But all these playsets are going to leave me even more broke. And out of space (well unless I do some serious rearranging in my room). But I don't have the (large) submarine thing yet, so now I have an excuse to pick up this set. The box art looks really cool too. I mean it is already much like the original Mosasaurus box art, but yeah.

If I had to guess how much each of these is going to cost, the Baryonyx set maybe $30, the BD Blue and Indoraptor set $30, and this $50? Of course once these are available I'll know for sure. I really do want to pick up all of these, even if it means doubles now.

hmm..

They should remake the Mosa with a longer tail  :)

Is that a skeleton of a theropod included in the set? I can't really tell by zooming in.

Dilopho

It looks like it.
Perhaps it'll be like the Chap Mei playsets; they usually include a small Tyrannosaur skeleton that comes in multiple pieces like a 3d jigsaw, and pops together into a semi-articulated skeleton.

hmm..

You have to be kidding me... :o :o :o
I....I still havenĀ“t bought the Mosasaurus yet...
If that skeleton does a semi-decent job of representing THE skeleton seen in the movie then....another one to the list I guess...

Faelrin

It's got to be the skeleton of the Indominus rex. That alone is going to make this set much sought after (aside from the already sought after Mosasaurus included). I really hope this means they'll do a 'live' I. rex for next year's toys (if not later this year).

Edit: It was hard for me to tell (it looked like a rib to me), but between the sub, skeleton, and Mosasaurus, is a human figure as well. Quite the bang for the buck. JPToys is saying this set is a Wave 3 release. I hope so, because then I can focus more on the other Wave 2 stuff more then that set (as cool as it is, it'll no doubt be expensive).

If it's supposed to be the Indominus skeleton, then they failed miserably. That thing looks nothing like Indominus, more like a generic rex but with messed up anatomy.
Still wish they fixed the Mosasaur to have a longer tail. Oh well, if the skeleton turns out horribly, then it's an easy pass for me.

Hey, you can't judge it from the boxart.

Which, might I add, does look very nice. The colours are lovely.
From what I can make out, the picture of the skeleton in the corner looks better than the painted one.

Whew! I received the Mosasaurus in the mail today, and what an impressive toy it is!

It may not be the most accurate portrayal of the animal, but hey it could also be worse. It's just so enormous, and the "real feel" skin is a reminder of the original Jurassic Park series. Really captures that Jurassic Park feel in a way Hasbro could not.

I found a Ceratosaurus two days ago- it was the only wave 2 figure on the shelves. I'm pretty excited about it- it's fun to finally have such a Jurassic Park-y Ceratosaurus. It has one of the best paint jobs of the line, along with the Baryonyx. They also share a pleasant sculpture quality that seems different from some of the other theropods (could this be due to different sculptors, or maybe reference materials such as movie models?). Its balance seems a bit more sensitive than the Baryonyx.

Some pictures (clickable thumbnails to save space):

:P A jumble of unsolicited thoughts about the line...

When some of these figures were first previewed, I thought I would only want a few: Gallimimus, Ankylosaurus, maybe Baryonyx. After seeing more of them in person I realized I had underestimated how interesting they were. For example, the battle-damage "Blue" is the best Velociraptor of all the JP toy lines in terms of film-accurate sculpture and poseability (I love the range of motion in the neck, and how its mouth can be fully closed to hide the teeth). The Chompin' T. rex may be the most poseable of all- I wasn't crazy about the large feet but they really do give it great stability in different poses, even on carpet or sloped surfaces! It makes a nice intermediate between the original Kenner young and adult rexes. The roaring Triceratops has an excellent head. (I'm not sure why they went with this terra-cotta coloring for the Triceratops, or the T. rex for that matter.) If I could change details about the line I would have the Baryonyx's mouth closed at rest, and give the basic Gallimimus the paint job of the legacy multipack version (with the tail stripes).

Even the Stegosaurus has some fun poseability:

I ended up choosing the battle-damage Pachycephalosaurus over the legacy version because its head has a larger range of motion, so it can have this kind of watchful pose:

:D

This made me giggle even though I think that is not funny. ::)

You are a monster.

Faelrin

Okay I giggled at that, and now feel guilty.  :-[ Oops. Okay but the fact it's an Attack Pack is actually pretty funny all things considering.

Found the 4 new Attack Packs at walmart today, but not much else, they have a lot of wasted space just sitting empty right now.

PhilSauria

Has anyone seen the Reel Feel Mosasaurus on sale anywhere in Australia? Prices are insane trying to order this thing online from outside of the country!!

Blade-of-the-Moon

I shipped one to a friend there.  it and an Indo was 80.00?  crazy.

SBell

Just going to say, it would be nice if Wave 2 stuff would hit Canada already, nevermind wave 3!

The local TRU (yeah, we still have them) doesn't even know when to expect them...
