptor, Green raptor kinda looks like Cyclops raptor.

Dimorphodon: Grey with hints of maroon red on the wing for the colour scheme, just about your average JW gargoyle dimorphodon. It's feet are planted on the ground with her wings spread in all it's glory.
Gallimimus: Oh my where do we start. On one hand I'm glad we finally get another Gallimimus, but on the other it's pose is not easy to the eye. It's sort of in this weird about to run but crouched down pose that looks really awkward. The colours are what you'd expect on a JP Galli, brown with highlights, but a little more vibrant.
Dilophosaurus: It seems like they've changed the gimmick from water shooting to a plastic projectile, or that we've assumed wrong this whole time. It's colours are true to the one in JP, along with what seems to be a permanent frill. Proportions seems to be a little bit better. The projectile is a translucent green rod. A solid meh, not good, not bad.

Onto some of the larger figures- regular Rex, large Rex, Mosa, Carno, Stego

Rex (regular): Don't know if it's the angle or not, but this one looks waaaaay better than the last leak of the figure. While the ugly hip seams are still here, the skull seems shortened and actually resembles a JP rex.
Rex (large): Assuming it's the same one we saw before. It's heavily cheapened. There's no other way to put it. It looks a lot worse than that majestic gigantic rex that we saw. The carefully painted stripes are now but a few sloppy ones on the body. The whole thing gives off this cheap plastic vibe, hope it turns out decent in the end...
Mosasaurus: Why hello my favourite bobblehead oversized flippers badly proportioned marine reptile! All the proportion issues aside, It's paint looks really solid, the details are neat and is true to it's movie counterpart. But the bad proportions are hard to look past, makes it seem like a Playskool toy.
Carnotaurus: Looks amazing. Exactly the same as before, just needs better paint and it's good to go.
Stegosaurus: Another fabulous figure I'd be happy to pick up. Looks like it has decent articulation, kids will have a fun time playing with this one. Love the blueish greens, sculpt in very true to the JW version of Stegosaurus.

Nice surprises and some disappointments, Mattel's offerings so far are hits and misses, hope as time passes they'll get better and better.

stargatedalek

There are most likely two different Dilophosaurus, the proportions are different.

Frankly I'm loving all of these, I'm iffy on the thrashing Tyrannosaurus and the potentially very expensive vehicles, but I'm going to be getting most if not all of these.

Reptilia

I trust your description, so average stuff overall.

Blade-of-the-Moon

i'm betting the paint apps arent final.

I think there might be two Mosa figures.. the one now looks detailed and plastic the first one was less detailed and more rubber looking.

I'm going to have to pick and choose, especially with the classics line coming too.  The general vibe i'm getting is Mattel likes this license more than Hasbro.
