Dimetrodon isn't popular?  I like it. It looks pretty nice, too.

The Destructasaur stygimoloch looks a lot better in the paint department than it's Attack Pack and Battle Damage counterparts, interesting. Strange how a supposed Wave 3 release is being displayed already.
Really hope they swap out the Dimorphodon for a Microceratus or Compsognathus.

The microceratus is easily the most interesting out of all of them  ;) Though it's a shame they didn't use the amazing Microceratus on the JW website, instead it's clear where they took inspiration from: (old reconstructions or something along those lines)

I really hope there will be ways for us to acquire HUGE HOARDS of Compies and Microceratus other than getting them with other figures.
I still don't understand why Mattel doesn't give us actually small species for their blind packs... They already gave us a blind pack dimorphodon (which is in much better scale than the Attack Pack), I don't see why they can't give us a blind pack Microceratus and Compsognathus as well.

Can't anyone on here post pictures of the codes for the figures? especially wave 2 ones?

Well I'm really glad these are going to see the day of light after all, since I do want the Dimetrodon with Microceratus set.

Spoiler
Though the Wave 4(?) one has the colors of the taxidermied one in the film. I also wish Microceratus made it in the film. Too bad.

Just picked up the Mosa. It's a must have item like the PNSO Chungkingosaurus, Schleich Shonisaurus, Dino Riders Brontosaurus, Playskool Ultrasaurus and Battat Diplodocus.

If only it had an open throat to shove pteranodon minis in.

Hey, 1000th post.

Hey, 1000th post.

Even more than the Colossal T-rex, the Mosa would have been ideal for that type of storage gimmick.

High praise, guess I gotta get it sooner than later. Haven't seen it in-store yet. I did get the Colossal T. rex though, which I would consider a must-have too. It's the only Tyrannosaurus in the line I was interested in. Go big or go home.  8)

More thoughts on the new Jurassic World toys...

I'm really having fun with these. They are a worthy successor to the Kenner stuff from the 90s, but better in some ways.

I received the Extreme Chompin' T. rex and Monolophosaurus with battle damage set the other day, and have been playing with them since! Even if the sculpts aren't museum quality, they could be so much worse (JPIII and JW sculpts!), and the amount of detail on them is incredible. The chomping function on the rex is super smooth, and is everything the Kenner "Young T. Rex" with dino damage wished it could have been. The ball-jointed hips and shoulders on both figures are super smooth. Also, these two figures actually have binocular vision if you look at them head on, which is a nice touch.

I was skeptical of the new dino-damage on the Mono, but was pleased to see that it's a very smooth function, and it makes sense to have the skin flap non-removable so it doesn't get lost. Also, Kenner never had functional dino damage on such small figures, so that's cool to see here.

Unrelated to dinos, this new series has finally given us a proper model of the 1992 Jurassic Park Jeep Wrangler, and I think it looks great. I hope we see other vehicles from the films by Matchbox in this scale, like the Mercedes SUVs from The Lost World. They could even make the Dino-Soar boat from JPIII.

I really hope this line has longevity after the initial waves in support of the new film have had their run. I hope the Legacy line sticks around for a while, because there are so many human characters, vehicles, and dinosaur species still to be done. How about a Corythosaurus? I also think Mattel could easily release a "real feel" sauropod or two (Brachiosaurus and Apatosaurus) on the same scale as the Mosasaurus. They could probably even fit one disassembled in the same size box as used for the Mosasaurus.

Yes, I have to pick up the Colossal T-rex one day. I have the T&T for now. Once I collect extra funds (probably a few years from now  :)),  I may have all my JP models repainted for film accuracy...except the Mosa as it is hard to do on that type of texture, maybe have the teeth modded, if anything). Yeah, I definitely, highly recommend that Mosa!

When are they releasing the attack pack Concavenator?

PhilSauria

Yeah I've kinda given up on that Mosasaurus; no sign of it here in Australia, let alone any wave 2 figures. The tyranny of distance, or something.

WAIT Theres going to be a Concavenator?

Reptilia

Mosasaurus didn't show up in stores in my area either. Only way to obtain it is a third-party seller on Amazon, who obviously asks for a ridiculous price. Also the EC T-Rex is nowhere to be seen, so I guess my JP toys nostalgia won't win me over.

If you live in the U.S, there are numerous stores that have the Mosa. This week my local Target had about 3 Mosas, but they ran out of Stegosaurus. I've never seen the Mosa in Walmart or Target, previously. I was able to purchase one this time.  I think they periodically restock them. Also, don't forget that Fallen Kingdom just came out. That means select dinosaurs (e.g. Stiggy) will be temporarily out of stock. Don't pay beyond retail for the Mosa. It's $29.99 USD.
